You have to remember that the 1025 rwhp it showed on the dyno was through a near 7k convertor a powerglide and big side wall tyres, with a manual i'd expect it to show another 100-150rwhp. Really the engine is only a baby in comparison to most big name 2jzs, its only 3litre, standard comp, stock inlet valves, 1mm oversize exhaust valves, moderate porting but leaving the port cross section stock. The cams are only 272s with 9.3mm lift etc. It'd be making damn near 1300hp at the engine. Alot of people BS about the amount of boost they run to achieve similar power figures, 50-60psi is not uncommon on some drag 2jz although i have heard most report 30-40psi. At the end of the day i am trying to push 1220kg to 180mph in a 1/4 mile. At 45psi the engine makes enough power to achieve this, just need to get the car to haha

cheers for the comments :dance: I finally broke it last weekend, although it was only a head gasket :y:, i knew it was coming, i had just put 3.5 gears in it in an attempt to keep the fronts down, unfortunately the extra load made it worse, i had 3 big pedals and i guess the ol girl didn't like 44psi + 150 gas turning on and off haha. No stress though, got a new exhaust mani coming and swtich to ARP L19 head studs and genuine toyota gasket as a solution. I also have some wheelie bars in the works. Here is a pic from first round of qualifying 16th jan. Apparently about 400ft out from the start so it must of been the 3rd and last time i tried to get back on the throttle but just headed for the sky again. Shortly after headgasket cried enough

to make 1025 at the wheels through a powerglide and 6200rpm convertor you'll be needing over 1300 engine hp, which is well and truely over my goal of 1hp:1kg. can't get wheelie bars under the car as the radiator is back there, it would help but not in the spirit of the car. beerhead i am with you, have be pondering various ways of getting the thing off the line. Still have no idea.

Its a common misconception with regards to the weight of this car, try 1215kg with me in it, wet, race ready. Far far from factory weight. I will be attempting run it on this power on the 2nd of january, not quite sure what will happen but it ran 168mph with 300 less rwhp :)

lol, not bad through a 6k convertor and glide :), was bloody stoked, mind you it took 44psi and 120 odd shot of gas to get there :P

Put a bit more boost and gas into this thing tonight, here is the resulting dyno graph. Pretty freaking stoked!

ah yeah, just having some issues with my web server, currently got it out behind the shed laying my boot into it. At this stage its still not talking, onto the water torture :P

Its a modified ex SubZero, made by Mr Turbo, its only made from light thin wall tube, had about 20 odd cracks in it when i patched it on friday.

i'm all for electronic control, the issue with the current twin 44mm tial gate setup my lowest boost setting is 22psi, at that boost level i am at 550rwhp, still way to much to let go at full noise. I have however found that my exhaust mani is cracked badly, i patched it but it wont last much longer, new exhaust mani will be of different design, may aswell build in a lower minimum boost with better flow to the gates and lighter springs.

No i am just leaving on the transbrake at what i think the track can hold, problem is the thing will stall to 40psi and 7000rpm on the transbrake if i let it, anything below 4000 rpm and 6psi it will sometimes bog, anything over 5 it blows the tyres off it, once it has say 10 psi on the transbrake it jumps to 30+ in a split second, makes it hard to get consistent. I played around with a 2 step limiter at 5k turning the gas off 200rpm shy but i had a huge n20 backfire in the garage at home and it dropped a few cylinders there for a bit. don't think i will be trying that again. Just needs a good track and that perfect launch to improve.

PB still stuck at 8.50, its going to need a real good track to go quicker on the radials so been sneaking up on the top end to compensate. It safe to say it has 175 in it, needs just over 180mph to go 300km/hr in 400 meters which would also be an awesome goal. lol, will need another 150hp to get that.

Tried a bit more boost in this the other night, track wasn't all that flash but now consistently over 168mph :wink:

Fullboost by 4500rpm????? I 'think' i seen a red ke10 on the track at powercruise, did this make it?
