F##K NO! I like a chellange but i have my limit. Here's how it was... and here's how it is so far ... All steel, NO BOG!!!!....
-
When i said side rails I ment the roof side rails, so its only minor, no major structral/handling damage. As for road worthy, the car was never officially deemed as a write off, statatory or reparable. Its also completley legal to replace any panel that has been damaged. For a living i cut brand new cars in half, and extend them by 3 meters. We build them to better ratio tolerance than they do factory... So pulling the pillers back to spec and removing the tention was considerabley easy. The car is 100% straight... I wouldn't be painting yet otherwise.
-
Yeah i guess it will have black stripes once i put the factory black trims back on.
-
Ok so it took a few days, given the interuptions and such, BUT i finally got some primmer on the machine. While I give it a week or so to settle, I'll start on the doors.

YES!!!! Another TE72. Those 3T's are ready for war MAD!!!!!... just ask the Puerto Ricans! :)
-
I'm thinking brilliant orange but i may have to poll it. What do you reckon? ;)
-
POR15ed and dust coated. Tomorrow i shell rub the rest of the body down and prim the lot. ;)
-
Whats your plan to get more grip?
-
Between painting my house and building a rabbit palace, i managed to Metal Ready the TE72's known problem areas. Roof, gutters, boot lip, tail lights, wind lips..etc... It sure looks nasty hey, but thats how its ment to look. The Metal Ready not only nuturalizes any rust it also treats the panel with zinc phosphate... Zinc panels are highly resistant to rust. My Datsun 1000 wagon, which was factory zinc treated, has no rust and its a 40 year old car. NEXT: will be the P.O.R 15 rust preventative paint. ;)
-
Now that i'm on holidays, I finally got to do more work on the roof. Also removed some panels, rear bumper, tow bar, tail lights...etc.. to prep known problem areas for rut prevention. Its just about ready for the P.O.R 15, which will no doubt take a few days due to Christmas caos.

The engine number will start with a D (or DF for Centura engines but Centura didn't come out with 265's), then "3" for 265, the next 3 didgits are performance level, gear box type, and year. The engine number is found just under the dizzy. This number will give an idea of whether its a factory "S" block. NOTE: all blocks are marked with an "S", this means nothing. BW's are all right but you WANT the 904 torque flight... nearly indestructable. :lmao:
-
904 TF on a 265, is it moded or is it a factory S block? What spec is the engine (D3***) It must be hard to tune with the SU's half way under the dash. Man its looking crazy good. IF you;re not already a member and you need advice/info on all things MoPar, check out Moparmarket.com :lmao:

I thought the hatch was the only thing that didn't rust on the T18's :)
-
A MoPar powered Rolla... too crazy. I can't imaging it will corner well. Is it running the BW35 trans? Makes me want to get my OEM High Performance 265 (4 speed manual) out of my dodge and shoe horn it into my spare T18 for some fun
-
Good to see another T-one-eight! Awesome cars these. Fingers crossed you don't bend it.
-
Hey Chops. Yeah bought a house, got a realy big shed  For now just focusing on getting the brown T18 road rollin. The yellow can wait. Whats the deal with yo Rolla???
-
The T18 now has a new home.... Now there is space to move and although the shed still needs organising, work has re-comensed on the Mr T. Thanks to gearb0x i now have a new roof. The old roof was just too stretched and the front roof support rail was comprimised. De-stitched both roofs, discarded the bent one, rust treated new bits, aligned the new bits, welded new bits on... just gotta bronze fill the joins. Soon it will be in primer. Thanks to Julzy the Rolla pimp i also now have a 2nd T-bird Not sure exactly how i'm gonna work this though getting 2 T-one-eights cooking is looking like a plan to be had. Sadly neither car has front seat belts to my liking, so offers of help are welcome. :jamie:

Lets cut the irrelevant talk.... I have had at 16 years informal experince with automitive elec experience...payed experince, a little shy of a decade...No short cuts or que jumping. I don't require the cert to continue to be paid as an auto elec, I simpley want a cert for self gratification. My situation is quite unusual so my requirments for getting the cert differ from the norm. I am not fresh out of school or new to the work force. I have already done the ground work to determine the appropriate actions I require to get the cert. Done and done. all i ask is if anyone can recommend some good books on the subject (preferably Aus standards) so I can touch up on my knowledge in case there are particular/preffered procedures that i am not aware of. SIMPLE :y: :hmm: :y:  :n:

Cheers for your help Medicine_man, I appreciate it greatly. To my understanding I can't do a Tafe course unless I am an apprentice. That option is not possible. HOWEVER, if a person has succsessfully engaged in a particular trade for a particular length of time, and can proove suficient knowledge in said feild, they can become certified. Although i have not quite yet met that time factor, because my feild has no specific certification, my bosses and I are trying to get around this. If i can proove suficient knowledge in the multiple trades i work in, i may be able to get certs in 1, if not all, of them. I'm going for auto elec.
-
The issue is I am full time and am unable to do a an apprenticeship so I can't do the accociated Tafe course. My RPL is hindered by the "pro" i'm learning from also doesn't hold the required cert (long story), however I may be able to get around this through proving adequite knowledge on the subject. Anyways, without an excessive explaination, the right books with the right knowledge is what i'm after right now. Cheers :y:
-
Are there any text books or reference books that is required for apprentices or recommendable. I am aiming at getting my qualifications through an RPL but because my feild is so broad yet so specific any additional knowledge/reference would be definatley helpfull. :y:

Park where there's no traffic  For sure, eye catching cars catch peoples eyes.. hence the title  Be mindfull, if its a harry high pants stoke looking rolla with crisp paint and no P's, cops will leave it alone no matter how nice the paint :hmm:
