any updates on this car? was it ever completed?
-
went in to see the car yesturday, coming along great, well i think so.. They had to relocate the wastegate due to it being in the way of the waterpump. All the oil lines are done, and majority of the parts are on there way... today i painted up a matt black bonnet at work, suprisingly came up better then what i expected...Still a bit wet in this picture tho
-
hey guys wont be bringing the ke26 down as its the same weekend as supernats so ill be driving there, mick will you be coming on the saturday to supernats? if so get a armband and come in the rotor for a spin
-
got a progress call from dale at castle hill, engine is finished (sealed up, injectors in, ready to go) and the tank is measured up and hopefully will be made this week....can't wait
-
cheers for the comments guys, will let you guys know when its first outing will be... but it will be more of a shake down outing...ill be real easy for the first few passes just to get a feel for it.. can't wait...
-
cuzzo: there will be no body work done before its first outing.. It will get the convos back on the front and thats about it... After supernats it will probably get painted and ill start collecting new garnishes and stuff. my main priority at the moment is getting the thing running
-
car has now been shipped to castle hill where it shall be finished off...hopefully everything goes good and i see the track in a month or 2
-
I'm pretty sure scott lives in another state, castle hill i think gives advice to him and they are good mates
-
lol the tuner dale is really good with rotarys on pump, previous work he has done is impressive. And the fabrication side of things, is second to none, there tig welder chris, is probably the best ive ever seen
-
well just got word that its nearly finished at the auto elec, so should be heading down to castle hill exhaust this week to get finished off and i 'should' recieve a running car back
-
and another thing, a few months back the car was in the build section in zoom magazine
-
ok sorry for the late reply guys, specs on the convos are 15x4 at the front, rears are 15x7 with a 3 3/8 backspace i think... Mick: Col potts will be engineering the car And the reverse scoop is on the backburner now, just want to get the car running at the moment.. As for the car itself, well, brakes are all done.. Took a little longer at the shop then i had hoped for, a month and a half to be exact, but I'm happy with the result.. With the hopper stopper kit up front, and the r31 calipers with the el rotors on the rear, line locker plumbed in, vh44 remote booster, and xw/xy master cylinder.. Hopefully she stops.. The car is very very close to being completed now, with all thats left is some wiring work, and then off to Castle hill Exhaust where it will get completed. Fuel tank will be made and fuel system finished and the rest of the car will get finished off and i should recieve back a running tuned car, hopefully by supernats.. But Only being a few months away now i am really doubting whether the car will make it. Cheers for the comments guys

Use Of Vh40/44 Remote Booster In Ke20
13bke26 replied to hemi265ke20's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
ive put a vh44 on my ke26, accompanied by a 1" bore shortened master cylinder from an old falcon but new old stock, bigger brake lines and line locker...I wouldnt bother putitng all this on a stock ke20 honestly... And i would reccomend talking to a brake shop about a brake setup... The only reason i put all that stuff mentioned above is because the car has a 13b turbo in it... -
what a top day....great turnout
-
if i remember correctly i had the engine and box fitted, new manifold, tunnel, and some other little things done for just over 2k
-
lol, no i think the bonnet will become body colour...just want to get it registered first before i do anything fancy like that
-
believe it or not, the reverse bonnet scoop was actually in the future plans for the car...Even got a spare bonnet to use... Thanks for the comments guys

Ok its been a long time since an update so here we go... Starting to see the car come back together now, Gearbox is built and ready to go back in. Diff is built and in the car, rear brakes are on (r31 callipers with el falcon rotors on the hilux diff (thanks to curly for the mounts).. Exhaust is finished from front too back. Cooler piping is finished, oil coolers are in and hoses 99% complete. Dash is trimmed up and ready to go in, other little things have been done also.. Car is currently out getting brake lines made up, line locker put in and master cylinder and remote booster getting put in.. Now time for pics

yeah the guys at pirtek have told me what a shit they can be, and ive seen them done before.. the -6 ones arnt too bad to do, but the -10's are going to be the hard ones ... once i finish making the surge tank, ill start putting the fittings on the hoses..
-
yeah going push lock fittings, seen them used in previous applications and work fine
-
