  1. Hey everyone. I was just wondering where abouts would be a good place in the act to get a k motor built for boost??? Is there somewhere that know's these engines well??? Cheers Matt
  2. thanks guys appreciate the help :'(
  3. is a surge tank actually needed? also where could i put one in a wagon? it would have to be underneath to be legal? correct?
  4. please don't tell me you scrapped the car man. its a inspiration for me
  5. hey everyone, i wanna get into circuit track racing. just would like to know how to go about it? i'm located in the ACT. Cheers Matt
  6. sweet as i might start searching ebay
  7. ok, so to get this done on the cheap, i'm guessing, turbo, j pipe, charade turbo carby, rr reg, cooler, piping and box the carby?
  8. brakes, diff and suspension can be updated later on down the track. i just want to get it running at 1st.
  9. yeah was reading through your project thread and got up to the BOV bit and got kinda worried lol. so i'll get a RR reg and a weber and make up an airbox and what not  just gotta get the car registered 1st again now.
  10. just after reading a fair bit, i'm also gonna run a plumb back BOV when the rolla gets a turbo and gonna get one for the vl also. as the vl's got no BOV and running a 2k turbo, rather not kill it quicker, hide the cooler and do that no cop will know it's turbo  pretty sure i've worked it all out, just need to know about fuel supply. will the standard carby re jetted be enough? should i upgrade fuel pump? and will a rising rate reg be required? Cheers Matt
  11. yeah i'm more leaning for a sr20 for the sheer factor of bigger motor means more torque :P and i love torque  for the time being i've decided to turbo the spare 5k i got here. but in about a year or so i'll put in an sr20, just an n/a then turbo it after i get used to the sr20 and bored with it lol. all i can think of needing is: motor gearbox loom ecu engine mounts gearbox x member tailshaft fuel pump return line work out something for radiator will i need to bash out the gearbox part (forgot name lol) to fit the gearbox in?
  12. so would i also be required to run a rising rate fuel reg for the carby? or just box it and tune it? also am i able to just use the standard carby for now if i re jet it and that?
  13. i don't understand when it comes to carby. and i still have the vl. and it's still turbo, but it's also efi. i know basically nothing about carby's. the exhaust and cooler part of it i know, but the fuel part i can't work out. and don't understand having the carby in a box. it confuses the hell outta me. the vl was easy, pluged in the turbo ecu. swapped the injectors over to turbo ones, bolted on the turbo ran the oil and water lines, ran the cooler piping, mounted the cooler. hooked it up the throttle body. i just don't understand carby's also, i'm running a 35/40 with a 1.06 rear on the vl. i'm not sure about what size turbo would work well with the 5k. considering they don't rev high and they only 1.5L or so. so i want something that'll have boost early.
  14. i've used a monsta turbo before on my vl and never had any problems with it. and that same turbo is now on my mates lj torana that's running a vl turbo (rb30et) engine in it. so i'm not worried about using a monsta turbo, plus the corolla is a daily for now. i'm just addicted to boost :P so wan't it boosted:p so i'd need turbo, oil lines, j pipe, dump/down pipe, cooler and piping. does the carby need changing? and also how do those boxed carby setup's work? i don't understand that idea...
  15. yeah speedflow's good, got all speedflow fitting's for the turbo on my vl. prob go with a j piped t25/t28 with a cooler on a blow through setup. what carby would be best suited? or at least work? pretty much just want it boosted :D later on like in a year or more i'll go with a 4agte or sr20det. but for now just wanna boost the 5k witha 5 speed in it :P also how would this turbo go for sizing on a 5k? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MonstA-T25-T28-400H...A1%7C240%3A1318
  16. i'm keen on 2 white stickers :D and it's my b'day in 7 days :P
  17. how much would you roughly be chasing? :P
  18. i have a spare 5k here. my uncle who i live with is telling me to go with an sr20. how much would it cost to build a turbo 5k? plus tuning etc.
  19. so for just say the time being. if i were to just say want to get the motor in and running for now and not worry about any of the other things just yet, how much would i possibly be looking at just for that? as i already got to go through the engineering with my vl, just want the rolla for now to get the motor and box in and running then once th vl's done i'll go do the rest on the rolla and finish of the rest of it. wanting to go with an sr now as i've decided on an end goal of about 200rwkw. will just start with an sr20de and 5 speed on standard managemant. cheers Matt.
  20. would an sr20det be engineerable? i'm in act. also would it cost anymore then a 4agte conversion?
  21. hey everyone. just wanting to know what's the cheapest way to go about getting 100kw atw in my ke36. currently has a 5k in it. just wanna know the cheapest way to get there reliably??? which engine would be the way to go etc. would building the 5k do the job? or turbo/supercharge etc. or would it be cheaper to get there by fitting a 4age?
  22. act also has no p plate restrictions:)
  23. farout, didn't think it'd cost that much
  24. if i had a tape measure i'd go open the bonnet on my vl turbo lol. but now decided be smarter to stick with a 4 cylinder. how much does it normally cost to get a 4age and in and running. like the all up total? cheers Matt.
  25. i remember seeing a ke20 with an rb30et in it, so is it to long for the ke3x bay?
