  1. JUST LIKE THIS THREAD!!! (Thank you, I'll be here all week) :) :)
  2. Now we know why they're called poofter suits.
  3. It is a bummer, but I suspect there are public liability issues at work again. I'll see if I can find more info.
  4. FWIW, When I swictched from Woolies Caltex to BP (regular unleaded), I notice a bit more consistent economy and performance. That said, this is strictly anecdotal, and the fact that I switched around the end of winter might have had something to do with it, but yes, the Silkstone BP has comparable prices to (sometimes exactly the same) as the 7-11 next door, so why bother?
  5. Took me all of 5 mins to get one at Suncorp.
  6. Pencilled in.
  7. The trouble with shots like this is that you need get _far_ away from populated areas, something I don't like to do wth too much regularity. 'Gowan was god for this, as it was isolated enough that there was not even a hint of city lights around the horizon, perfect for stargazing.
  8. Mine can keep going as long as there is battery... probably few days at least... I use bulb mode, with a remote release that can lock the shutter open for however long I want it.
  9. Hi, folks. Got this from a friend of mine, who is president of the Brisbane Rotaract Club. If you're free on the morning of 18th of December, and want to do some good, sign up for this. Responses to [email protected]
  10. 2514", around 45 minutes. I shouldave used my other camera. Would have given less noise, but it was late and dark and I was tired. :D
  11. As usual, here's a sneak preview.
  12. Pix will have to wait for a while, as I have a gut feeling that my portable hardrive/memory card reader didn't like the impact of the crash, and I have been too busy with a conference to sort it out. will get around to it later this week, though.
  13. I wanted to get to the city, and I didn't know where you guys were headed, so I disengaged around then before I ended up in wup wup or something. Tried to call you, Teddy, but your phone was off. And yes, I have drift damage on the wagon O death. I braked a bit too hard, (against my better judgement, but it was either that, or _potentially_ (in hindsight, it was probably an overreaction on my part) rear end the ute in front of me. Long story short, rear end went out, did a 540, and ended with my passenger door against a post, where it took most Mel's Crew (or Rob's crew?) to dislodge me. Oddly enough, wasn't actually going too fast... must have been under 60. But gravel + brakes is baad. I grossly underestimated following distance... but oh well. Lesson learned. No signs of mechanical damage. Car ran fine all trip. Stalled once going up a hill post crash, but that was moire probablt nerves on my part. Spend about 40 bucks on fuel. (Ipswich -> Brisbane -> Kilcoy -> 10 Mile -> afternoon hooning around in lower gears -> Gallangowan -> Kilcoy Brisbane. This car continues to amaze. Driving around those roads was a hoot. I had a fun jaunt up the 10 Mile stage, and that road from Jimna to Gallongawan was a hoot as well. Unfortunately, did not get as many pictures as I hoped to. Got there a little late, and I didn't have a chance to get to another stage from Gallangowan after lunch.
  14. Having second thoughts on account of the weather.... Pitching a tent in the rain is the suck.
  15. I'm looking at going there and doing an overnighter. Last time I went to Gympie, I was falling asleep on the way back, so not going to try that again this time. Of course, if someone wants to help drive back, there's a possibilty. I don't think I'd want to, though. There's hot showers (and even washing machine) at the Gallongawan Oval, so it's quite nice there. What would be the best way to get there from Ipswich? Bruce Highway via City?
  16. *Groaan* Another 3 hour drive for me!! Anyone to convoy with?
  17. I quite dig that 70's styling.
  18. THAT is the standard of work I aspire to. Tony! You need to practice driving on two wheels.... I'll smuggle a ramp on to the track to make it easier!
  19. Haha. If they can't identify the hoff... sorry, The Hoff, they don't deserve to be at an 80's party. Maybe you could go as that picture of The Hoff, with the Merry Christmas.. text stuck on front... or you could get a tire and go as the "Out of f@$king nowhere" one... it's funny, I went to the room where our systems people live, and they had a few of these printed and on a board... even had the 'log hoff' one... 200 points to whoever changes their colleagues PC to have that one the logout screen. 20,000 if you do your entire workplace.
  20. Even though they may not say it, everyone at Rollaclub wants you go as... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  21. I'd've thought ruts would get Robbie Williams: http://images.google.com/images?q=robbie+w...G=Search+Images
  22. Haha... if you read the snopes article, it says it originally happened in cleveland. Not QLD.
  23. really? wow?
  24. I'm having musical mood swings again. One minute it's light doof or 80's pop, and the next it's Linkin Park or Rob Zombie. I don't know what to listen to anymore. Need something new. Don't really feel like the blues or the usual oldies. Don't feel like Cat Empire or Chemical Brothers. Maybe I have a fever... for which the only cure is... more cowbell.
  25. What next? R/C sound offs?
