i have a rear demister? alright. I'm pretty sure that the reverse lights aren't hooked up, but if they don't work when i wire them up ... then i know 1 potential problem. Cheers dude. Dyzza

oh good! my ke30 has extractors with a pea shooter exhaust. the last owner had a 2" on it but thought it was too loud, so put a pea shooter back on. I'll probably go with 1.75", i don't want anything too loud myself. been there done that! Dyzza

Hmm ... i'll clean it up a bit and have a closer look, the wire might have just snapped off or something ... This is just one thing on my list of things to fix or replace (horn, squeaky carby, smaller carby jets, rims, exhaust ...) Dyzza

hey i can only find one plug coming off the gearbox. Does the 2nd plug come out from the same point ? if it does, then it must have snapped off or something ... coz there is only one plug on there :S Cheers, Dyzza

Alright, its put aside ;) 1500m ... yeah tru dat. They are supposed to have 3ks worth, but they get pretty messy after 1500m. should be good enough to keep in touch with the front car from the rear :y: Dyzza hmm Am i gonna be the only person drivin a 2 door ke30? i know there are a couple ke35 HARDTOPs coming (rolla boy, fook) , i was just wonderin if i'll be allll alllooone. hmm ... maybe you can help with a valve getting stuck! I've used some oil stabiliser which has decreased the problem by 50% but still occasionally PSSHS almost like a blow off valve (with loss of power) :hammer: ... usually when the motor is cold. don't mean to hijack the thread, but yeah seems relevant. dodgiest mod hey ... the last guy who had my car for some reason decided to butcher a hole in the left guard and put in an aerial. When i got the car, there was no aerial there - just a ~25mm gaping, hacksawed hole, staring me in the face :y:. Makes me wonder why there is no aerial on the exterior driver's side pillar :hammer: Dyzza

ah cheers dude. there is probably another plug on top of the gearbox somewhere, i'll just poke around the dirt/grease to find it. I'll keep ya posted. Cheers, Dyzza

i don't think the headrests are particularly ugly. I might have to get some nice seat covers, that would look hot. The seats make a big difference, makes the car seem newer than it is! sr20det or 13bt ? well that depends if you want any sort of fuel economy, or very low quarter mile times. you're 18. i'd go the sr20det anyday. i'm not a big fan of the s13 sr20det's, being pushrod motors and all, but it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper to run than a rotary turbo. Also would be easier to get engineered too. Dyzza

hey guys Is anyone else gonna have a UHF cb with them on the cruise? They're tops. I think i've got a spare if anyone needs one ... Dyzza

:hammer: the plane must be a woman, because a) its expensive as all f@$k and b) it is stubborn and wont move I personally think the plane is a hoochy mumma because its so big it has to live in a hanger, and weighs 180 tonnes Dyzza

hey Got a call back from the blokes up the road, gettin studs brough up from NSW somewhere for $6 a pop. I'm cheerin' ... They won't be here till after the new year, hopefully in time for the 8/01 cruise up here! I might eventually put longer studs + spacers on the rear, but at the moment you can't really notice that they are sittin too far in. Longer studs + spacers on the rear means an extra 30.99 and 48 bucks... that's a new set of 6 x 9s! Dyzza

Yeah dude that would be sweet~! I found two plugs around the shifter under the carpet. They joined the loom than runs towards the rear of the car. The plugs are the cylindrical types. The plug on the gearbox is a single wire, a square plug (those ones, once clipped, you have to put that bit in to get it undone). Is one of the 2 inside the cabin likely to go to earth, with the gearbox plug being rigged up to the other ? Cheers, Dyzza

hey guys my little ke30 was an auto from factory (well thats what the little 'automatic' badge tells me on the boot :)). since i've had the car, the reverse lights haven't been working. From the engine bay, i can see the plug on top of the gearbox to send the signal to the rear of the car. But .. i can't find a plug coming from the loom to rig up to go to that plug. The answer might be obvious for some guys on here, but i'm clueless. I was just wondering if there was a similar style plug on the auto gearboxes. If not, i'll have no troubles riggin up some reverse lights myself. Oh yeah, it was the last owner that put in the 5 speed. Anyways, thanks for ya time Dyzza

the wheels touch the strut pretty hardcore without spacers, as in, you can't tighten the nuts up properly - and would get positive camber. and car barely moves. Does that clear it up :) The nuts i have are like little tubes, they have a locknut that does them up (locknut goes inside the nut; wheel brace goes on end of locknut like a normal corolla nut ... joisus i hope that makes sense). You mentioned i wouldn't need longer studs ... I think i might still. With the rims on with the spacers, the nuts only do up approx 3.5 full turns from when they first screw onto the thread until they are tight as. What do you think rolla_boy ? I don't think thats enough hey. Cheers, Dyzza

A lot of the bucket seats are stiff as all hell. Not the best option if its a daily driver like mine is... These are the seats in mine, the last owner put them in, out of a 87 or somethin prelude (hey it may be Honda but these seats kick ass): These have even got the adjuster so you can adjust the lower part of the seat in or out (for lower back comfort), and the upper part of the seat. They aren't engineered unfortunately, on my to do list. Dyzza

:) tool ... yeah i didn't take ya seriously, but thought 'that don't sound right ... ' I'm still up in the air abooot it all  Dyzza oh yeah, nearly forgot. I got a pair of spacers today. The tool at autobarn claimed they were 6mm, but i honestly thought they were at least 8. Anyways, when i measured them up, they were 7 :y: . i put em on the front to see how they sit. With 7mm, the tyre sits 3 or 4mm away from the front strut .. pretty close i guess. while i was there, i got quotes on wheel studs - 12 bucks a pop :y:. *cough* ripoff * cough *. I stopped at the local joint up the road where the blokes know me, they are orderin some in for me a lot cheaper. the 12bucks included the stud and the nut, but i just need the studs (i don't need any nuts - got plenty of those ... hehe ). :) Dyzza

yeah but it was well put by super jamie - why risk it. Sure the rims look nice, but i could just flog them off and buy a new set for a few extra hunjed bucks. Or i could leave the 15s on the rear as they are now, and put on them 14" 5 spokers i have on that corona in the backyard ... paint em the same colour too. Cheers for the replies, Dyzza

don't people get it ? The wheels aren't car wheels, they aren't attached to the engines. They FREESPIN. It doesn't matter how fast they spin (within reason) or which direction, the plane will STILL go forward when the jets are switched on. 4 Jets on full throttle won't be stopped by the plane's tyres freespinning on the conveyor belt --> there is no friction. Rolla boy i'm with you here ...

Yep. I only just discovere this thread, been frustrated reading some of the stubborn values that people were sticking to ! ARG! plane will workey. Refer to Ancullen's post on previous page. LOCK!

Cheers dude I have a feeling the bearings are rooted. The rear ones were anyways. Yeah i need some split pins. Pain in the ass hey? ah well ... for interests sake, how much did you change the offset by ? 10mm? thats a guess at what i need to change on mine ... With the rear tyres, did you bother putting spacers on them? My rims should be sitting ~10mm further out then they currently are. Cheers, Dyzza
-
yikes, ten bucks a stud. ah well, it'll be worth it. When you put in the new studs, do you need to put in new front wheel bearings by any chance? when i had the wheels off the car the other day, i was poking around, and got as far as undoing the 4 nuts holding the 'stud plate' (what else would you call it?), then realised that to pull the plate off, the bearing would come with it. I guess it won't fall apart like when you pull the rear axles out... Thanks for the help but Dyzza
-
hmm... sounds like a plan. Rolla boy did you just get your studs from a local auto place ( repco or something )? What about your spacers? Autobarn do sell some kinds up here, all i have seen so far is one suited for a 5 stud-pattern. These rims should be on the car come january, cruise time! Dyzza
-
hey fellas Yeah i'll be at the cruise for sure. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Sweet, my first rolla cruise ... if you don't know who i am, just look at my number plates :) Dyzza
