Cheers in my first post i said i had a KE55 so yeah the motor is a 4k.

hey, cheers for posting, i overhauled the engine.... and every thing else so the connections are fine.... so yeah the amps (as far as i know) will be drawing more power than the alternator will be putting back in. This is from factory specs! they are rated at 50ish amps. sooooooo :P

Well evan now with only one amp.... at night the charge ligth comes on.... only dim but when a second amp goes in i'm expecting it to get brighter. Cheers anyway

I read somwhere on this site that a KE corolla's electrical wiring is only good to 72amps? Does your alternator kepp up with demand?

Hello everyone! Kind of new to this. have read threads but nothing seems to be able to help me. I have a 1980 KE55. currently installing sound system. I already have a themo fan and keyles entry, cd player 4 speakers and 1amp putting in 2subs and another amp soon. I wish to know if it is going to be necessary to upgrade the alternator?? Also does anyone know what alternators would fit?? Or does anyone know the cost of getting one rebuilt to 70 amps?? Any help would be great! Cheers, Luc
