well progress has slowed down on the old girl for now.. waiting on subs and the class d amp to show up at my door.. than ill have to wait till i get some more cash saved up so i can buy some fibre glass resin and attempt to make some enclosures, at this point in time I'm parting out the ae71 i crashed to fund this project.. so if anyone is lookin for some ae71 parts just give me a buzz on 0458648087, i still have a lot of parts left.. drove the car to dubbo and back on the weekend (about 1000k's) and she held up pretty well except i found out that it uses ALOT of oil.. the light come on bout 100 kays from home and i had to walk to a farm house to ask if they had some oil i could buy.. put about a litre of diesel oil in it to get her home, so ive gotta drop the oil before she goes anywhere else.

my one was the one that was written off .. And it had a worked 4ac not a fk.. But this is pretty fkn awesome .. Was this cmerln ? EDIT: 4k* not fk lol.

started off working on the boot this arvo .. also went a bit mad last night and bought some decent 4 ohm dual voice coil subs at 400wrms each.. and bidding on a sound stream tarantula.. hopefully i win cause i haven't done a decent stereo set up yet and that amp would be a great start running 2000wrms at one ohm stable.. until i get the amp i can't do to much more to the boot as i want to make a dummy fuel tank cover and mount the amp embedded into it. also lookin at some fatmat or dynamat, beofre i start the fibre glassing of the sub boxes... when funds prevail of course .. unfortunately i had to cut the floor in half to get it in the boot lol .. but it still looks pretty neat i suppose. i put some sandwiches under it to help it sit even. all trimmed up.

i have a pair of steering arms off my ae86 struts and just wanted to know how long are the power steering version compared to the normal version ? these are around 205mm overall length and have R2 and L1 stamped on them (but I'm guessing that's just the left/right sides)

hey bud go onto youtube and type in 'fibreglass speaker box' .. and if you look around enough you will catch the drift of how to do it .. I'm in the process of doing the same as you .. also if you type in 'fibreglass forums' into google you should be able to learn a lot

so, finished making the last door card and trimmed it, and finished off the parcel shelf this arvo and fitted some 6x9's, they're only running off the head unit at the moment but actually sound really really good considering they aren't anything special like components or anything like that, later on when i find some amp cable, I'm going to run all four speakers off a 4 channel amp.. and a mono block amp for the boot after i get around to fibre glassing some sub boxes for it.. the parcel shelf was a dead set c%^*t to get right but after test fitting it 20 times it didn't come up to bad

its hard to explain but th dash board & th pillar trims are a different colour to th door cards.. Th dash was done in vynil die from 3m, i think it is called 'buck skin' & its a really light bone colour, while th vynil door cards are more a brown/beige colour.. I got th material from spotlight for 12 bucks a metre :P we are thinkin bout dying th door cards the same colour as th dash later on, but unless its done really well, then there is a good chance it will peel off soft material.

so me & the boyfriend gave Rosie her first tub since we bought her.. & these are my attempts at a night shot hahah

yea, bit of a bummer about the dint.. nice fuel stain too :P .. it has another one in the drivers side rear quarter that i havent got to yet. the dash & trims look white, but theyre actually more of a bone colour. also i buggered up a bit, i bought it with a dash in it lol .. just pulled it all out and vinyl dyed it, also did all the pillar trims and the sills etc..

thought i might put up some pics of my new ke55 and some of the work ive been doing on it .. its a stocker at the moment except lowered and a rough paint job .. future plans are ca18det and some new paint .. this is how i bought it... a few previous owners ago some fella cut the dash up for a dvd screen or something, wasnt really happy about that but oh well.. might get a new dash later, or a dvd screen lol i just finished doing the door card but haven't got a decent photo, its nothing special, i did want to do a pattern or maybe some flames under the vinyl but i don't have that much patience at the moment.. also put a cd player in with speakers in the doors, have to do my parcel shelf tomorrow with some 6x9's in it now all i need is a decent steering wheel.. so far the car owes me 60 bucks.

ah k thanks for the info, i imagine the ke55's have different sway bars to ke70/ae71 ?

thanks for the help i didn't realise e7 shocks would fit but i will be sure to check out the ajps site, i never said i was drifting with people in the back seat(i can't stand people driving silly with other people in the car), i just meant when i first got it i went for a cruise and everybody that hopped in the back said it was like sitting in a trampoline lol. my plans are to move to qld by the end of the year so when i finally get there i will have to go see a suspension place about custom springs, by then hopefully i will have an r31 diff modded and fitted. i seen that lloyd smith video, but is there anyway to stop the body throwing around that vicious? i understand that there is a few different sorts of diffs for ke55/30's? mine doesnt have a sway bar or sway bar mounts?

are there any cheap stiffer shocks that anyone suggests to get? ie: like suzuki sierra into a ke70?

oh shit and i forgot to mention I'm a 2nd year boil maker and a fully qualified panel beater.
