  1. awesome thread mate and well worth the read, i'll be taking this conversion on... one day lol.
  2. awesome work dude !! I'm in love with it already and its not even finished haha.. and for gods sake please tell him the specs on the convo pros lol :P
  3. stuffing around with some left over vinyl die.. i didnt even bother sanding it because i didnt think i'd even have enough to cover one box, might sand them up later on and paint them both like this.
  4. few pics of the wiring (:
  5. fibre glass is soooo slow, but actually not that bad to work with, what do you's think of my first attempt at making sub enclosure's ? still waiting on the car to see if they will actually fit back into the boot lol.
  6. ^^^^ you forgot the option of paying $4000 "buy it now" lmfao
  7. got to fibre glassing this arvo while the car is in the shop... didnt do much but due to the shit f*****g weather and i wanted to watch my state get an arse raping in the origin again :glare: sorta stuffed up and forgot to staple the fleece down to the ring in one spot, you can see where i have attempted at fixing it after i applied the resin and noticed.. like my pretty floral pattern lol? might keep it un-trimmed ;)
  8. yea i seen that not long ago.. old mate kept it pretty quiet but there was a thread on here about it..
  9. hahah i will need a bigger engine soon enough .. the poor old 4k wont be able to turn the alternator lmao.. although.. a mate has a crashed twin turbo 2jz aristo he is trying to sell me for 2 grand hmmm :hmm:
  10. and just as i was writing this, this showed up
  11. been way to rainy and cold lately and ive been too lazy but i made some rings for the subs to mount to.. they are countersunk but are a tiny bit to small for the subs to fit into.. cars at the shop getting a new windscreen in and some other small jobs.. i ripped the carpet/seats etc out and dynamatted the whole floor and ran the 0 gauge cable down the middle of the car and all the signal wires down one side of the car.. and than put down some under carpet insulation i had from ripping a house apart. bought a second hand vn alternator and i'm gunna see if i can use the guts out of it to make a 85 amp alternator.. just gotta find some longer stator bolts. ordered a new soundstream 4 channel amp for the focal's and also made some 6.5inch rings for them so i can mount them solid to the doors..
  12. oh ahah woops must have missed that part .. great work but !!
  13. should have some round rubber things under the bonnet on the gaurds to lift the front of the bonnet up.. if the rear is sitting to low than you can adjust it by losstening the two bolts holding the hinge to the bonnet and adjusting it till it sits right.. if its extreme than you can 'slot' the holes.
  14. http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/TOYOTA%20COROLLA%201981-85%20KE70.htm
  15. sorry i should have said the dark blue guards, the pieces you used for the sections yous cut out, how come you didnt use those whole guards?
  16. same here.. i hate the idea of cutting such a classic up with a grinder.. not so bad with ke55's/ke70's.. but older ones like this makes me cringe lol. a mate just crashed his toyota aristo with 300rwkw and wants 2g for the motor.. i have 2g in my piggy bank.. so tempting hehe.
  17. yet again good work on the rust repairs.. i know how much of a pain they are (always get the rust repair jobs at work) but why didn't you's just use the blue guards and re paint them?
  18. yea i'm not against spring cutting.. not really a fan of it either but... as long as decent stiff shocks are used i reckon its fine.. and i normally cut two things off the rubber bump stops when cutting springs.. so it still has a bit of travel in it.
  19. GEEESH ... WISH I HAD AIR BAGS LOL.
  20. why is alcohol always involved in spring cutting ? haha
  21. do it ^^^^^ rb30 ke20's will be like the new ke70 4age's soon lol.
  22. YESSSSS !!! that thing is gunna be a bullet !!!
  23. and will also come in handy for me for when i go over 5000 watts rms
  24. haha all good
