Hey LittleRedSpirit, with the wheels, I was planning to flare the guards a little and stretch some tyres over them to fit. I wanted my rears to look like this car... ... I'm not too sure on what tyres he's running though, but the wheels are 8" wide and -4 offset all round. The front's are a bit much for me though. Maybe I should trial fit some wheels with different offsets and widths to see what suits me. As for the shocks, yeah, they're pretty stiff, but I'm after the more go kart feel. I'm trying to get into a bit of drifting. Was planning on an S13 at first, but thought the ke70 would be the better option (cheaper). Just need to wait for my front springs and we'll see how it feels with the 'whole package' done. Adjacent, pretty much what LittleRedSpirit said. I wanted a rear wheel drive car to learn oversteering/drifting in. The no power steering isn't too bad now. With the AE86 struts in, I've felt that the steering has gone a little lighter. I also find the *e7* series look more tough than the newer models. :)

Hahaha, no need to worry about that. I'm not gonna have more than 2 passengers in my car cause the car's not gonna move if I had a full car load! :) I seriously need to get a new engine/gearbox soon. Every gear except 4th is noisy. Wait till that blows then get a whole new(er) engine and gearbox as an excuse.

I honestly haven't noticed any rubbing so far. The front springs seem a bit soft at the moment and that would cause the front wheels to rub when going over speed bumps too quick, but that's it. I try not to go over speed bumps quicker than 5kmh. haha
-
The offset is all in the wheels. How much extra/less track the suspension components give is a different story.
-
haha yeah, it sits pretty low, but the rear sierra shocks don't really allow it to go much higher. The fronts should be a little higher once the 8kg springs are in. Mods that are on the list are, some 15x8 wheels with offsets of 0 and ~-12, then 4AGE. :)

Here are some pictures with the front suspension installed. They're just standard ADM AE86 struts, brakes, shocks and compressed king springs. Soon, they'll have some KYB SW20 shocks in them with 8kg springs.
-
Okay, I finally got the pictures on my computer. These were taken after the rears were only done. I've already got the front ae86 struts in, but haven't had the chance to get the photo's up yet. The front seems to look higher than stock with just the rears done, but it looks alright now with the front done as well. Rear suspension are, KYB sierra short stroke shocks with cut AU falcon springs. Springs were 200mm in length free height. Front suspension are standard in the photo's, but they're now standard ADM AE86 struts, brakes, hubs, blah blah, with king springs which were compressed 100mm. They sit low...

Thanks for that mate. I've done a bit of researching and supercheap auto apparently sell some tool to get the steering arms off the lower control arm. Costs about $14 so I might just go and check them out.
-
Thanks for the comments guys! I still can't get these photo's up for some reason. I got frustrated trying to get the front struts out this morning and the car's just in pieces at the moment. I'm going to wait till my front shock inserts arrive and decide what springs I'm going to buy. While I'm on the subject of front suspension, how do I get the steering arms off the lower control arm? It seems to be stuck?
-
Well mostly in myself, but I'm also not confident that my car will make the distance. haha. We'll see, there's still a week and a bit for me to change my mind.
-
Update! I installed my KYB Sierra short stroke shocks in the rear of my car with cut AU falcon springs and the car looks like it's squatting down. haha. I'll try to get some pics up when I send them over to my computer. I just need to wait till my steering arms arrive then I should have my fronts done as well.
-
Ah, too bad I just purchased a tacho without a shift light. 8/
-
Well I ended up getting my P's this arvo! I've picked up my rear shocks and rear springs. Just need the damn steering arms to arrive before I can fit my front ae86 struts. Not sure if I'll be able to make the GOR cruise though, not confident enough. 8/

I'll be there mate. I posted on ae86dc.com.au. Cheers

Putting a 5k would be a good idea, but I want to change my gearbox. It sounds like a bus at the moment. Every gear except 4th is damn noisy. If I were to do an engine conversion, I think I'm going to go down the 4age track. 4 times the power of the 4k sounds good. :drgrim: I just hope the police don't pull me over and think the engine looks a bit too new for the car. :lolcry: *** goes off to read about putting a 4age into a ke70 ***

About the lack of power and I'll get sick of it in roughly 2 weeks thing, I had a decent drive with my car for the first time today (about a 2 hour drive) and I think I'm hating the power already. I was just driving through the city and when I needed power, the car/engine didn't give it to me. :drgrim: I should really think about an engine conversion. Yeah, the car would be a good starting base. Better than jumping into a 200rwkw+ rwd car and wrapping it around a pole. I'm just really disappointed with the amount of power its got.
-
Cheers for that mate. I'll check that out. :drgrim:

hahaha you're making me regret buying this car man! Making it sound so shit (probably is though). LOL. Oh well, I didn't buy this car because it's fast. About the list thing, yeah, I do that sometimes for things. Just to see how much I would need, but it never turns out right. Always costs more. =[ Cheers

The 4k is that bad is it? haha. Looks like I have to plan on a 4age engine swap and place it higher in my 'to do' list.
-
It sure is. :lolcry: I was planning on joining the skylinesaustralia-victoria car club for cruises, track days, etc, but I'm scared that I'm gonna fall behind. haha. The 4age is on the list of modifications, but it's near the bottom of my list at the moment. Just need to wait till I'm sick of the 1.3ltr (soon) and have some money.
-
So true though. haha. Here's a whole section about the R35. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ni...ussion-f80.html

Clean looking ride mate. LOL @ "wanna sell it??"
-
Hi everyone, I think it's time to show you all my ride before it gets any major work done to it. First off, I'm Adam, recently turned 18 and going for my P's on the 15th of Jan 08. I'm from Melbourne and have always been into the Jap import scene. Big fan of the skylines, silvias and supras. While being on L's, I've been driving an R32 GTS-4 sedan and was planning on driving it on my P's as well, but the 'no turbo, v8' laws came in and it was time for me to get a new ride. The KE70 happened to be it. I honestly didn't really plan on getting the rolla at first, but found that it would've been the best option for me. I had my eyes on an S13 silvia first. Okay, enough of me and more about my car... I bought the car on my birthday last year (27th Dec 07) for $500. It's an 1983 model, 5 speed and pretty much dead stock when I bought it. So far I've only just cleaned it up a little and installed some guard mirrors for more vision when driving. I regret buying them because they were from supercheap and they always get adjusted when I open my bonnet. I just got a bit excited when I saw them on the shelves. haha. I've already purchased some ADM AE86 struts, brakes, hubs, etc and they'll be on the car in a couple of weeks. Just waiting on my steering arms to arrive. Rear shocks should be on their way soon. Only just deposited the money. They'll also be installed in a few weeks time. What I've got planned for the future are some new front shocks and springs and a decent set of wheels. No engine modifications as yet. I don't want to get fined $1100 and lose 3 demerit points. Yeah, they're pretty much what I've got and have planned so far for this car. We'll see what happens when I get my wheels on. Here are some pictures of what my car looks like at the moment. Here are the only signs of rust. Here's what the guard mirrors look like installed. Tell me what you all think! Cheers guys. I could see you all at the GOR cruise, you never know. I just put some money down on new suspension, so I might want to go out there and check out the car's performance. Not sure though, we'll see how confident I feel. LOL @ hanging out the window to adjust my mirrors. Thanks! It's a pain in the ass to adjust. haha. Yeah, I've got plans for it. Just suspension for the moment though. I'll be affected by the 'no engine modifications' law so can't really touch the engine just yet. Don't want to risk a $1100 fine and a loss of 3 demerit points. I'll let you all know how my test goes. I could fail and have to wait another few months and miss the cruise altogether. Cheers

Thanks for the welcome mate. I hope to go on a cruise one day and meet you all. Cheers
