  1. lol sounds like people wana go sooner than later... should be up for this one if the rolla doesnt shit itself again hehe I'm sure it wont... :) i reckon we make the meet up earlier though... bout 10... bcoz that way we will definitely be able to set up in daytime and we also have more time to allow for people that are late, (or can't keep up!)... 4k's... cough cough :y: lol jkz
  2. 12v ignition wire to computer was shorting on the cyl head... traced that wire back to the gauge fuse in the fuse box but its wierd cos it was still lighting up the test light on both sides? anyway fixed the blown fuse and secured the wiring and re insulated it... all good now... strange tho
  3. cancel that, fixed it
  4. yeh ive tested all those fuses and they are all ok... do you have the ignition wiring diagrams for ae71?
  5. ok so i was leavin comp tuning and it started missing, i pulled over and checked the afm, cas, tps etc all ok, stopped missing, went to repco, bought some shit then as i left, i reversed out of the drive way, went to take off and the car died, i have no ignition power to the computer, the fuel gauge don't work, the handbrake light don't work, but the stereo works and the clock works... have checked all fuses and relays can't fault it. on the firewall, in the engine bay is the standard connector for start and ignition power, there is start signal but no ignition power to the computer but there is ignition power at the ignition switch and at the 2 connectors after it? really annoying and i will figure it out eventually but any help would be much appreciated
  6. T-18 and JDM AE86 bolt straight in and have thicker axles and LSD... have heard of some using Tarago diffs as well but they require modification
  7. i had some guy follow me for like 10 mins cos he thought i stole his car lol... also is it counted as positive attention when HSV drivers get angry at you for beating them? get that alot! haha
  8. I'm down... as long as a few other people come
  9. get your mechanic to put a TK tester on it, it checks for exhaust gases in the coolant, you could have a cracked head which would explain the symptoms your describing, as the head heats up it expands and if there is a crack there it will open up.
  10. this is gona be one nice... and different... ke30, if you do the vn v6, consider running a turbo setup, for the v6 they are relatively straight forward and cheap, you wont need to run much boost, say 5 or 6 pound, in a ke30 as the torque alone will be enough on the street for a ke30... happy time :jamie:
  11. yep I'm down whenever its definite
  12. yeh no worries i will post it up in my poject thread when i do it.... anyway now that i actually have a diff whens the next cruise?
  13. lol the whole diff is one big weak point the axles snap to... but it was the spiders that let go... luckily i had a spare so just changed the bent axle out of the spare and shes all good again... no more clutching for me until i get the hilux rear end
  14. yeah my diff imploded on friday night anyway,
  15. sounds good I'm in... don't keep the same route though, for boredom and cops sake... also change meeting spots between a set spot on southside and set spot on northside to keep all brissy members happy
  16. was thinkin more saturday this wkend... camping is not til 1st may.... should get as many people together as we can, maybe go have a bbq if you guys wana do a daytime thing or go mountain run if ya like nighttime better? still plenty of time to plan
  17. get my licence back on saturday and the beast registered on thursday so I'm very very extremely keen for a cruise.... is anyone else keen? let me no your ideas for meeting/ destination points?
  18. haha thats it... car is being registered sometime next week whenever i get a day off work and then straight to the dyno to get CAS set and wastegate actuator rod adjusted... think its running a bit to much boost, actually i know it is cos its gettin boost cut :) anyway i get my license back in 2 weeks so watever cruise is on il be there
  19. how else do us rolla fanatics help support the dying economy :D:):)
  20. lol i really really hope i don't have the engine out again... the cross member uses rb30 engine mounts so all you do is raise the engine on a crane and bolt the mounts onto the engine then sit the cross member upto the mounts and its easy as to mark where you need to cut and weld.... UPDATE!!!: car is at work gettin a roadworthy atm... i get my liscence back on 10 april so i will be out cruising after that... until the diff lets go. but then YAY for kevin rudd we get 900 bucks so il do something about the diff when that comes through!
  21. ok its running again with the new turbo on it, full boost at 4500 running on 12psi, slight miss when it gets hot cos of one of the coils missing the carbide tip, but it really goes better then i expected!! catch can turned out good to, goin on the dyno in the next month to get the wastegate actuator and ignition timing set properly... getting a roadworthy as we speak and registered soon :lolcry: :) heres a pic!
  22. how many other sensors can make a car shut down? depending on the setup, ckp, cmp, water temp sensor, tps... unless there is a problem with the CAN BUS system... yes also ecu damage, but normally when an ecu is damaged (capacitors etc) the problem will not be intermittent, it will be there all the time
  23. Crank angle sensor refer my previous post
  24. i agree with the idea of ignition module or crank angle sensor... when you say it jerks under heavy load is it a missfire or boost surge? when a factory computer sees overboost it will cut timing right back which can cause that problem... use a gauge connected to your wastegate actuator and see what pressure it opens at and compare that to factory spec... crank angle sensors are known to break down when they are faulty and heat up... if there is a correlation in the signal coming from the sensor, the car will not start as ckp signal is one of 4 base signals needed to run any engine... use an oscilliscope to check the signal under cold start then when the car shuts down again, crank it and see what sort of signal is coming out... hope this helps you a little
  25. the only reason you need an adjustable fuel press. reg. is if you are chasing big HP and need to fine tune or if you are turbocharging a factory NA engine... other than that they have little to no use except for bling factor... IMO don't waste your money or time unless either of the previous applies to you... the factory reg will regulate pressure accordingly just fine
