Ok, what do people with quiet large brakes (i.e. hixlux/lundcrusier brakes) use for spare tires. My 14inch rims fit nicely over mine, but when I use a 14inch steelie it fouls the brake. Any suggestions on what to use?

well i guess ill update.... finished the rear gurd wells, if you didnt know, there were badly rusted so there were all cut out and then filled with firbeglass. The out side is almsot finished with just the fuel tank bit to go. Anyway droped the diff in, because i couldnt find the gresse for the front bushses. That should be a job for tomrow. Going to try geting a lift pump aswell. Done alot of randomstuff that ove lost track of. So yeah Also need a ajustble panhard rod

yes, but there a thing called the conservation of energy :bash: And then typing that, I realised its linked to the engineering part (I was just thinking to ignore the intense speeds) in assuming there would be no heat :D My bad. Brain fart

i see were you getting at. The plane is beeing pushed through the air by the jets, even if the wheels are doubling in speed the plane still goes foward like normal. But if the wheel speeds have doubled the belt doubles as well.... And it contunies like this. But all the energy would be converted into trying to make the wheel spin faster. leving none for the plane to move forward. Unless you just ingnor that, then yeah it will take off then.....

yes but they are still pyhicly linked. I'm not saying the wheels drive the plane. Trying jump with you chair, but insted of pushing on the ground push on the legs (spinny rotating chair)

AHH. They push air. It dosnt matter though. The wheels/skids are still linked to the motors. I still can not see, in ANY situation they plane taking off. You have to throw petrol powerd planes don't you? If you just hold them (sitting on you palm) in you hand, they don't fly! You can try this at home. Get a model plane and put it on a treadmill

well, the plane is regersting its moving 300km/h (my eg) but when you looking at it on the belt, its not moving at all. The wheel keep it moving until there enough speed to lift itself off the ground? Insted of having wheels and a belt, just have no wheels at all and make sure it can no go forward. will it still take off? The belt does nothing except keep the plane from moving.

The way I see it fly's because of wind resistance not because of the engine thrust, if that makes sence? Red engine thrust, green air resistance over plane as it goes forward.. well according to the question, the belt can go as fast as the wheels at any given time. So if there going 300km/h for take off (out of my ass figure) That means the belt is going -300km/h. 0 air speed, therfore no wind resitance. The plane can still go forwar realtive to its self, but from 3rd person its still 0

No, because the belt is compensating for the thrusting forward force. Ok, this is how I believe the jets power a plane. As they spin up, they exhaust faster air than they put in. Creating forward thrust. When a plane lines up to take off, the wheels act as kind of like 'back up wing' they don’t have anything to do with flying at all. As the engines create more thrust the planes gets faster until the point were the air resistance against the plane is great enough for the wings to do there thing (lift off). So as soon as it does, the wheels become useless. And then they jets continue powering the plane though out the flight. Right?

I still have one. A plane that is stationary. But with its jets at an infinite speed. Still take off?? There would be such minimal air passing over the wings? Unless there is some sort of inane vetri effect going on that I don’t know about? another eg. if you have a jet powered go kart. There is no driving force on the wheels, just the trust of the jet. You put it on this conveyer belt. Start it up, it dosnt move. If you stick you hand out of the side of the kart. Is there any wind? (Excluding the rush of air coming from the belt)

The wheels are only turning because of the trust created by the engines, right? (going foward) They are not blowing on the wings. The way I see it, is that the wheels are only there to support the plane until it has enough speed to take off and can be supported by its own air speed? Then how can a plane take off if its net speed is 0?

Yes, but that air speed is created by the planes forward motion through air, made possible by freewheeling. >>> (Jet Propulsion) <<< (belt) No net speed = No air flowing over wings = no low pressure

I duno if I'm missing something, but when the convey goes in the opposite direction, its canceling out any movement therefore the toatal movement is 0, the wheels only provide free movement until the plane has enough speed to lift it self off the ground (created by wind passing over the wings, low pressure and so on) in all the planes ive seen, the jets do not create the wind, but just propel the plane forward. So all the energy thats been put in trying to move the plane foward (jets) has just been wasted since the convery is absorbing all its forward speed.
