31st of October, Halloween cruise. time same also??? I think location is good, so meeting at Curtin uni, then out to zigzags, second leg takes us up to hillarys...

Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it. How about we put it off a week and make it a Halloween cruise?

I'm going to be doing a 5SFE with a 3SGE head into RWD at some point, and will be getting lots of the parts fabbed up as necessary, so when the time comes, i'll make sure to post a bucket load of info in a tech build thread... Also got a mate thinking about doing a 1MZ into an AE86, so I'll hassle him out for as much info as possible.

Highly likely that it will be a Saturday with a BBQ and drinks put on... Rough estimate puts it at the end of November for the official opening, but of course we will be trading before that. Was thinking of having a stop-in and look around on the up-coming cruise, but we'll see how it looks then. We'll be aiming to be set up for full engine rebuilds and performance builds, including match-porting, porting and polishing, carb tuning, extractor and inlet fabrication, suspension tuning and will be setting up some good contacts for better prices on paint and panel work too... Could also end up doing cam grinds and definitely will be doing supercharging and turbocharging setups, and will happily do stereo installs and any other annoying bits of work like regular servicing and the like. hehe Oh, and Aircon gassing too!!! keep that in mind as summer is firmly on our doorstep.

Workshop is in Osbourne Park area, so location wise, it's looking good. I'll reveal the address (and official opening) at a later date once I've finished setting everything up all pretty.

Might have to come check out the tune... And have a shot at matching the two... Were they supposed to have a tune on them when you got them? Exhausts and cooler piping will be quickly added to our services, and depending what you want, we'll endeavor to source whatever part you might want.

The big pain with these is manhours. FWD suck balls, and take longer to do. That said, it'd depend which engine... is it a 3S, 5S or 1MZ that's in it? I think we had either the 3S or 5S from memory, and also depends how badly blown it is, and how much needs to be skimmed to bring the head true. If it is a 1MZ i can understand why they are qoting that much, as the V6 is a mofo to do, with twice the work and even less room in the engine bay. I could definately drop a substantial number of hundreds off that price, likely even halve it...

Well, it's time to make this official. Workshop is approved and going ahead. Finalisation is next week, and then hopefully spending about two weeks setting everything up, then we'll be cooking with gas! Supercharger kit for T and K engines is a goer, as are turbo kits, but bearing in mind it's a garage, not a manufacturing facility, so it'd be custom built to suit your application if you want them done. Oh, Josh, how'd everything work out with the linkages??? I wanna get taken for a spin!!! So Perth people, remember, there is now a workshop who'll happily do good deals on performance corolla work, ranging from engine builds and conversions to suspension setups and even those little fiddly jobs like stereo installs and fixing that pesky indicator wiring problem. I'll let everyone know when the official opening is soon as it's decided.

Hmmm. low mount turbo manifolds are definately on the cards... low and high mount i should say... Actually, i am supposed to find out tomorrow if I have the go-ahead from the bank... So tomorrow we'll be announcing lots more details...

This is solid advice here... for a N/A 3T, it'd have to be what I'd consider the best setup. One thing to keep in mind though... If you can find them, use a late model 2TG head, but put the early model 2TG cams in it... They have a much more agressive grind than the later ones (pre-emissions control vs post emissions). That setup with a set of high compression pistons and you'll be really cooking. But it all depends on how much you want to spend, and what you want to get out of the car.

I think Kiahn is referring to my suggestion of doing the original run from Curtin to ZigZags, then continuing on through the city, out to scarbs then up to hillarys along the coast road??? How about Kiahn, you do up the map out to zigzags, and I'll do the second leg up to Hillarys...

I do have soldering iron somewhere... i'll dig it out.

I guess you might want to stop it doing that... lol. could be a timing issue there, so I'll bring my timing light and stuff too. About to try and tune the weber chris hooked me up with, so we'll see if I am good at it or not. lol.

I would actually do something like this... probably more detailed though. A coat of clear might solve the fading/washing problem too...
