Slipping clutch generally would mean yr getting oil on your pressure plate which does indicate rear main. the seal and oil carrier gasket itself is next to nothing. but the time involved is ridiculous. i'm no major mechanic but it took my a day to do. i got quoted $300 for mine to get done so i did it myself. so yr up for new seal and gasket and new clutch/pressure plate. make sure you can get yr car high enough.
  2. Yeah they are 1ggtte's. hmmm twin turbo on a 7k? would need solid lifters?? that plus a supercharger?? plus cam grind... lookin at what power?? somethin stupid!!?? Motor wouldn't last! about 200 or so Hp or more??
  3. Ok a mate has just offered me two 1GGTE twin turbs for 1700. one has blown rings and the other has a stuffed head gasket! Should i go with this easier conversion? or with the 1GGTE? how much would there be involved in the 1GGTE conversion?

  8. Soooo by using that info your injectors total can handle around 250hp? which is around about what?? in KW?
  9. wow. doesn't look too hard... a bit easier than turbo i think. expensive though! injectors wouldn't be cheap could find second hand SC and IC. then silicone hoses and stuff would be pricey?

  11. Hey all. ummm been discussing what to do to my 7K when it comes.... and the general consensus is that supercharging will be better? now i've read that 7K's don't like revving? is this because of hydrolic lifters? thoghts anyone? turbo or SC?
  12. Hey all. just finished my trip from adelaide to whyalla. 4 speed manual. Car made rattle noise at 3000 before the trip! but i sat on 3500 rpm =100k's for thw whole trip. when i rolled into whyalla i noticed that the rattle had all but disappeared! i decided to push the car and the rattle only starts now at around 4000rpm and for a stock k motor thats pushing it! i have no idea but maybe the K motors really need a good long run every once and a while? i thought this is weird

  14. hey. one afternoon i noticed my dash lights didn't work.... it was raining so i started turning the dimmer dial.... turned it all the way off and smoke started pouring out of my dash! took dash out...... the electrical stuff behind is burnt but indicator lights and stuff all still work! i tried taking the dimmer out and just connectig the two wires to complete the circuit and the same thing happened! i don really know enough about the wiring behind there to make an imformed decision on what to do i was thinking of just putting my own lights in there and wiring them up to the ignition so when the car is on they are on? any ideas? KE55 corolla cheers

Apparently ppg is trying to kiss our salesmens butt to get them some extra work sooooo we are trying to stoog a trial tin of paint out of them! which means free! so maybe atomic is still gonna happen will keep ya'll posted. Hehe drivin the beast to whyalla on thurs... hope she does the trip!
  16. didn't have to drill holes just kinda flattend the pins a little and they slid straight into these little holes that were already there! not a bad do for 70bucks! Bottom hose was a bit tricky different size hoses. but was easy enough took only and hour
  17. ahahes she is really mangled but you have the bumper to cover some and i have one of those splitters coming and that covers the rest of it up! Thanks for the comments
  18. Heeey everyone i'll be watching this closely because you guys are describing the exact noise that i'm getting in my 4K! i was thinking valve springs? weak? aka valve bouncing?

  20. Hey, good lookin car better off than mine was for sure! i work at a painting factory. i would suggest getting your self a variety of sanding blocks from large to small. Start off with 320grit sandpaper. wet rub. the large block will show up most of your dents and ripples.. then prime the whole car lay it on nice and thick. use a high biuld primer. then lay on a guide coat usually black. then re block the whole car with 600 grit sandpaper fill in any last dents and ripples.(if you missed any) then lightly rub the car back by hand with a 1200 grit sponge and lots of water. the primer after this should look glossy. then paint!   21. buying through where i work and we go directly to dupont. tried the holden dealer thing and they buy in 44 gallon drums and won't give me a small amount! thought of using protec colour match but that is no good!
  22. well it has to be fuel float! because i installed a electric fuel pump and it made no difference! so i guess i'll have to rebuild my carby and see if that fixes the problemo
  23. Even more bad news! Du pont rang my work today and informed us that they hadn't even made the paint! also a tint thay use has run out and has to be ordered from over seas. so if i want this paint i'll be waitin for over a month. soooo i've chosen to go a different colour i'll be going phantom black! and then shanghai red in the clear coat! a cherry black look!

  25. will do car will be getting a heron white basecoat first! i love seeing those VE commos get around cos i love the colour! paint is reeeeaaalllly expensive! my trade price was $209 for 4 litres! a shop i went to said they buy it for $345 for 4 litres so yeah! imagine what every day joe will be paying!... crazy
