  1. I'm hoping to vacuum bag my carbon fibre light pod this weekend Chris. Last chance to come and help. I'm just using my compressor for the vacuum pump (but can pull 25 Inch Hg of vacuum). You guys still got that AC vacuum pump? I did a bagging test last night and it still had perfect vacuum this morning so it's a green light for Saturday. I can get you some sheets of glass too if you want to use them to make some flat panels. I too am looking to making some door cards and trim panels for the rear of my shopping trolley at some stage. If you buy some kevlar, let me know as I'm after 2m2 for my fuel tank guard.
  2. Way harsh Christopher! Know anyone that can offer Joyce a ride for Gallangowan? Gerard asked Pete to navvie for him but she's already doing it with Craig but I suspect Gerard might be a little too fast for Joyce for her first blind event. And for anyone else that just read the above and has gone wtf, no I'm not talking about a swinger's club! (Chris wishes I was though).
  3. Glad your finally seeing it my way. I need lights for Gallangowan and I'm sick of copping crap for my ghetto setup atm. Joyce said Marius had some problems getting his out of the mould and has to do it again.
  4. Well drag your ass around my place and help me build my light pod then
  5. Chris, looks like Hirstglen will be cancelled this weekend due to the weather. Should be made official today.
  6. Entry forms are filled out, see you at Hirstglen Chris. Time to do some suspension tuning and driver training. Probably going to put some road tyres on the front, buggered if I'm going to wear out another set of rally tyres out there just by having some fun.
  7. Yep, and that 1.3 litre 63kw pizza delivery car is still faster than the drop kick behind the wheel. More power just makes up for inadequate talent, and that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :D
  8. So you're not going to come and help me put the supercharger on the Prado then (cause 180kw aint enough for me)? First driving an excel, then a Toe-rag, and now not modifying cars....You've gone soft old boy! :D
  9. Come help Chris out this Saturday at Esk :D Chris, can I give you a jerry of fuel to take up to Hampton for me? I hopefully won't need it but would rather have something there just in case. We only used about 40 litres of fuel to do the whole Rally Q ;) With regards to the fuel tank, are you guys doing the same lift pump type set up that Craig has in his celica? Oh, and be prepared for me to pick your brains (like you tell the sheep, just hold still and it won't hurt) about extractor design for the pizza delivery car if we can convince you to hang around a bit on Saturday night. Rob.
  10. One of the alternatives has been in Qld for a long time. QR and Lakeside run under them. So far, 3 rallysprints have been run under them with another rally sprint and a proper rally to run under them this year alone (and maybe a motorkhana or two as well). :) To the OP, if you have the funds and the ability to build your own, then do it. But buying a prebuilt one will be cheaper though. The down side is you are also buying whatever stuff ups/ short cuts/ last minute fixes that the previous owner has made :) . I'd avoid Geminis or 1600's cause good panels are getting nigh impossible to get. If you want rwd, then might I suggest an NA Silvia, then turbo it once you have gotten everything out of the car that you possible can. As far as ffwd's go, there is a Proton for sale on the Brindabella forums which is priced very competitively against the excels, or be different and build something original like an Echo if you want to stay faithful to Toyota. :)
  11. That catch can is a bit RICE'IER than the old one. Definitely looks heavy! :blinks:
  12. Most definately. Are you going to stick your ugly mug in at any events this year?
  13. I'm glad to see you guys going the 4AGE route. Screw CAMS. Realistically, how much extra power do you reckon it's going to give you over the K motor Chris? That combined with Tony's skill is sure going to make one hell of a competitive car (just have to keep the tyres up to it ;) ). Pete and I can't wait to see it back out in the forests.
  14. Shame you couldn't make it Teddy. It was a great day, the paddock held up the best it ever has, didn't chop up at all. You up for the skid pan khana in November? Cheers, Rob.
