  6. AE71 have the clutch pedal on the other side of the column from memory. Agree, theory sounds fine! Just so long as your 'L' bracket is nice and stiff.

    I'll be there!
  8. In my experience when welding gas-less you get a high level of gas porousity in the weld. So the weld is ugly and not very strong. With gas tends to be much cleaner
  9. Well if you want to stop the rust no. Bog is porous and so holds water, so it can actually accelerate rust. Best way to fix it is cut out all rust, weld in new patches, paint it, the rust protect it
  10. Detonation Start by checking the timing and ignition system
  11. I like the current paint job plans
  12. Yes had to when I was rolling the lip. That and the bolts will cut into the tyre under full compression! I did contemplate re-fitting them and making them clear nicely, but eh Ask around some panel shops man, dare say most wont be interested. Maybe try some hot rod oriented places/people, they are good at this sort of thing. I do know one person who may do it, but its 45min probably from you. PM if interested
  13. John, I have 15x8 -4 with 10mm longer lcas, which puts the wheel roughly where your fronts sit. Fronts are easy to roll/pull, with a 195/50 most of the tyre is inside the guard. I have stretched the guard while retaining the 'square' edge, and the paint (at least on the outer) is fine. Looks like the pano rear will be easier than sedan, as sedans have a seam down the center, and as you stretch the guard the spot welds pull out! But really I think you should get new arches welded on the rear to fit those wheels, or someone talented with an oxy blzbub: Love that wagon hey! He has a thread on 86dc if you havent seen it yet
  14. You will struggle to find anything low profile in a 13, and if you do find some they'll most likely be expensive and a pretty average tyre in general. If you want some stretch I'd suggest getting some wider rims first, say 13 x 7. You could put 165 on those... don't expect grip though
  15. Yeah it'll fit. Wont be stretched at all
  16. Sup sup. Does anyone need a pair of 15 inch skid tyres? Weren't very good so I swapped them off. 205/60 with plenty of tread left, and they're free!!
  17. Pump the throttle a couple times, then hold it down a little bit when you hit the key
  18. Sure you don't want to give it a crack? (lol no pun intended) All you gotta do is use some good solid boots, apply even pressure slowly and the window will come out. Then to put it back in you need some very strong cord about 4m, with some little blocks of wood for handles. Wrap the cord in the gap of the rubber after installing it on the glass, place glass in the hole. Use the cord to pull the rubber edge in over the steel edge. Start on a long edge and work evenly around. Done
  19. Cool thanks mate, should be no drama to be right for that date
  20. Yep pull the vac advance hose off and block it, and the little knob thing is an octane thingy, quickly adjusts the timing if you change what octane fuel you're using.
  21. A steering lock is only going to slow someone down if they are determined to take your car, which lets face it, is gonna be pretty tempting to steal. I'd actually feel much better about leaving it in a busy place than where you currently leave it. I'd hazard a guess that its more likely to be stolen from outside your house than work. Anyway, a quick release will be a pain in the bum bum too, and only slightly deter. I'd much rather a good alarm system
  22. Awesome, do you reckon you could put me down? don't really want to join ns for an event lol. Hope they don't mind us toyota boys crashing their day haha
  23. Sounds pretty cool mate, theres probably enough events to warrant getting a yearly one yeah? Too bad eastern creek a bit of a trek, but still I'm sure you'll find enough events to keep you amused! Just don't break your daily haha. I know a couple of people who are keen too, could probably get 3 definates? (including me). 1 is probably already on your list of people tho haha
  24. Well thats gay lol Let me know if you need a hand
  25. A C's shifter, I swear I saw one for sale the other day. Apparently these are a decent short shifter
