well finally home!!! was a great day for me and the car...Here are the list of times it ran 1. 14.01, 108mph (spun as soon as it came on boost, + it was the 3rd race of the day overall so no grip) 2. 13.33, 111mph (accidentally started in second but no wheelspin and didnt stall it up) 3. 13.25, 111mph (didnt stall it up, spun second) 4. 12.70, 112mph (stalled it up to 2psi no spin) 5. 12.57, 112mph (stalled it up to 5psi no spin) 6. 12.68, 111mph (same as above) 7. 12.90, 111mph (track way to hot car didnt like it) Track was prepped for the big powered cars so i think thats why it didnt spin with the 185's ... Found some little problems with it tho.. Monster tacho only reads to 4000 rpm even tho its doing way more, car runs really hot 200f-220f - might just be because its a hot day but noticed the thermo might be spinning the wrong way so going to change the wires around and see what happens, gearbox no longer has reverse (which i already knew) had a ball out there, really loved doing top gear skids. pulling the valve body out to get checked and getting starter rebuilt this week... ill also ʞ©$ɟ around with the other problems and see what i can fix..

yeah mate, your car has come along way in 3 years...Racing today...all loaded up ready to go

yep its massive fun, powerskids well ;) yes cowl scoop will be on its way soon.. have a few spare bonnets to use.

standard motor tho...so its a top effort i reckon

car made 280hp on 13psi....absolutely stoked on how well it ran on the dyno, started to break down at 7500 but i don't think ill be revving it to that anyway.. If weather is good tomorrow ill be heading to wsid to do a couple of shakedown passes...Took it for a drive and boost comes on really hard...and I'm not used to so much power so ill be taking it easy for the first few weeks..
-
car gets tuned tomorrow! people have been asking me if I'm excited, i say no, I'm more nervous about it getting on the rollers ...hopefully all goes well...this weather looks like its going to be shit for the weekend so looks like no racing for sunday :(
-
wheel alignment done.. all ready to go to the dyno, might get the starter motor rebuilt either before or after... still havent decided
-
Theres my setup...had to elongate one hole but works for me
-
thanks mate, believe it or not justin and i have done most of the fab work ourselves... only the engine mounts and gbox crossmember and one intercooler pipe were done outside our shop....
-

took it for a drive on private proprety, goes really well...my first time driving a really small car with front runners and locker but i think I'm getting used to it.. Goes through all the gears on the street, still having a few problems with reverse but after its tuned on the 10th and raced on the 19th, the g/box builder and i will pull the valve body out and get it tested at craigs automatics.. So excited to get it tuned... have decided to get it tuned on 15psi or between 250-270 rwhp, which ever comes first.
-
gearbox is sorted, car is booked in to get tuned on the 10th...Got a couple little cosmetic things to do inside and out but hopefully all goes well...just have to test car on street this week
-
car is pretty much completed now, except I'm thinking about putting a new shifter cable in as i think this one might be stretched.... I did a little skid on grass aswell to see how the converter is and its tight :)comes on boost nicely, but wont be doing that again till it gets tuned ;) Once the cable is sorted it will be off to get dynoed again

well all the gearbox problems have been solved.. The noise was from the starter motor, Justin (ke26wagon) had an idea that the starter was still engaged by a little bit on the ring gear, so we chucked a couple of spacers between the box and the starter and the noise has gone away...The issue of not going into park, struggling to go into reverse and the leak was caused by the shifter cable bracket that was put on...Put the box in, ran it manually by the lever on the box through the gears and it goes into each gear perfectly.. All dash lights have now been wired up as well as the oil pressure light and shift light, proper wheels have been put back on and all body panels are on.. Had an issue today where i put the dash in and all of a sudden the monster tacho decides not to work., will look in to it tomorrow.. Pics will be up in the next few days..

still got the car? progress on 20b?
-
evan turns out the pump might not be the problem.. box is stripped and there is nothing wrong with it, no shavings in the oil, stripped the pump, everything is good...going to turn my attention now to the converter and the bracket that castle hill made....going to be buying a keas bracket for sure and if that solves the gear selection issue ill be going to castle hill to get some money back..
-
yeah the trans definately has issues as it also has the problem getting into reverse and not even park....although i did have some fun getting it on the trailer, had to keep the revs up as it would stall because it was freezing and only had a base tune in it, it would start getting on boost around 2000 and because its got the front runners on the back (temporarily) it spun a little haha
-
evan when i get the chance ill connect the starter up and see if the noise is gone...didnt pull the sump off to see if there was any metal, gonna leave it for the builder so he can see for himself
-
and i think the noise is definately the pump as there is no rubbing marks in the bellhousing
