  1. Update!!!

Fixed the boost dive issue. Id run out of gate spring. So i borrowed a kinagawa gate a mate wasn't using and threw the 22psi spring in it and seems much better.

BBBUUUUTTTTT it's now running at 98% duty on the injectors 🙁

Meaning power should be up a fair bit too.

Seeing as dave mentioned economy numbers in his beemer thread i thought I'd crunch some numbers.

    So its 1000kg, 45ltr tank, E85 fuel and 5spd.

Last drive was exactly 180km round trip from the mornignton peninsula to yarra junction. Half was freeway the other half stop start and twisty mountain roads, just fiiled to the brim with 16.2ltrs, so bang on 9ltr per 100km.

  2. Harsh, very harsh.

Don't take offense parrot last I remember you're a father not a mother haha.

Back to topic. Dave are they mech or leccy injected? Not that it makes a huge difference as I'm still impressed by those fuel figures either way. I'd imagine being in QLD the ac runs a bit too.

  3. How did the radiators fail?

One had a core failure the other had a slight leak from a tank weld from day one, then split about an inch long. These were purchases from the days of cheap s%=t Chinese ebay rads though. They have come a long way lately.

All I was really trying to say was don't buy the cheapest and you should be fine.

  4. Next job is an alloy rad from Ebay, I've finally decided to bite the bullet and buy one. The stock one has worked well, but a hot day trip to the coast and back showed it really battled to drop the temperature around town in traffic.

Be careful with what you buy, ive recently had to freshen up two mates engines that have cooked using the cheaper ebay rads. In saying that some are actually reasonable quality and work well. I'll quiz my mate tonight on the brand he bought, for his wifes FC station wagon, it's a daily drive lpg powered red 186 and never gets hot! I'll let you know in the next day or so.

  5. A dash cam to document the erratic driving of those mother's driving SUV's trying to crash into you as you observe all the road laws whilst they don't indicate to change lanes, cut in on you and sneer under their my family stickers.

    Fixed.

This is more like what i see every time I'm out on the bike.

  6. This is still getting out and about.

    Engine specs now:

    SPS forged 9.5:1 pistons.

    Spool imports conrods.

    ARP head studs.

    Haltech sprint 500.

    Id1000 injectors.

    Journal bearing t04 turbo @ 17psi

    E85 fuel.

It's definitely a big motivation to get the 11 bonkers.

  7. but not entirely sure if you can run a solid valve train on a hydro cam even with hydro-faced solid lifters to suit though... hmmm

I have (which i should send back) one of Tommy's cam and lifters at home, it was reground hydro(by mistake) when he was using a solid setup. God it made a mess!!

Most lobes have been wiped and the lifters are troweled. The ramp rates on a hydro are more aggressive.

  8. My problem is that the AE86 is categorised as a "risk" vehicle for all the reasons you can imagine.

The KE15 was only going to be about $130 odd from memory

My 11 is about $250 for $9k replacement value but I do have 2 cars and 2 bikes insured with them.

  9. ooooooooohhhhh...!

    Cubes..!

Hehehe!! But will require a fair amount of work and dollars to do. I've seen a "fit kit" for an aprillia rs250 and the RZ/Banshee 350 engine, so I've taken some precise measurements and it looks like it will work for the rgv. The big BUT is, it's around a $7-8k exercise! Can get a really nice '08-09 gsxr750 for that alone!!
