  1. ok so an update on the turbo situation... so far i havent been able to figure out what size thread the oil feed is on the turbo so i may have to go to a banjo fitting from the current dash fitting :P damn chinese why couldnt they make it the same size as the garrett... also i havent been able to get a price on headbolts yet so pretty much since my last post ive made absolutely no progress... actually i did buy a gasket for the dump pipe ;)
  2. mine :P its definitely worth it if you have patience, good mates and about 10 grand ;)
  3. wiring problem definitely... check all wiring around combination switch, brake light switch, tail lights... also if you have a trailer plug harness make sure that it isnt damaged, as if its been scraping and now wires are exposed, this exact problem will occur
  4. yeh i thought about doing something like this to my girlfriends car, same spec as urs... going from carby to efi is no easy feat as you need to put in a whole new fuel system, fuel lines, etc... computer.... wiring.... ive done a ca18det conversion to my ae71 corolla (was 4ac carb) and so far including buying the car its cost over 10 grand... but thats a bit harder than dropping in a same family engine... sell ur ae92 and buy an ae93 with 4age from factory... then if you still want to you can turbo/supercharge it
  5. are you using a spray gun or cans ;) can you come paint my car :y: what else you got planned for it... need any 4ac bits?
  6. yeh i have carls number hes always after cashies, does them out of his house at stones corner pm me or WinKE55 and go from there... he tinted my missus's ae92 in darker than legal, whoops i mean legal ;) tint... he always does a top job
  7. yeh, will do... i did question the price definitely, i had to rotate the bearing housing 180 degrees to make the oil drain face the right way so i took the liberty of pulling both housings right off and having a look, both wheels look identical to the garett items and it looks pretty well screwed together, but then again you never know until youve driven it for a while... basically they are developed the same way hypergear ones are using parts from different manufacturers. i also was never sure about those monsta t3/t4's but i know of at least 4 people running them for the past 2 years with no problems at boost levels ranging from 9-20 psi
  8. well shes off the road for a while again, head gasket is leaking oil and I'm puttin my new turbo on and gettin the injectors cleaned... and new injector plug wiring.... new turbo is heaps bigger! pics below
  9. damn right just finished my CA conversion into my AE71... was worth it!
  10. yeh definitely! i get my license back in april, how long i keep it is another thing entirely :jamie: ,so il be coming out for as many cruises as i can... until then i gota do injector plug wiring, fix one of the coils, put new turbo on and finish doing the catch can
  11. just chill it and save til you get your gze... then go gte :)
  12. haha its running now dude I'm putting my catch can in this weekend so it stops pissing oil out when i drive it... its a return system so the elbow above the oil filter is uncovered atm thats why its pissin oil out... couldnt wait to drive it lol :D anyway CA vs 4AGE has been done... beat my mates ke70 with 125hp atw 4AGE no worries...

lol i wish id taken that advice! my LHR guard looks like chocolate marble cake!!!! lol... nothin rong with slanty fronts!!!
  14. yeh right, it wouldnt beat the new ones, no way!....... 18-19 pound? I'm pretty sure the t25 compressor just makes heat after 14psi!!!!!!!!! but then again i just bought one of those KLS t28's i know i know chinese crap but its better than runing a f*cked t25 and plus on 12psi on a standard computer it will make heaps more power with a bit more ignition timing over a f@$ked t25, albeit loss in response, CA18's are not the definition of response to begin with anyways... i still love it lol
  15. well, took it for its first drive the other day and all this effort was worth it, it goes fkn hard as on only 9psi... has a little boost spike up to 10 but il put that down to how i have the boost controller setup (lines are a little long), anyhoo as soon as i get my mate finishes my catch can il put up completed pics and make a few vids to link to!... btw what boost have people run on a CA reliably? i was thinkin maybe put it up to 12?
  16. sorry computer f@$ked out last night here is the rest of the pics, video wont work
  17. OK so its finnally running.... took about 30m mins to start I'm assuming due to lifters bleeding up and also injectors took a while to start workin as well, once i got it running it was missfiring so i took out all the coils and found 3 were missing the spring and carbide tip so i masacred some dizzy caps and problem solvered  exhaust is now on il post a video up if i can figure out how, the video is of the first time it ran well with only the split dump pipe on. anyway any questions or comments appreciated.... also if anyone has a t25 or t28 i need one cos mine is frikkin loud as, lol bearings are fingered, anyway enjoy!
  18. not tryin to discredit you or anything but the odds of that happenin are zero to none, with the conditions he stated the friction material has totally disintegrated leaving the clutch plate useless. he will be up for a clutch kit and depending on the extent of damage the flywheel may have to be replaced but, as you always do when you replace a clutch, will definitely need to be machined. replace the clutch and inspect everything else on reassembly. also with the k's on the car i would definitely look at replacing the throw out bearing and spigot bush/bearing and also rear main seal, regardless of condition. just not worth pullin the box back out again if one of them fails to
  19. air in the system will cause disengagement problems... has nothing to do with clutch slip as there is no hydraulic pressure in the system when the clutch is engaged.... basically your clutch is fingered unless you have completely stripped all teeth in the gearbox which i highly doubt
  20. cheers mate il do that and let you no if it still don't work
  21. yep parkers work sweet and power both sides of fuse
  22. oh sweet thats good to hear yeh the loom i have was out of my mates ca18 ke70 so everything has already been made to plug in but as you would know plug in is a very loose term. any ideas on why the dash backlite is inop? i have checked fuses next step is pullin out cluster and tracing wires using the diagrams you sent me
  23. ive hooked up most of the wiring for my ca18 conversion but i can't remember what the voltage regulator that is bolted to the passenger side suspension tower is for? any one know for sure? ive been told it may be for my cluster gauges but id like a definite answer to be sure. also i have connected the battery and my dash lights don't work...
  24. i have a box of excellent condition 4ac parts that no one seems to want
  25. cheers mate :D
