  1. If I get a lap in the passenger seat, I'd be happy to help Steve. Where are you up to with your car? ps. Have you got any Big Day Out tickets for sale again (for Melbourne)? :P
  2. Diff is very noise free-less. It sounds like it's running on bush bearings and the LH brake line is buggered. If it's of any use to you, the axles have good bearings as far as I know. Forgot about the exhaust actually! Bit too late to ask for anything now. Take it off and it's yours, Bart! :) Depending on whether my friend (engine buyer) wants to help out, that'd be mad if you could come round this saturday or sunday. Send me a txt if you can and I'll let my mate know there's a spare set of hands to help us make it quicker and easier.
  3. Rego is all sorted, Bart! Thanks for helping me out with the headlights so quickly. I've already sold the engine to one of my friends for his KE30. I'll be keeping the gearbox, but everything else is up for grabs if anyone needs anything. Free parts!
  4. The best way to do it without stuffing around and being unsure of things is to get a car trailer. You can sometimes get one-way trailer hire, which would be very handy, but it might cost more than just driving there and back with one. Just did a U-Haul quote online. They say you need to hire it for 4 days min if you do a one way from sydney to adelaide, and it cost $700 (wtf?). A 2 day hire from Adelaide cost $150. Some local companies may be cheaper also. You'll be needing: - A whole weekend to do it - Money for car trailer hire, food, hotel hire (or stay at friend or relatives if you can) and not to mention a fair amount of petrol. - 1 or 2 mates for company - Decent towing vehicle.
  5. Spotted your 86, Sloth! I think it was around the back of Kambah. I was in my Blue KE70. It's not very noticeable lol. The Red Car will be no more!!! Understeered into the side of the mountain on Brindabella road late at night, while trying to be a hoon. Apart from the bent suspension, I thought the car looked fine, but the front right chassis rail had taken some irrepairable damage. I'll be steering away from working on my Corolla's with K-engines in them. Instead I'm just going to drive the stocko blue KE70 to and from work until I get enough money to buy a newer car. As for the KE30, I'm waiting on my burnt-armed flat-mate to finish healing and fix his hilux in the shed, so I can start stripping it and get it ready for the 20V!
  6. Grouse! That's a wicked looking car champ. Such basic modifications too!
  7. Oh how thoughtful of Toyota to make the only big difference in interchangeable parts between the 2-door and the sedan the doors.. Which are the same as the panel van doors anyway!
  8. I have a rotary-like idle with a 35/75 cam with unknown lift. It wouldn't be more than .400 as I only run a single downdraught. When the engine dies (it's a K-engine, so good luck) I'll get it out and get someone to measure it up for me.
  9. If you're ever working in the engine bay of your KE70, you'll be working on the opposite side of the engine as the air-conditioning unit. If it doesn't work it will definitely be worth the money or time to restore it to ice-cold working condition. If I had one, I'd know!
  10. The difference in trumpets is the length and width of them. Research what the differences is between wide/skinny and long/short and how it affects the engine and you should be able to make your decision based on that. A good source of information to learn about the 4A-GE engine is Bill Sherwood's 4AGE page. Google it and you/ll come up with a GOLD MINE of 4A-GE information. All the best with your build.
  11. Panel shop would charge a fair lump for this sort of work wouldn't they? It does look good when done right.
  12. If it doesn't do anything, it's aftermarket and you have no idea what it is, it was probably something that the previous owner had installed and removed. People often leave wiring in cars if they want to take their stuff out when they sell it. My mate found about 30 useless cables in his 00' Hilux, to give you an idea of how extensive it can be.
  13. 13x5.5" +10 Cheviot/Performance/Roh Hotwires with genuine Cheviot "crinkle cut" centre caps (a must have to look good)
  14. Do you think the Beaurepairs wheels are of no good quality? They look stunning! Oldschool outer and classy inner. I'm a fan haha.
  15. Brindabella road turn-off from Cotter is awesome. Lots of tight, sweeping corners for us Corolla owners. I recommend driving up and down it a couple times first. Not a good idea to throw yourself into it and end up off the side of the mountain. When you get to the T intersection turn left for even more of it. It eventually turns into dirt, but it makes for a good half hour of driving. edit: And a LOT less traffic than Cotter road.
  16. Surely you didn't mean that. ;)
  17. Didn't think a hot rod theme would look so good on a KE10! Mind blowing ;) Must see videos of this running. Such an awesome blower haha.
  18. Ask a tuner what ECU's they like working with.
  19. Going to QLD for 2 weeks everyone! Take it easy
  20. ahahah YES. :laff: AE86 springs, as far as I know, are the only ones that WILL FIT without being cut. Otherwise you'll have to get yourself a new set of springs; buy the ones for $50 as that's dirt cheap, take the springs out of the struts, or even put in the whole strut assembly. What else can you expect? Nothing will fall into your lap buddy. That's the answer to the question! Do you need anything else?
  21. I spotted a yellow KE70 this morning on the way to work. The driver seemed to either like giving it a really hard time or it had an engine in it. Did it have wheels? I saw 14x6.5/7 chrome lip, black centre.
