Hmm started pulling my motor apart today... pulled all of the front end apart and then proceeded to take the head off. when i took the rocker off i found that all the problem seems to be is that a push rod had jumped off its rocker has this happened to anyone before?

Yeah check my project thread.. blew 2nd cylinder.. need to get new bottom end.

why do you need a 5 speed shifter?? i used my 4 speed one! just grinded slots into the bolt holes and it works beautifully!

I'm up for it but only if my car is back on the road by then... probably won't be but heres hoping!

Nah i the second cylinder rings are gone!. so it still runs but its lumpy as hell.. i need some rings.... but my the block is tired... so i may as well get another one. and i need it on the road asap! Actually i'm thinkin of just building a tough 4k... maybe turbo... slappin it in then finishing the interior. then perhaps sell it and i'm leaning towards buying a soarer. but that is a year or so down the track!

Ok Update people.... The corolla is dead.... blew out cylinder number2.... now looking for a decent block..... if anyone has one in adelaide that they can part with.. then please PM me!

What i've found is this... pioneer.... big bass but not overly clear... clear enough but not special... Kenwood.... real mid rangy sort of sound... alpine mid to high range... bass is ok! Clarion.. crystal clear sound... bass is ok Pioneer generally more expensive than most brands Kenwood seems to be the cheapest Alpine.. expensive... Clarion... in between pioneer and Kenwood.. Depending on the sort of music you listen to should be what influences your choice. I run all clarion... now with your gangster sorta music its awesome beats my mate alpine system but when you go to heavy metal you have to turn the bass up... the bass response isn't that good on higher frequencies. Kenwood i believe is pretty good for heavier music... Pioneer is a sorta all rounder alpine hmmmm not too sure Clarion.... good for punchy sorta music.. Hope this helps... but bear in mind this is my opinion..... talk to autobahn they know their shit.!

I recommend using Protec high build etch prime... add about 15% thinners to it and you can build up a really thick layer of primer. making it easier to get the bodyworl smooth. but as said before it depends on acrylic or enamel paint.. most common car paints are acrylic.

I had a bit of trouble with my gasket kit for my 4k.. the only differences in gasket kits is the sump gasket. some blocks have less sump bolts than others.

Yep i still have about a litre of paint left over.. that'll easily cover it!

Hey i ran up the back of a lancer! got distracted by another corolla that nearly ran into me. this was my AE92 had already hit a roo in it...

This same sorta thing happened to me... i found that it was one of the hoses had come off of the carby.. check all the lines going to the carby! there are one or two that are really important..

Ok i'm looking for arelatively easy solution to my seats being f'd i've seen some different seats being used.. whats is involved in modding rails? and what seats have people used? I'm looking at doing a u pull it job for seats!

Maybe yr accelerator cable is frayed?? that would cause it! Also it could be your needle and seat in yr carby? might not be closing up properly

I get 450-500 outta a tank in my 4k. got exhaust and 5 speed but it has two 12inch woofers and a truck battery in the boot weighin it down.

I think the question should be which LED?? T5 T7 or T10?? or T6 even?

Yess do it!!! use large blocks to get yr panel work as straight as ya can!! i was going to do mine that colour when i had one.. but this happened to it also i might suggest to put an overtone to it?? to do this put a smidge of another colour in the clear coat.. so when the sun hits it it lights up a slighty different colour and at night it'll be just black!! you could use colour like red... green... gold.... etc. would look really good!!

heey i wouldn't worry about tryin to keep up! I'm in my rolla stock 4k lowered. i can beat VN commos through the hills but only cos i know em. to me its more about learnin yr limits. people like robert in his rx7 will unfortunately be forever waitin for us corollas!
