  2. bit off topic but radrollaz have you seen the Zoom mag playing cards? pretty sure its your rolla pictured on one of em!
  3. i'm heading there on the wkend will post if there are any after!
  4. I am!!!!
  5. sure the starter might be stuffed. but even with the starter stuffed it should still start when push starting. turn the car over manually and test if you have any spark coming outta the dizzy. if you got spark check fuel etc. also check the wire that goes to the dizzy if it has come off it aint gona start.
  6. i wouldn't say so. there is a bit of labour involved. so it would be $80 for the lightening itself!
  7. Ok not much been happeinin over the last couple of weeks. i got two overrated condition doors. Stripped one completely bare polished the windows and will be throwing some tint on em. went back to bare metal on the door and primed and guidecoated it. its a bit ripply but that easy fixed. also got some engine plastics painted. got a pajero MC. got a vl intank pump. painted my honeycomb grill. the honey comb section is silver the rest is black with a green flake in the clear coat. very sparkly. will post pics when the sun shines better!!
  8. Need more pics!
  9. how good does it go? can you keep up with most cars on the road? how did the handling change? diff? sorry about the questions just curious cos i got the same engine going in my 55.
  10. now i assume that an ae86 has a t series diff? and also the celica ra60 has a t series? so then this should fit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...52BSI%26otn%3D4
  11. Cobba i reckon your car is sick! what bodykit did you fit up? i want a kit for mine. i have a front splitter already but yours looks better. more photos!
  12. It just looks a whole lot neater. you wouldn't have to weld the other holes up just block em off. apart from that i've seen cooling guides etc. and they all seem a bit complicated. this seams the easier way! i haven't decieded yet if i wanna buy the kit or do it this way. if there isn't an problems with mounting the motor further forward then why don't we all do that?
  13. go with the 55. has a more oldskool look than the 70. in my opinion a 70 needs a lot of work to look nice. but on the other hand the 70 has a better rear suspension setup. depends what you want oldskool? or in between. the 55 was the last rounded sorta car and the 70's are all really boxy.
  14. looks good i'm doing same conversion atm in to my 55. have you driven it? engineered? just wondering if there would be any problems with mounting the engine so far forward? i'll be doing this... http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=1012 to solve my cooling issue. and then a signal splitter to take care if the dizzy. thus mounting the motor close to the firewall. to make it look like this... picture taken from club4ag
  15. MX62 cressida struts is another upgrade yo can consider. i got these!
  16. oh and you always have a handbrake! ;)
  17. If you've ever seen a caliper in bits they are extremely simple! an inner seal and a boot! thats it!as long as where the inner seal is perfectly clean you'll be fine! i had a brake specialist show me how to do it! he did one.. i did the other. you use brake fluid and rubber grease mixed together to get the piston to slide in easier. i haven't used the brakes but the specialist watched me do my other one and he said it would be fine! save a bit of money and also have the experience to know you can do it!
  18. this is what i was informed by a toyota mechanic...? if its incorrect than that fine. but being from a toyota mechanic i would hope its true.
  19. Try it yourself.. it's quite easy to do. if the bore is bad and needs machining get it done by someone but cleaning and building them is quite easy to do!
  20. i rang them two weeks ago now and they had ra40 but that was it. i'm gonna go to my local diff shop and ask how much. also its only about 80bucks from u pull it for the diff and they wanted $180 for the ra40. also it'd cost me something stupid in petrol just to get there! lol. oh well. That $500 quote sounds good! but we'll see what it'll cost me locally!
  21. Ok did some reading and the RA60 celica diff is T series? so LSD is available? where from? how much?
  22. thats funny cos i raced a mate in a commo when i was stock 4k with two people and my subs etc. and he couldn't keep up with me! interesting to see how i could go with a sc 20v! :D
  23. I think they are very similar. i looked into getting the rt series corona diff. but the ra60 is off of a newer car with a bigger motor. even with the rona diff you still need to get the leaf springs mounts moved.
  24. grr annoying. yeah i've been through the hills countless time and NEVER have i seen a cop. but i go on friday nights. I want my 20v rolla on the road sooo baad missin out on rolla cruises is killing me! lol
  25. Well at u-pull it today i measured drum to drum a corolla one and compared it to an ra60 and the ra60 is approx 30mm wider. so i reckon i'll be going with that diff 15mm each side isn't that bad and they came with 2.4l? so it should have decent brakes. something else i didn't look into but i should measure out an r31 skylind diff. with that you get disc brafe rear and on the silhouette you get lsd.
