ok so i'm at my wits end, the engine still wont fire. i adjusted the timing by removing the dizzy and following the instructions in the manual, the engine does sound better when it turns over but thats it, is it possible the engine is just f@$ked? the leads and plugs are clean and fine.

what did you get the panhard rod from? by the sounds of it its to short? is the car lowered at all?

spotted a slammed white 20 last night followed shortly after by a stock orange one on unley road near the TA. thought the white one was mitchs but the boot had the black paint between the taillights

yeh i swapped over the dizzys, but i was having the issue before i did anyways. and i know that the dizzy can only go in 2 ways and i have to line up the rotor to cylinder 1. because i changed the alts over, could the belt be an issue if its to tight or loose?

hey all, halfway through the process of putting a 4k in my 20. we have put the 4k in with the 3k starter motor, carby, fuel pump and alternator. the engine is turning over but it wont fire. now is the problem that i have 3k gear on it? the spark plugs seem fine and so do the leads. could it be my timing is completely out? any light shed on the matter would be great. cheer nick

haha i am the master of this car :wink: kinda just sold it last time, not really sure why and i regretted it ever since so i am heaps happy to have it back. car was fine, only thing was it had a warped head, so i drove it from the sellers house to my mates which was bout 15min up the road. radiator ended up whistling like a boiling kettle and the car wouldnt start anymore :( and thats the story of the shitty 3k. 4k is in and almost done, just need to sort out the emissions crap and vac lines that are all over it. that should be done tonight and i hope i get to drive it tonight. got some goodies for it, lil visor for the front and Venetians on the rear. going to drop it 2inchs, need to get the whitewalls done again. going to give the interior a good clean up, i wanna find some mega comfy seats for the front. this car is purely to cruise in :wink: pics of its former glory
