It's already got that coating on it from factory.. all i did was freshen it up with lots an lots of spray can engine enamal lots and lots of coats. just a quick fix! to make it look nicer!
-
Thought of that but you need a spare! i've shredded a few tyres and thanked my lucky star i had a spare! If only the boot was like the old escorts. where the tyre fitted along the side... and the fuel tank was on the oppo side to that! i do want to cut the well out! and then use a wagon strapping system! this way i can have my sik subwoofer custom installed anywhere i want!
-
Looove that dash console! look awesome!! good thing your in another state.. i have the first KE70 bit seriously thinkin of getting the rest... if you don't mind?
-
Yeah i'm hoping to hide the tank in the boot behind a custom covering. kinda like the stock one but larger and a bit more forwards. also regarding the dash it will be prepped properly... i work at a painting solutions company and i getting some tech primer. hmmm i wish the tank was underneath... would free up some boot room! thanks for the feedback guys!

Ok been doing a lot of thinking about things to do! Ok custom roof lining with LED downlights! New carpet! You all know how the dash has that rough texture? well i'm going to give it a thick coat of high build primer.. then sand it silky smooth!! going to trim the dash black and gold! assemble then a nice thick clear coat! the dash will be very shiny and smoooooth! hope to have this little project done by next week.. yay for long wkend!! Now cooling issues. I've decided i like the idea of the davie craig automatic electric water pump! expensive but it will make the overall problem easier to deal with.... much easier. gonna do the intank lift pump coversion. then with a surge tank hop to find somewhere to hide it! The two 12's are going... being replaced with 1 single 1000w rms 12" sub. Thats all for now! hope to have some piccy for next week!
-
Oh no won't be needing that... LED downlights! Something similar to this.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...A:IT&ih=013

Had a thought... perhaps if you have a strut brace mounted to the car you could then mount the lifters to the strut brace?
-
car is 1980 so i think its bar'd its vinyl? Oh sorry falken for highjacking your thread.
-
just did a search. i was led to believe that you needed a hard lining to mount things to your roof. but an easy DIY way is to remove your original lining and screw lengths of wood to the roog bracings and from there mount whatever you want! much easier! custom downlight install here we come!!
-
I've seen it done in a mustang it is a full custom job! i reckon it wouldn't be too hard to make the correct shape. and also to hold it up. but the hard bit would be flush mounting it into the front and rear windscreens
-
Nah i mean a solid lining eg mdf or something similar. seen it done before but not how exactly. so you can mount things to the roof. Commodores etc. have a solid lining! I'm highly considering wiring in some down lights intead of have that single interior light!
-
My ke55 has both mounting holes? does that mean it was an import? also what size are your rear front leaf bushes 35mm or 50mm. apparently corollas with 50mm ones are import and 35 mm were aussie built.
-
Has anyone enquired about getting a solid roof lining made up?
-
Alrighty please keep me posted on how your doing it and how it turns out. pics would be good! does the sealer have to be foam? i was thinking maybe a rubber of sorts? as the foam does break down.
-
Ok any holden commodore colour is good and easy to get. Falcon colours are the same 380 colours and most toyota colours should be easy to get! there are a lot to choose from
-
ok i will be pulling my heater motor and all of the air vent out to clean and reseal. wondering what i can rplace that foamy crap with? also has anyone rufurbished a heater motor? anything involved in it?
-
Quick question.. how the heck do remote boosters work?
-
Ok i got that price on the xr5 orange! its called electric orange. you need a special basecoat and then the colour! so oem paint! exactly what they use on the cars. $540 for the basecoat - 4 litres and $580 for the colour- 4litres expensive because they are import cars. better off picking a coulour off an australian delivered car. holden paint is easy to get and pretty cheap also falcoon colours mitsti etc.

update! out with the old! in with the new! new shockers. yes i'm using gabriel ultras. and undercar painted black! Crappy photos but you get the idea.. camera phone aren't the best without decent exposure!
-
yeah i have to drill through them. the only porblem is that there isn't any room for the lifter to close down properly.
-
Yeah woould be good. i looked at commodores and the way they do it good but there isn't enough room on a rolla to do it!
-
Hey i was lookin at my engine bay and bonnet and i have some gas lifters. am toying with the idea of riggin em up. but i can't see any easy way of doing it! has anyone one toyed with this idea? i'm thinkin the only way to do it is to bolt them to the strut towers. could be dodgy.
-
Update! ok today i spent the day on the car! Front end bushings and base suspension is in! very stiff now! Superpro bushes all round! Finished my other strut... finally! stripped the interior! diff and exhaust are out. painting the underside of the car tomorrow!

Ok the red coolant is great on a new engine... but... as an engine gets older and shit starts to leak.. e.g. exhaust gasses and head gasket leakage. the red coolant reacts with this and turns acidic causing corrosion. i stood in a radiator place and read up on the differences because i was gonna use it.. but with old 4k's it'd probably shorten their life.
