  1. BUMP!!! Why's it feel like I am trying to sell this to people? For all those guys complaining we don't have enough going on here in Perth, and threatening to divert everything to Facebook, where are you? Want to have a damn cruise or not??? The scene is only as good as the people in it...
  2. Hmmmm... chris as a 77 year old transgender female... now there's a provocative thought... ewww... Anyways, back on topic! Who else in Perth is coming???
  3. Well??? C'mon people... or should i just put it on facebook???
  4. I should have a few running, so might be able to lend? I'm going to try to have my KE55 (Misty) happening by then, so the maroon T18 (Allie) will be without a driver. I'm going to insist Jo brings her white T18 too for all to drool over. C'mon people... let's make this happen...
  5. Nah, not the maroon boonga... This one is a pristine white with blue interior... mmmm. yummy. Anyways, i suppose we shouldn't hijack this thread with idle chatter about crap i buy... oh, but i gotta mention the Maserati blow thru weber I just bought!!! Turbo 5K here we come!
  6. Hey all... There's been a bit of a discussion about cruising and the like here in Perth... And I agree... we need another one... Another LOTS.... I propose a cruise be held on Sunday the 19th of July, leaving from Morley Galleria (underground car park) at 1300 I got a nice little route planned out... Should take a bit of time, with a few stop offs along the way. Please, post up your intentions, and we'll see how it turns out on the day... Also, any rolla owners you know, suggest they might be interested to attend...
  7. Often the best isn't easiest. T50 box is great provided you're doing a 4a or 2t/3t engine swap. If you are looking at an engine upgrade in the future, It is "better" and "easier" to leave gear box swaps until you do the engine. No sense spending on a box twice over. That said, if you are keeping it stock, or minor k engine mods, a k50 box as previously suggested would be the way to go.
  8. So that means if I buy your 20V that you'll come on the next cruise??? lol Speaking of which... I can't. bought another T18 instead... only 105 thou on the clock!
  9. Lynch them!!! people like that should not be allowed near toyotas.
  10. Here here... what is the point of having a rollaclub if rolla owners aren't going join, instead of jumping to different (and not specialised) forums? Sure, they might have facebook accounts... But rollaclub is here. If they want to call themselves rollaclub, then they are going to run into problems... because they AREN'T rollaclub... Why don't they call themselves Rollaboyz or something??? or... better option... they join up with the group that is already in existance, and bring some expertise and passion to what is already established. So, i sincerely hope that we'll be getting a sudden influx of members in the next few weeks, and all sorts of rollaclub cruises will suddenly have high attendance, and lots of good times... I hope the corolla owners of Perth will come to the Rollaclub family.
  11. Ummm... there doesn't really seem to be much in the way of rollaclub in perth generally... I don't think shifting it to Facebook will "gather together the throngs" so to speak. There is enough trouble gathering people together here, in a forum dedicated to corollas, so I am not sure how facebooking will help. At least when it comes to people who are actually 'Into' corollas... that said, knock yourself out and facebook, twitter and bebo yourself to your hearts content??? I think we do gotta ask administrator permission to use "Rollaclub" in any other public forum though... might want to check that first. Oh, and how about posting details of cruises here? I could rant more, but I am tired...
  12. +2 for black cap with red T... (the wife thinks so too...)
  13. I put a big trolley jack under the engine crossmember of a TA63 celica... Unbolted everything, including the full front suspension then used the engine crane to lift the body high enough to roll the whole lot out... front wheels and all.
  14. Crank up the boost!!! make good use of the extra fuel by supplying it with more air for a nice increase in power! mwahahaha. Ok, serious suggestions now... Check your air flow meter for a start. Then there's something in the deepest realms of my memory telling me there's something to do with three pressure switches that affects fueling too... Anyone else can add more intelligible things???
  15. Yeah, the weight is based off the sedan for the sedans and wagons and two door sedans... coupes are their own kettle of fish for some strange reason... sucks so bad
  16. I see a bit of a trend ammerging... And hey... who am I to suggest otherwise??? +1 for strippers.
  17. Spitting chips actually that mine is the coupe... If it was a two door sedan, I'd have been able to go with a 2.5L due to the extra few kgs, and I'd have gone straight for a 1JZ, but alas... Actually, the 2RZ-FE would be well within limits by about 40cc. lol I did think about V6, but, well... i gotta admit... I have a major aversion to what is pretty much two 3 cylendar engines tacked together. (yes, i know... it's my V6ism coming out...) plus if I do go V6, and it's something other than a Buick... hmmm... well, as I said, i want it to be something that really really stands out from the crowd. Here's a question then... would it be sweeter to have a NA BEAMS with individual throttle bodies and extractors and stuff, or a BEAMS Turbo engine...?
  18. Not pipe dreams... Fairy tits?... maybe... Basically, I'm currently building up a 3TGTE with a TDO6 to go into one of my TE72's with RA60 aftermarket coilovers, adjustable camber tops, Sigma lower control arms, Hilux diff, monster intercooler, external wastegate, electronic ignition with individual coil-packs (while keeping the twin spark... yes, it'll look SICK!), a load of body mods, custom inlet plenum, 3 inch turbo back exhaust (with a 6 inch cannon) rolling on 15 inch rims with some nice 205's on the front and 225's on the rear. I'll enjoy that for a while and then sell it off to fund the engine purchase for the TC gemini coupe. I've already got another 3TGTE sitting there that I could rebuild too, but i figured it'd be so much prettier to drop a BEAMS into it... or wilder to drop a turbo diesel in... Basically the aim is to be street legal, and rather different... something that'll blow people's hair back when they pop the hood, and blow it off completely when they find out it's home garage built... (or when i take them for a quick lap around the block...) Again, Street Legalities are a MUST... And I don't have patience for long engineering processes... I know what the maximum limits are for engine capacity without paying hand over fist for engineers to sign off, so I'd like to stay within those limits. I've already got VN Commodore disks on all four corners, Falcon break booster (which bolts straight on... how considerate.) and upgraded piping, so the brakes side is sorted. Diff might end up being swapped over depending on the power, but really, provided my choice of engine doesn't deviate from the basic limitations, it's all well and good in the world, and any engineer who is worth my mulah will have no issues signing off on the selected engine. A 5L V12??? now that would present some problems... Oh, and the C4 idea? I actually quite like the thought... I might have to buy a commodore...
  19. I really love the idea of a sequential shift in a car... darn motorbikes get all the good stuff. The big problem with a bike engine, regardless of the power figures, is the lack of torque. The only reason a bike engine makes so much power is it's ability to rev. The rotary idea is a beauty too, but unless I stick with NA of the 13B or less variety, legalities get in the way again. Oh, I saw a 20B powered cosmo about a week ago, and OMG did it sound choice! At the moment I think I'll stick with the BEAMS engine, but will still be doing a little research into the 2LTE turbo diesel... :bash:
  20. Yeah, I'm leaning towards a worked BEAMS, though the cost/power is a bit off putting. I think in the end though it'd make for quite a valuable and desirable vehicle. (I got offered 5 thou when it had the G180 in it...) I'm thinking it should be quite fun to drive too with around 200+ horsepower. I do like the idea of quad throttle bodies on a Beams... MMM!!!
  21. whoa nelly!!! That's a rather decent amount of torque!!! like a V8 only not... wouldn't that mean I'd be better off with a taller diff ratio? something to compensate for the low revs...? hmmm...
  22. OOOH!!! Turbo diesel!!! I like! talk about torque... think the stock diff would handle 3-400nm of torque at 2700rpm? I wonder what capacity I could get away with as far as diesel is concerned... Either way, didn't they have a 2.4L diesel in one of the hiluxes? EDIT: 2LTE sounds good... 2.4L turbo diesel, making 97hp and 240nm of torque!!! Intercooler and MORE BOOST!!! mwahahaha!
  23. How the heck was your mate getting 300hp out of a 186? boosted right? I love the thought of boosting an old holden actually. I thought about doing one of those crappy starfire engines that came in the last of the toranas, and just trying to force like 45psi into it until it popped. In all honesty, I'd probably go for a CA before I turned to an SR, not so much to be difficult, but more to be different. I do prefer to do things a little unexpected and unusual. Maybe even like a 22R or something? sometimes i think there are just too many options... lol
  24. Oops... kinda sold the G180 already... Oh well. I heard they had a big problem with oiling the cams or something??? anyways, I prefer a bit of toyota twin cam performance over an old isuzu anyways.
