  1. Nice to see fatty doing something useful :P
  2. The catches just push into holes in the floor... I can't remember whether you need to push them forward or backwards (and then lift up) but you're on the right track. They're annoying :)
  3. Symptoms sound *similar* to problems I've had with an AE93RV and AE112R. I think this might be something endemic specifially to the 7AFE as I've not encountered it in any 4AFE. Carbon buildup. I once picke up an AE93 that was idling terribly, lacked power and chuffed blue smoke. What I did: Have a look down the guts of the throttle body and check that the butterfly is seating properly. As well as the carbon, the butterfly tends to corrode around the edge and it doesn't form a perfect seal. There's also two valves on the intake system, idle bypass and cold idle, that can sometimes get sticky and perform erratically. I took all mine apart and cleaned it up with carby cleaner and a toothbrush, soaking the valves in petrol for a while beforehand. Throttle butterfly might need a quick rub with emery paper if its corroded. I also sprayed a metric f*ckton denatured alcohol into the intake and let it sit for a while, before starting the car and raping the hell out of the engine whilst spraying more carby cleaner down the intake. And by raped the engine, I mean revved the snot out of it for about 10 minutes. Several times. Worked a treat :) Of course you may have a different issue altogether, but I've seen it on quite a few 7AFE's now.
  4. Don't mind the Alkalis myself... 'Cos they're rare, not many people have heard of them and I'm totally a hipster like that. Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium, Caesium, Francium... Oh and Snot. I like Snot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x_Rp148jCQ I just won this tread, because I have a banjo solo. Also: All f@$kin' summer long, sugar.
  5. I wouldn't know where to start... I lost count somewhere around 200...

meeeeeeeeee I need an early 20 bootlid dammit :P
  9. Aaaah south east asia. Converting your favourite cars into rolling body filler sculptures since the invention of the wheel. And then covering them in tacky accessories.
  10. You've gotta remove the little green caps from the inside of the cluster, but that's easy as.
  11. I just did the actual backlights, I left all the warning lights, blinkers etc. I think there's 6 or so in the cluster itself, and the one behind the climate control is a T5. They just go straight in the little holders like a normal bulb.
  12. T10 wedge bulb. Use something like these if you wanna red that shit up, LED styles http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/T10-Wedge-Super-Red-3-LED-Light-Bulb-x2-194-168-12256-/230635683798?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b2f53fd6 I went pink for the GF's KE70 once...
  13. The old AE95R into AE92 has been bandied around many times over the years... That's slightly more do-able, but the fundamental problem there is the Corolla AWD systems weren't really designed for performance. Especially the Tercel driveline, which is made of glass, balsawood and fail. Think of them more as traction aids, for people who live somewhere it snows. This is why pretty much every car sold in Japan has an AWD variant. So when you add the AWD, you add weight. To compensate, you need more power. Add more power, you start breaking shit. Much better off just buying a Celica GT4 or Caldina GT-T :P
  14. Lemmie guess. Merc? :P
  15. Which is the only variant of the Tercel we got in Australia, and seeing as he wants to convert to 4WD, the only one which is relevant. But even the AL20 are north-south though despite being FF.
  16. Ah I see where you're misunderstanding... And I can assure you the frames aren't even remotely similar. Don't believe the wiki, the AL25 shares more in common with the KE70 than the AE82. In fact, you can pretty much bolt the AL25 driveline into a KE70/AE71 with a bit of trans tunnel massaging. The bonnet won't close, but it'll fit. And that there is the fundamental difference... The AL25 is a RWD converted to 4WD. It has a north-south engine. AE82 is FWD east-west, which means it doesn't even HAVE a transmission tunnel, or room for a tailshaft, or anywhere you could attach mounts for a rear differential. Also the AE82 has a front subframe instead of load bearing chassis rails like the AL25. Remove that, you remove the structural integrity of the entire front half of the car. AL25 driveline:
  17. You haven't told us which Tercel you have yet... If its the AL25, it has NOTHING in common with the AE82. The engine's facing in the wrong direction for starters. If its an AE95R, you have a better chance, but you'd still need to use the entire floorpan from the 4wd, plus adapt the front subframe to the AE82. They are all very, very different cars.
  18. Probably thinking of the AE95R, which isn't technically a Tercel, but it does have an east-west AWD driveline. None of which will bolt into a FWD rolla. Different floorpan. Unless of course you DO have an actual Tercel, (AL25) which have a completely unique north-south fwd/awd driveline and are in no whay compatible with an AE82, whatsoever. So either way, no.
  19. I think the Americans have a drive through service now
  20. wait wait wait.... Topping up oil when its... Running.
  21. So hot right now
  22. Autobarn yes, but don't expect a very good match. I get mine from a proper automotive paint supply store. Cheaper($16)and usually a better match because they have more accurate measuring equipment. Have a look in the yellow pages for auto paint supplies and do a ring around to see which ones will mix a spray pack.
  23. You can buy the proper stuff off the roll. Or if you're extra cheap, just use self adhesive wheelarch trim.
  24. It has auction lot numbers on it, so its been through the insurance recovery process... Looks like an interior fire. Sucks.
  25. Oh yeah, you capture all sorts of fail. Every time I see a f*ckwit, I just press the record button. I'll be making a compilation video once the SD card fills up.
