  1. Thanks for the offer. The model KE35-KXXB doesn't seem to exist as far as the internet is concerned. I know it's an Australian built 1977 and I suspect that it's late that year but that's all I know. Would be great if I can get a month for it.
  2. G'day, I'm glad to see people still use the forums, Facebook groups suck. I did a quick search and there doesn't appear to be a thread dedicated to Toyota Electronic Parts Catalogues (EPC's), so I've started one. I've found these sites. I haven't used all of them, so I don't know how far back they go or how accurate their info is. https://toyota.epc-data.com/ http://www.japan-parts.eu/ https://toylexparts.com/ https://www.toyodiy.com/parts/ I have just re-installed the 2004 Toyota EPC with CD's: General A1 General A2 General B1 General B2 Euro A1 Euro A2 Euro B1 Euro B2 Frame F1 (Japan) Frame F1 (Overseas) Frame F2 (Overseas) Japan A1 Japan A2 Japan B1 Japan B2 Japan B3 Toyota EPC USA 2004 A1 Toyota EPC USA 2004 A2 I've also just acquired a 1997 EPC with CD's: Japan 1997 A1 Japan 1997 A2 If someone has a FTP site with more then 3.4GB, then 2004 catalogue could be shared. The 1997 catalogue is only 500MB. The reason that I'm working on EPC's is, that I'm trying to find info on my 1977 KE35. My compliance plate fell off not long after I got it (2007/2008) and the rego has the wrong details on it (original sale date, 09/1978, when the first owner purchased it from a Toyota dealer was used). I'm hunting parts again and an accurate details would make it easier. If anyone has an EPC that covers the Australian built KE3x series', I'd love to get a copy from you.
  3. I've taken the bits I needed from a KE70. The hard part is the evaporator (indoor unit). Anyone have details of fitting one in a KE3x?
  4. I always get a warm fuzzy feeling seeing an old hardtop getting restored properly :lolcry: Good work.
  5. If it's getting crushed, what condition is the rear bumper in? Any chance I could buy it if it's straight?
  6. Just cars are a rip off and should be avoided at all costs. Congrats on getting it rego'ed by the way.
  7. Hey Jip, what's the name of the wrecker. Is the car still whole enough to last till November? That's when I'll be back. It looks like there are a couple of different ways to fix this problem which is good to know.
  8. But it will be difficult for me to find another KE35 at a wreckers, that I can nick the plate off of. It may be different for Jip depending on which of his fleet lost it's plate.
  9. Going by one of the posts above, I'm guessing that it'll just cost us $100 for a mod plate if QLD Transport crack the s#!ts.
  10. Is that the wreckers out on the Warrego Highway north of Ipswich? So did you buy it?
  11. Cheers guys, you've all helped a heap.
  12. Cheers guys, thanks for the help.
  13. No, nothing at all.... Unless a Cop pulls me over for a Vehicle inspection which is unlikely, 'cause it's a stock '78 Rolla.
  14. If I can ever finish the projects I have going at the moment I'm going to go hunting for a 36 or 38 wagon. Wagons and utes/trucks rock! They make it so much easier for carrying things (and sleeping in the back of when your too drunk to drive home  ).
  15. Haynes bought out Gregory's so they are effectively the same manual. I think mine was different 'cause it was the last version ('78) and it was only very minor differences.
  16. This is what I was worried about. If I remember correctly, the Aust compliance plate has chassis number, engine number, build date, GMV and a few other important ones. This plate was riveted on and the rivets rusted off while driving. The indesructability of the 3K means I don't look under the bonnet often so I can't say it fell off in any particular area.
  17. I have a bit of a delema and I'm not too sure how bad a thing this is (concerning rego and defects and stuff)? The other day I noticed that I now only have the Toyota build plate and no longer have the second Australian Compliance plate in the engine bay. Is it possible to get Toyota to make another one for me? What will the Transport Department say if I have to get it inspected? Less plates in the engine bay is a good thing (looks neater) in my book (especially when I start getting mod plates) but I don't want it to be something that will cause trouble for me in the future.
  18. Just court up. The new wags looks sweet.
  19. I have a KE35 and have 6 (I think) different wiring diagrams in my Haynes Corolla 1200 manual, and my KE35 doesn't seam to match any of those diagrams, so I say there is more then 7. The diagrams are also for ?? to '78 and cover 3(??) variants of the 3K engine.
  20. I had a similar problem. It started with my KE35 taking a lot longer to start and then progressed to it not winding over at all (couldn't even here the solenoid clicking over) but I had dash lights and the stereo could still play at full noise/lights shine as bright as always. I've put it down to melted wires. The control wire for the solenoid and another wire that comes off the battery (I haven't looked it up yet) had heat damage. Heat damage can be as subtle as the wires just going soft, so it's not always easy to spot.
  21. There are clamps available to hold the coils in the spring compressed. I think that they are illegal though. Personnally I wouldn't op for cutting or clamping as both are dangerous and for the sake of mentioning it, illegal. And as for that link, god Ihope he was just kidding around, 'cause that just takes stupidity to a whole new level.
  22. Sounds like the local council isn't doing their part. If it's a major road to a school, no matter how remote, it should be bitumened. I would take a guess the road hadn't been graded in a long time, or they had just laid new gravel and used fairly large gravel. I hope seepage on the spleen (correct spelling according to Firefox) isn't to serious and she makes a quick recovery.
  23. I'll probably cop some shit over this but I feel nothing for most cyclists that get hit (there are those hits that aren't accidents that shouldn't happen). Most cyclists think they own the road and do nothing more then try to insight accidents. For one they should have to pay some kind of registration so they are accountable for their actions, 2, they should be obeying the road rules and 3 they should follow the same driving ethics that everyone else should be applying. I guess 3 should be discounted though, 'cause motorists don't have any ethics anymore either. :no2: :y: It made me so sad to see a perfectly good Rolla getting tortured like that. :harhar: :drinks:
