  1. Thanks for being so informative Jamie but I knew that from when I put on a new steering wheel :D I'll have another look for the horns themselves soon, its not as obvious on KE70's I've heard some pretty funny/awesome horns before... someone once even tried to tell me they had a friend of a friend with a TRAIN horn in their car... I wonder if there's a rule in DB comps against that? lol
  2. Hoping for a simple answer to this one Where is the horn in a KE70? I want to swap it for the KE30 one I have its funky and less raspy
  3. Coventry Auto Parts. or the wreckers as forementioned
  4. noob question: what's the difference between sidedraught and SU and what does SU stand for?
  5. Nice Tutorial Teddy :( Professionals who do custom car interiors tend to use cardboard to make templates for panels like this. They sit it where the panel is going to go and cut/glue more on until its perfect. This idea is very versatile!
  6. nice work mate :(
  7. hehe yeah sort of.... both being confused about head swaps between K motors and what could possibly go wrong... :)
  8. 5K block, flat top pistons and 4K head is my current plan :D
  9. you don't need to READ the whole wiki, look for a table in the K series block section, its got some useful stats on all the engines :D
  10. i still reckon the mirage stripes are good
  11. read the rollaclub wiki mate K series engines : blocks
  12. ich will
  13. no no i'm talking about a 5K block :harhar:
  14. ok now I'm confused, i was referring to heads like a 3K bigport, which gives 10 to 1 compression?
  15. ok i knew all of that except you gain compression, thats the idea
  16. I understand that K heads are interchangeable between K blocks... Is there any issue with heads that are designed for blocks with a smaller bore going onto bigger-bore blocks? example: 3K or 4K head on 5K. Is there more to it than just bolting it on with a new gasket? :harhar:
  17. thanks jamie that was really quite helpful :harhar:
  18. because google is more informative than most people except for you guys i guess, feel free to explain if you can be bothered :harhar:
  19. what the hell is this thing The thing in the second picture. It's attached to the bottom of the block and pokes out into the sump. I'm guessing something to do with oil. Name the part so i can google it? :harhar: Cheers
  20. except for the pedal to floor measurement.
  21. oh yeah its huge, i have the dump truck version of a KE70 don't mind me beng a tripper, divide it by ten. lol
  22. if you're talking to me, hopefully around 1grand all up, honestly i don't really care, it will be completed over time if you were planning on saying "u would be better off doing something else" i've already thought about it. given that I don't have much mechanical knowledge or experience, 5K is a good idea because of how simple the swap is going to be. same gearbox, same mounts, etc. they're cheap too, and go alright from what i hear.
  23. nick, you scored an ex-rally engine or?..
  24. oookay.... i think the details that i gave about HOW i did it would be different for his interpretation
