  1. Grrrr i knew it would happen!  :y: du pont didn't send the paint and on top of that my painter has now gone on holidays! i do have another painter lined up but now i'm waiting on my paint! but the longer in primer the worse off the paint will be!
  2. Cool cheers!
  3. quick update! finished the final prep tonight at 10 30! tomorrow is the day! provided my paint arrives! du pont is being slack! either way it'll be getting a white basecoat at least! here's some pics of it finished! sorry about the darkness!
  4. Yeah they are meant for a hilux! but i did the best i could and there doesn't seem to be any sideways movement and i don't really hammer around corners anyway! Also these blocks aren't meant to have the u bolts going through them. there is no way that those u bolts could be even made to go through! i did try that! all they would do is stop the block twisting if they were sitting sideways! but the bottom plate on the diff and the leaf bushes run lengthways so to me (i could be wrong) it seems more stable that way. there is more area of the block in contact with the surroundings. if someone has gone to the trouble of getting the proper blocks i would like to see a photo... just to see the difference! ummmm no the bump stops are just bump stops they don't have any other function! even that low it still has another 2inches or so before it hits the bumps!
  5. Bloody goooood job! both of my guards i had to rebuild out of fibreglass and my boolt lip above my tail light and it was freakin hard! 8/ :jamie: :y: love it like new! I feel your pain! lol
  6. Well all i saw was two more k30/55 sedans your car and the two KE20's. i guess i was lookin forward to seeing the old school ones out and about
  7. Yes that yellow KE20 was really nice! how was that rotor? soooo loud! yeah i wasn't going to go but when i got back home (moana/seaford) i saw all those cars and thought.... hang it who cares if my car looks like shit! i really like that ford cobra! first one i've seen! Murderess 55 spewin about that dent! a fair bit of work gettin that straight! sooooooo when the next one? 8/
  8. They might but these didn't. They were actually for another car! hence why the u bolts are on an angle in the photo. but now the bolts are settling in. What seems to hold the block in place is a lug that goes into a plate on the bottom of your diff and also the lug from your leaf spring bush sits inside the block! Just when you first get them you have to keep checking that they are tight until they wear in. mine kept going loose for a while giving the car a swaying effect at speed but it's been about two weeks now and i'm not having any troubles whatsoever!
  9. Cheers mate! your car was sort of inspiration! I like what u did but i don't have that sort of money so i'm doin my best!
  10. Ended up coming for some of it! was hoping to see more rollas! oh well Got lost a few times as i wasn't there to get a map! lots of nice nice cars!

  14. Yeah i figured... but what can ya do. if it doesn't get painted next wkend then i'll be driving a primer car for another month as my painter will be going on holiday! And cops just loooooove my car!!1 :P
  15. yr window tinting was it DIY or pro? If Pro who and how much... I reckon corolla's are magnets for other cars lol :P
  16. Sorry people.... would love to be out there with u guys meetin fellow rolla owners but my car will be either getting painted or the final sand being done... either way i'm on a deadline! So i'll have to catch ya'll at the next one
  17. Well i'm pretty fed up with the sound of the exhaust... too loud for me and a real attention grabber. You know.... race car sound.... slow moving car. :P so yeah plan to take back to exhaust joint and get them to either put another muffler in or a resonator. whichever they suggest
  18. Yeah they fitted ther extractors so maybe they did f somethin up. I really don't know enough about carbies but would love to learn. so how do you check and change the float level?
  19. Hmm i was thinking the same thing... fuel or carby needs a tune up but i wasn't sure because i didn't have any problem before i got the exhaust done. it has one muffler but no resonator... If it is fuel problems what could be the cause and/or problem? thanks to all the wrote. Cheers, Luc
  20. Yes i already know that you need back pressure. I went to profix and asked them to do it. they asked me the car model size of motor etc. and they said 2 inch so i went with what the 'professionals' suggested
  21. Hey all. I just got a new exhaust put through my car... extractors to two inch straight through... way too loud and the only power difference is that it can pull up hills a bit easier. a small problemo... used to be able to floor it out of a corner and most likely get sideways.... now the motor kind of dies... no power.... so does the exhaust really take away that much bottom end power? or could it be something to do with my carby? which is stock. only seems to happen when turning right
  22. This set up worked for me..... handles sooo much better. 3inch blocks then the helper springs. the rear is hard as hell and i don't seem to get much 'Tramp'. Also if i get defected the blocks are pretty easy to take out and you can leave the helpers there as they aren't illegal and are akin to adding extra leaves and/or resetting and waaay cheaper Also the harder you do up the helpers the stiffer the ride so essentially you have adjustable suspension. and if you loosen them the car drops another inch or so!
  23. Quick update... These red goodies arrived today! cheers to phatKE30 for the heads up!
  24. Cheers can sorta make it out... i get the idea... seems not too difficult. Great car man only hope mine turns out half as good!
  25. Would you happen to have a photo of your sump mods?
