  1. well the gearbox is out, well the leak is not from the pan, its coming from where che have put the shifter cable bracket..hard to expalin but there is a side cover that they have pulled off and bolted this bracket to, put the cover on and bolted it together...it would require now 2 gaskets but there is only one on there.... what a pain in the ass.. other then a few missing bolts from when they put the car back together its all ok ...wasnt too hard to pull out..but the hoist made it so much easier...now we wait..
  2. so an update... havent really done nothing, plumbed in the oil pressure gauge... all sweet, had a problem with the car not wanting to start.. sounded like no fuel...turns out when castle hill redone the wiring they decided not to put washers on and it had worked the nuts off the 044 pump, not allowing it to turn on. tomorrow I'm towing the car to my work to use the hoist to pull the gearbox out

  6. whats the specs on ur car? auto or manual? engine specs, diff, suspension?
  7. hey mate good to see another 13b in a ke2x...steering is all standard.. just rebushed everything and put new tierod ends and links in...don't want them deathwobbles down the track
  8. so the gearbox will be coming out soon to get checked out for the major delay in reverse and no park issue..builder suspects there might be an issue with the valve body.. As for the noise, its a weird situation, its there, but i put it in first gear, only just bring the revs up and the noise completely goes away, put it into neutral, couple small revs, still no noise....let it idle for a bit and the noise slowly comes back.. any ideas what it could be?

  11. yeah its gotta dipstick...seems to have the oil there but I'm thinking the shop havent run it around to let the oil fill up the converter and the box fully....time will tell.. yeah its getting there...was good running it today
  12. ok so done a bit of investigating today, the gearbox guy is coming here either this weekend or sometime next....but found some problems.. started it up today, first start since getting it home, and there was no noise, ran it for a bit (around 5 mins) and the noise came back.. thinking it might be a lack of oil.. Leak is just coming from the g/box sump, so thats an easy fix.. as for the part where it struggles to get in reverse, I'm also thinking it might be a lack of oil.. but I'm just going to wait till the g/box guy comes around to check it out... also noticed a build up of rubber on the front of the motor.. The alternator looks like its sitting back a little so I'm just wondering whether theres meant to be a spacer to where it bolts on to move it forward.. and the belt was really really loose and making noises so i just tightened it up and its a bit quieter now... Going to be putting a twin pulley set up on it aswell. its getting there :)
  13. yeah its all apart of building cars, always that one thing that goes wrong... this gearbox has been cursed since the start, not being able to find the right starter motor and bellhousing and other things
  14. got the car back today...will do the box when i can be bothered...che said they had tried all the things i said to fix the box so looks like its gonna come straight out and sent away

  16. yeah I'm not going to be running it any more until we actually go to fix it... yeah my bet is that its something to do with the flex plate hitting the bellhousing or something.. it don't idle right because it isnt tuned

  18. went and had a look at the car today, man the motor sounds sweeeet as, but the gearbox does not.. the noise is pretty loud and the leak is pretty bad.. pick it up this week and will get this box done soon
  19. well I'm thinking about taking it elsewhere to get tuned, don't know yet.....there tuning side of things is really good..but i will be asking for a definate price before the car even gets there and a definate time frame for sure.. Yeah hopefully its an easy fix
  20. i got no idea why the charged more then they quoted...put it this way, the final bill is approx $2000 more then quoted... yeah they were saying it was just oil from the box, ill be majorly pissed if its a loose fitting or something fitting related, but if its from the bellhousing I'm going to check the pump.... as for the rubbing inside the bellhousing, I'm not sure what that could be, ill check that out when it all comes back...and no park, ill pull the shifter cable off the box and try and manually put it into park, if it doesnt go in ill be sending it back to the box rebuilder for answers and a repaired g/box
  21. it still starts and runs, so when i get it back ill get a video for yas up.
  22. just my luck. it starts, it goes into gear, oil goes everywhere, no park gear, rubbing inside bellhousing and one expensive bill from che, way way more then i was quoted.... so all in all, something is up with the gearbox, going to get the car back next week 100% and inspect the gearbox, find out why its leaking, whats rubbing and why there is no park....piece of shit!!
  23. just got an email, they have started it, and apparently it sounds like a strong motor. Will be going tomorrow to see it and have a listen.. will be hitting the dyno early next week.. :)
  24. going there today to check progress, called them yesturday and they said they were working on it so who knows?
  25. and with the size of the turbo, it will literally be doing f@$k all....no where near its power potential
