  1. Hey guys. I was wondering if any one knows if the standard 4afe/7afe ECUs are capable of being re tuned... more specifically, can they handle boost compensation? I know the AE112 had a limited run of 7AFTE engines, so am I right in assuming the 7AFE ecu's can handle positive manifold pressure with out having a melt down? or can they be tuned to handle boost?

    Thanks guys

Those 7afte's run a TOMS ecu. I seriously doubt a re-prom would take boost, i'd look for a second hand aftermarket one.

  2. I was going to go out today but cold/flu said no. I'll head out tomorrow for sure.

I did go for an amble Thursday night(probably the reason for the cold/flu ive had). I always seem to giggle like a school kid, when it hits 8k and the second power valve blade opens. Just like powerband on 2t motorcrosser.

  3. My mate read up on lpg heaps about some cars making more power than on petrol when setup right. Then he put his 2.5l turbo nissan stagea on LPG and guess what? Like nearly every other lpg converted car in the world it lost power and doesnt run as smooth. Darn hey?

He didn't do enough reading then.

There are only a couple of tuners SMART enough to get lpg to work right. He obviously didn't see one of them.

  4.

Did you get over 9° today?

Yeah it was around 11-12 yesterday, in all honesty it's not the cold thats the issue.

I've got some fairly warm winter gear, its the older back tyre in the wet and the wind was nasty.

If the weather stays dry today I'll go for a fang tonight.

  5. thanks mate.

    Will check them out..!

They are cool blokes, met them through a good mate. They started off opening a workshop setup, with a heap of stations that you hire. They include mc hoist, tools, fab and electrical equipment to build choppers to cafe's and everything in between. They did it to help people that live inner-city and have no room to build/mod their dream bikes.

Pretty badass idea if you ask me.

  6. They have some trick stuff Smith bros, have an agent down our way. I seriously can't believe you haven't banana'd any std pushrods yet, with the springs you've got

    in that head.

He definitely has a mental Camaro, ultra neat too by the looks of it.

  7. holy sht..!

hope you guys document it all mate.

    very interested

The 250 barrel conversion is already well documented and even sold in kit form, but I will be trying to do it cheaper than the 1,500 pound the kit usuall sells for. The crank mod is something the bike shop across the laneway at work is doing (I'm helping a bit with some machining) on an rg500. I will be taking plenty of pics and vids as we do them. But none of this will happen for me until the rolla is boosted again.

The mirrors that came with the bike were useless, threads were stripped and would blow over at 90km/h. That and they were too short to see anything other than my arms. So i bought some longer aftermarket ones from the shop today, probably a little too long and look funny but no f's given as now I can see. I'll pop a photo up when i get back to the bike. Off to shop for some gear.

  8. so, for now, all I want to do, that isnt super costly, is remove the whole tail light section, fit a cafe tail light and indicators(front and rear) that suit.

I know what your saying, I just want to put more than the 8km I have only done on the rgv. Haha

The french one is more my style. With HD's if it aint black denim it needs a flake job as crazy as an 80's speed boat!!

http://kustomkommune.com.au/news these melb based guys are doing some cool stuff.

  9. Sssooo my two mad scientist 2 stroke friends(one was an R&D mech for pro-circuit team kwaka in the states) and myself have started working out the new engine combo.

Looks like we'll start with cr250 barrels and pistons which will give me 300cc then after some measuring of the crank counter weights I've found that it should be easy enough to get an extra 8mm of stroke. This with base gasket spacers should net me 360cc should be good for 75-80hp a an f'ton of torque.

  10. Anyone keen on joining us at WINTERFEST at sandown on labour day?, I'm workin but the boy might tow it down...

I'm going, what I take will be dependent on the weather.

What's these rumours of hot K parts from a celebrity in murica?!?!

  11. WGMG: a good mate of mine got seriously stitched up on a work cover claim. What makes it worse is he cannot get disability pension as they believe a fused neck with neurology reports he can never work again, is a disability. WTF?!?!?!

Yet any skank that opens her thighs and pops a sprog or two gets a metric f'ton of cash thrown at them even before child support!!

  12. awesome mate..!

    Rego monday?

Cheers man, nah no rego monday, waiting for club inspection, they need date and time stamped photos for records. May take a week or two for that and I really need a jacket and pants or two piece leathers. A hoody and jeans just doesn't cut it.

  13.

So they could forge a set of correctly sized pistons with over-sized unfinished crowns for you to finish as you wished?

They use them to digitize the model to cut the forging, makes it easier to program the cnc.

To do it like your saying "as forged crown" would be a min order of 500+ parts and an outlay of thousands of dollars in die work. It is a nice way to do it but not really economically viable.

  14. The previous owner stitch welded the whole car but I'll be looking at making the rear better where there seems to be much less strength in the body there.

That and a proper cage should be all you'll need. Stitch welding is by far the best way to do it.

A work sponsored customer runs full seam welded bay, car has to make atleast 1300hp considering it runs 8.3-8.5 qtr mile in FULL street trim. No cracks to speak of, in 7+ years!!

If your worried about the rear mounts, tying them into the cage supports will help too.
