  1. yeah, sounds great to me. Count me in!
  2. I would be pushing it to change a falcon auto box with a hoist and transmission stand in 15 mins. Actually it would be impossible for me. That's a bloody good effort!
  3. Aaah madness! I didn't realise anyone would ever identify me. :D :D :D Makes me grin from ear to ear. I would absolutely love to join you boys at a cruise/event in the future. When is the next one?
  4. Thankyou all for your help on this matter It has been much appreciated. You all now have the warm feeling in your hearts that you are a good person cos you helped me. Cheers once more fellas.
  5. yeah i'll be able to get the nut and fuel line out okay. it goes pump-nut-crack-------------------------------------pipe----------------------------------------------------------carby so i'll just get a new pipe from the wreckers i suppose... unless anyone here has one they want to get rid of.. I'm on brissie's northside. Aspley/Chermside. I think the wreckers might be closer than melbourne but thankyou kindly for your offer.
  6. unfortunately the crack is level with the top of the nut no leeway to do anything but replace ie the crack is in the first inch or so of the pipe
  7. ooh ooh i found the problem. The metal pipe that goes from the fuel pump to the carby has a lovely crack in it. anyone know where i can get a pipe that goes from the fuel pump to the carby?
  8. I've tightened the nut as much as it will go. No hose clamps... its like a small metal pipe Pipe looks okay No digi cam
  9. G'day fellas I've got a little problem with my KE55. Big problem actually. I've got a stock 4K-C and it's pissing petrol out of what I believe is the fuel pump. The part is on the line inbetween the fuel filter and the carby so i believe it is the fuel pump. It says "KYOSAN DENKI" on the top. It is little and round. It has a line coming out of it with two brass nuts on it, one large and one small. There is a significant amount of fuel pissing out of the top nut. What is wrong? Is this why I used 30L for 150km? How do i fix it? Do i need a new fuel pump? Cheers guys, you're great.
  10. yooo forgot the XC, yoooooo forgoooot the ecks-see do de do de doo
  11. Well the FX was never an official name for the 48-215, merely a nickname that is thought to originate from Nasco spare parts. The VE isnt a production commodore.... yet.
  12. 48-215, FJ, FE, FC, FB, EK, EJ, EH, HD, HR, HK, HT, HG, HQ, HJ, HX, HZ, (WB), VB, VC, VH, VK, VL, VN, (VG), VP, VR, VS, VT, (VU), VX, VY, VZ I win the Holden effort!
  13. I don't agree. We have about 20 cars in our fleet, about 12 are dual-fuel and the rest are straight gas. The fastest car in the fleet is dual fuel, and the slowest car is too. I see no power loss between straight gas and dual fuel. I have got my name down for one of the cabs already, comes off in June. Ford Falcon AUII, Auto Air Steer Cruise Electric Mirrors Electric Windows $7.60/100km and thats with cabbies driving it, major city cycle. 550,000kms on the clock, painted back to its original colour (metallic red) $5000. You wouldn't know it was a cab. Woo!
  14. i know this. The diff ratios and gear ratios for ke55 4 and 5 speeds are identical, except that the 5-speed has overdrive. KE55's have Borg Warner 4.11:1 diffs. I can remember 4th is 1:1. I can't remember/don't know anything else.
  15. what is a lanesplitter
  16. When I left school, i didn't know whether i wanted to be a Mechanic or a Computer Technician. I started tafe in IT and became a taxi mechanic's hand part time. I tell you, i know why most mechanics are sick of it after 15 years, I'm almost sick of it after 3 years part time. Cars suck when they fall apart.
  17. does anyone know the power/torque specs for either of these motors?
  18. cheers fellas gee i love rollaclub
  19. do you mean tramp as in the annoying habit my car has when i try to drop a big burnout, the rear end just skips and hops and doesnt do a nice clean smoker
  20. Hi All, My brother is looking for a car and just wants some specs on a Toyota Corona. He is looking at the 84-87 models (T142 i believe the model is). Does anyone know what sort of motor they use? I know they mainly had 2.0L motors but some CSI/Avante models had 2.4L's. He wants a corona particularly cos its rear wheel drive and he wants something a bit bigger than a corolla, but still a legendary toyota. Does anyone have any ideas about what motors these cars had, and whether they were carby/efi, powerful or not (kw), good on the fuel etc etc. Cheers oh and i have googled but my search didnt come up all that fruitful.
  21. Google knows the score on everything. Try this: If you type in: Everything but toyotas isnt shit, google will say Did you mean: Everything but toyotas is shit? Try it for yourself! http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&safe...nG=Search&meta= Also, try: paris hilton isnt a whore did you mean: paris hilton is a whore
  22. okay i'll try and get pictures i think if i were to sell it i would have to fix it up a bit though, especially the rust and damage.
  23. Hi all I work for Yellow Cabs y'see, and we've got a few nice taxis coming off the road soon which I'm thinking of maybe buying. To buy one of these, i'd have to sell the Corolla. I was just wondering what the car might be worth? October 1980 KE55 CS (Square Headlight) Mechanically Stock Reconditioned 4K-C Factory 5-speed, mudflaps, very shiny stock wheels Canary Yellow (Still very shiny) Complete 4-Speaker VQ Statesman Stereo with Statesman (tempramental) six-stack cd player) Near new Dashmat, floormats, weathershield, seat covers, brake master cylinder, accellerator cable, water pump, spark plugs, air filter Recently tuned, pretty quick for a ke55 Good on the fuel ($9 or $10 per 100km) Everything works pretty well Starts first time, every time, even at 4am after sitting for 3 days. Tyres (175/70R13s) are alright 330,000km since new (log books/owners manual to prove it, currently 5th owner) Problems: Bit of rust here and there, bit of a bent passengers side front guard/fender, not too bad though. Speedo reads about 5-10km out (within legal 10% margin). Its a good little car, i just prefer automatic six-cylinders i suppose, especially if they're on LPG. I'm not asking anyone to want to buy it, but just what you reckon i could get for the car (maybe here, maybe paper, (i don't want a redbook/tradein price, they are too vague for an old car)). If you could give me two figures, one unreg and one with a roadworthy(not fixed rust) and 2-3 months rego, i would greatly appreciate it.
  24. Here here listen up. I have driven ALOT of cars in my time. I have even drifted a taxi. Drifting is SLOWER! Y'see, the whole purpose of a motor in a car is to make the car move. To do this, you need the power to the ground. Whilst drifting, you have next to no power to the ground. I drive the same route to my girlfriends house every time and have done so for the past few years. I KNOW the quickest way is NOT to DRIFT. The quickest way is grip. I have tested this in a: * KE55 * Widebody Camry * Narrowbody Camry * New Echo * ED Falcon * VH Commodore * AU Taxi And I guarantee you the quickest way is grip. From brand new fats on the VH to bald retreads on the ED, grip is quicker. How do you drift a Widebody Camry? Haha! Now thats another story...
  25. Yeah, i like.
