damn! that te27 is hot! gotta love japanese oldschool cars!

so far.. its my friend's silvia s15 japanese spec with a bit of mod (i think thats what he said lol). well about 110-120km/h isnt very fast but we were doing it in a normal road at around 5pm'ish (the speed limit was 60 i think lol).. so yeah, a bit scary as well. (i think we all got scared when we're not driving..) and driving 130-140km/h in a stock-7k-powered toyota kijang in jakarta tollway while zig-zagging past another cars. in addition to that, there were 5 of us in the car AND our stuff as well.. hehe.. the engine was screaming! poor car.. no, i wont do that in aussie.. :P

well, turns out the problem was an air hose that is connecting the engine and the air filter box thing. the condition of the hose wasn't too good. it's already been taped up all around with some black sticky tape. i gotta go to the wrecker sometime tomorrow or wednesday to look for that air hose thing.

hi guys, look, i know this is a corolla forum but i'm sure people here could tell me a good place for me to service new ride :y: which is an '86 toyota celica st162. i've been looking for a corolla coupe in melb. area but i found no luck on getting it, so i got myself a celica instead. now, this car has some problems on the engine, which is a 3s-ge with 5-speed manual transmission. the car seems to be choked (?) when i hit the gas. it happens on low rpm like 1-3 rpm. so i'm thinking of servicing the car. as i don't want to get ripped off from the mechanics (i just got to australia like 3 months ago and i haven't go to a mechanic before) i need some suggestions on which mechanics/place to fix my car in melbourne in nothern suburbs area (i live in reservoir btw). so yeah, if any of you can help me i'd be very thankful ;) . and i'll post some pics of my new ride if you guys want to see it. :jamie: i've joined ozcelica.com forum on the net but they haven't approved me as their member yet, so i can't post there yet. i don't know why. thanks, deri

the older ones looks better, oh yeah and i really like the corolla logo in the steering wheel on my old ke30, it's a C with 3 stars above it. looks great! :)

the 1st one is okay i think. at least the paint is shiny and the door handles are shaved. can't imagine how bouncy it is when cruising on the road. the 2nd one could be photo-shopped. but still, the supra tail lights gives that different look to the car. :)

actually, this ke70 is pretty common in indonesia where i came from. we call this type DX plus. however, the interior is not black, its cream/ivory in colour. and about the handbrake cover where it has ashtrays facing to the back seat thing, it comes standard i think. as my old green ke30 also had one. nice find man! :y: definitely japanese version of ke70 IMO. deri

o yeah, i just found a pic of the engine. its not the best view though. stock 3k with 4 speed-manual transmission. and the blue ke 30 is my other corolla, which was sold earlier this year.. loved them all! :ninja: deri..

the 1st one is better i think. except for that 3-spoke allow wheels, i'd change them to a 5-spoke.. hehe alrite, i better start saving some money then.. :'(

i'm going with the castrol's white-red-green. and that black-red advan doesn't look too bad! :'(

good to know that aussie rolla community enjoying my car :) actually, i was gonna put an 80% black window film all around but then i already had another car which had dark window film, so i want something different, and i put a brown-see-through window film instead, which looked fine with the black interior+seats inside..

thanks mate, yes I'm 100% sure it is a ke30, i don't think we indo market got another model other than ke30 for corollas made in the 74-79. and we didn't have any 2-doors or station-wagon or panelvan models.. too bad.. well the original color was actually darker than this color, i think the owner before me had resprayed it. o yeah, i was really careful when i'm driving my car thru the traffic jam as there were lots of motorbike that could knock my fender mirrors off easily. its hard to find the replacements of there mirrors as well these days, not to mention it costs some money.. :)

yea i love those guard mirrors too, the bad thing is it's almost impossible to see them when it's raining heavily.. (which is often..) especially the left one. i had to follow my instincts back then :)

thank you sir.. no sorry haven't got any engine pic at the moment, i'll try to find one though. i'm sure i took a picture of the engine, i just need to look for the files in my computer. it has a standard 3k engine with 4 speed manual transmission (I don't think we have ANY automatic old-corollas in Indo as far as i know)
