  1. BAHAHAHAHA!!! ...Yeah, corollas are just sex on wheels... I honestly can't think of any time I won't own a car built on an *E** chassis. And people here understand that. Likemindedness... that's why i come here.
  2. 13 sec 2JZGTTE Aristo FTW!!! That, or 5SFE block 3SGTE head in a Camry wagon... woot!
  3. I used to ride my best mates CBR250... that was a sweet thing. Down side was I didn't have a bike license... Anyways, logic kicked in after seeing a guy get taken out by a car right in front of the bus i was on... It's something else watching a 650 kawasaki implant itself into the engine bay of a car while the rider skids about another 100 metres down the road before wrapping himself around two trees... (I'm not sure how, but he managed to tear through the first tree and finally stopped on the second.) I like lots of metal all around me to keep me safe from all the idiot drivers on the road, and i like the fact that a car won't fall over if i don't hold it up. That said, bikes are damn sexy. haha
  4. I got a set of these on my TC gemini coupe... sweet rims for filling out the guards without making it too pimped. Tough as and good tire selection for them too... 205/50 ftw!
  5. Here's a pic of the turbo manifold i welded up for my KE55 corolla... Had a spare smart car turbo laying around and figured i'd fit it to a 5K... car is still in the build, so I don't know how she goes yet. lol Thing of it was that I didn't measure any of it up... just kinda cut up bits and randomly welded them together. then welded over the welds to make sure they were sealed. scrap metal - $26 GT12 turbo - Free Maserati blow thru webber - $430 destroying a 5K in spectacular fashion - Priceless
  6. Show car aye??? I'd suggest get the interior and exterior styling sorted while you're on your P plates, as any serious work in the power department will obviously have to be put off. Some suggestions... Deleted door handles Billet grille Front lip spoiler (can go side skirts and rear pods too, depending on the style you're after) Fat ass rims Custom paint work Remember, set down a definate plan, and stick with it... A successful show car needs to have all the mods meld together. just as it'd be silly to have Green paint with a purple interior, having a sick hipo turbo engine with granny body styling would not fit well. It's always good to have your car reflect your personality too...
  7. That is very true... Emissions are a bitch, but provided you can meet them, it's all good. Oh, My soarer is a GZ10... same age as my engine. Both are 1984. And the AE86 isn't too far off. Again, meeting the regulations for emissions is necessary for any engine swap. If you are going full aftermarket ECU it should be doable.
  8. I say, nice route. Continue left on Ridge Hill road, Left again at Kalamunda road Right at roundabout onto Canning Road Right into Canning road (where it turns into pickering) Right on Brookton Highway Left onto Croyden Road. . .
  9. Hey there! Rock and roll the 3TGTE!!! Personally, I'd be looking for 87mm pistons with a compression ratio of 7:1 or 7.5:1 The extra meat in the block is just for peace of mind... And handling some good boost. Good choice of turbo there, easy to come by, relatively cheap and good match to the size of the engine. I'm personally going for a TCO5-G18 off a VR4 Galant. More because it came up at the right price, and I want the boost to come in nice and low. Cam wise, I've been checking out a few different options... Rumour has it 2TG cams can be used... If this is true, grab a set of the earliest 2TG cams you can find... pre-emmissions stuff. They have quite an agressive profile, and looking at the power drop over the 2TG models over the years, i'd suggest it may be good for about 25-30hp depending on your boost. Other than that, I'm trying to chase up the profile of the TRD cams and TODA cams used in racing back in the 70s. With injectors, you can get 440cc injectors out of the 7MGTE which run the same low impedance as the 3TGTE. I'm not sure about the RX7 ones, but either way, 7M ones would likely be cheaper due to the demand of the RX7 ones. One way to up the boost on the stock computer is to put a 5MGE AFM in. It plugs straight in, and tricks the computer into thinking there is bucketloads more air, thus upping the fuel. From what I've heard, it's good for about 200 odd hp. There's a couple of guys on here that have 3TGTEs and toymods.net has a thread dedicated to 3TGTE performance... As for cars to put it into... hehe... pretty much anything sub 1000kg would make for a VERY fun car. For ease of install, T18's rule, followed a close second by the AE71. I suppose on that note an AE86 wouldn't be too difficult either. I guess what it comes down to is what you'll be using it for. One that I've thought about is putting it into a GZ10 soarer... engine will bolt straight up to the G series bellhousing, so only engine mounts needed, plus puts the weight a bit more in the centre. It'd be more than powerful enough to use as a street/drift car, and realy mess with people when you pop the hood... Either way, I'll be watching to see what you end up doing with this choice engine.
  10. Fuel only as already said. Can trick it to give you more fuel to run higher boost safely... just slap a 5MGE AFM on it... mwahahaha. Aftermarket all the way dude... I'm setting up a Microtech MT4 with CAS and individual coils on mine.
  11. NO!!! just get a 4AGE/GZE/GTE do the RWD engine conversion bits like cooling system, inlet etc. Stick engine mounts from either an AE86 or AE71 and it all bolts straight in...
  12. Curtin underground visitor parking??? Just a thought. I'm putting in the turbo 5K this afternoon!!! hopefully won't blow it up before cruise time. mwahahahaha!
  13. Dudes, If someone will drive my car, I'll buy a carton. lol
  14. Coming to perth any time soon? Currently own 4 T18s and have stacks of parts for them... Other option if you wanna have some more fun and rev harder is a 2TG will bolt straight in too... gotta love the twin cam engines. Also, if you swap the gearbox too... can slot in a RWD 4AGE so long as you use the T50 for it, as they have different output splines on what is otherwise the same box.
  15. Yowie, I got a KE20 you can buy... don't worry about a :P FWD. We need some more old school class on the streets.
  16. Look harder... there is a rollaclub on facebook... was started by a few "edit:guys" in perth. Unless you mean like an official facebook group??? like, one that has been endorsed my admin?
  17. I say saturday night... works best for me...
  18. SWEET!!! can't wait to see yours in action... Well, if it's October the 24th, then you can drive me... haha
  19. Huntingdale aye??? I'm just up the road in Thornlie... My cars won't be on the road until mid-november, as Mr Plod as seen fit to revoke my right to drive, but they will be getting worked on a whole bunch in that time, so come November, there'll be a number of new, hot rollas ready to hit the tarmac. Should come over for a coffee or something and chat about stuff. And maybe Chris can bring some Initial D along? hehe.
  20. Welcome sgtyowie... I like ya spirit... If i get all my corollas and T18s running I could just have my own little cruise, and still get a better attendance than a regular Rollaclub one. sad sad state of affairs... Especially as i see heaps of sexy looking rollas *ahem* "rollin" around. Hey Yowie, where you from???
  21. Best and easiest way to go about it is to grab an AE71 engine crossmember. It uses the same steering as the KE70 and shares the crossmember mounts to make the 3T a straight bolt in with the T18 engine mounts. You won't want to try and use the T18 steering... trust me on this one... there is a LOT of difference between the two. I am half way through putting KE70 steering into my T18, and it's a headache. Even worse doing it the other way around... Definately a good little torque upgrade though. While you've got the engine out, slap a 2T twin cam head onto it, and you're on a winner.
  22. Oh!!! I got an idea... how about we crash someone else's cruise??? that's surely a sure fire way to guarantee a decent amount of people... It'd be about the only way we could ensure double figures for the number of cars.
  23. Initial D night at Chris place!!! WOOT!
  24. He doesn't need to... I'm just bummed the deal in which i was supposed to be getting a S14 fell through... still, left me money with which to buy more toyotas! hehe
