well that quote is just to make everything fit. i'll be wiring the ecu and getting it running.. yes its going in my green beastie. as for diff when it breaks i'm gonna use a t18 diff and weld on leaf spring brackets. but if i treat the diff well it should last a while. eg no stand stills!

well toyowreck quoted me 1100 including computer and wiring loom. so i'm probably gonna pick that up this week. then mec tec at seaford quoted around 500 for them to put it in for me inc shortening tailshaft and custom engine and gearbox mounts. not sure if i'll need gear box crossmember made up but yeah! city dismantlers don have any silver tops atm

Ok i am getting a silver top and city dismantlers say they have a rear wheel drive box to suit! so iwas wondering what it was called and if it would actually suit cos they seem like dicks... their price for a silver top was 1890 where i got quoted 1100 from another joint but they don't have any gearboxes. so iwas gonna get the motor from joint1 and gearbox from city dismanlers. Well for a KE55 corolla tailshaft what spline do i need? cos i'm just gettin mine shortened!

another update! got these goodies today! honeycomb grill. and some new seats... beat mine but need some seat covers! looking at getting some TRD covers!

Hey all. Just another update. painting the engine bay during the week.. ss black with shanghai red in the clear! finished cleaning now to sand! Gearbox and extractors being taken out this week... and also my entire front suspension is coming apart for painting and new performance bushings! and i'm powder coating and maybe seam welding the crossmember for added strength!

Ok.. long time. Car now dead. Time for 7k i believe. SC. Had a thought though! 7k runs a high compression ratio. with supercharge i'd only be bale to run about 2-3 psi reliably! Soooo i was thinking..(it hurts) What about oing a straight gas conversion? this lowers the compression but still gives you same power! then i can SC and run a heap of boost reliably! Please thoughts?

I believe that is the best option for me atm. Supercharge setup doesn't cost as much as turbo and it seema a bit easier! Just now for a list of stuff i'll need for the efi conversion. any one help here?

Could always build it a bit better? Chrome rings put through could help it handle revs better?

Ok all up i've been quoted 1800 bucks for block work and head work! for a turbo 4k then i gotta get manifold etc. I think for 1600 i'm better off going 7k efi then perhaps turbocharging that! more power straight away for same money!

Not sure what turbo.. but my mate has a turbo from an RB20 i'm thinking of using! or i could go with a turbo from a laser that another mate has!

Yeah a mate and i did it. The blocks of these cars are quite light! and i don't have access to a crane! Ok brake booster off today... only thing left now is to take off the steering rack! Yes everyone i am painting the bay hence why everything is getting stripped! I'm painting the engine bay Phantom Black. then trimming the motor in red and lots of polish! should look good! also hiding the wiring and installing bonnet washers instead of the crappy stock window washers! Gas bonnet lifters and a pressure switch light for night time! And maybe a green neon behind my grill! Anyway here is another pic of the car atm!

And todays work! I got quoted today from API.. to set my new block up for turbo setup its gonna cost 800 bucks. that with dishes pistons some fancy bushes for the conrods balancing of everything and machining of everything.

Ok update! Yesterday's work! pistons not that great!
