  1. Yep same diameter. You should check the lengths though, theres a decent guide on AE86dc for shock lengths, and one on toymods too I think
  2. What happened to the blue car mate?
  3. There was also a nice silver rx3 with what appeared to be a mildport crusing around the lake on the weekend. Had stockies and looked immaculate. Wanted to go to this.. didnt realise it was a Initial drift event? Hopefully hit up skid pan soon as discussed too
  4. They do. Because the NRCA's turn with the wheel, they not only affect the camber while the wheels a pointing straight ahead, they completely change the dynamics as the steering angle is changed. Longer LCAs/camber tops do not have the same effect. So yeah, generally not good.
  5. Lol and thats pretty typical. I had this bloke come round and ask about my HT ute, and the second I mentioned it still had a red motor he says "I'll give you 6 grand cash today". I said no... I could be insane? I think I did him a favour considering the rust :lolcry:
  6. I'm unsure if it would fit, but a KE70 radiator has the top outlet on the drivers side, and can work with an uprighted engine. Might be worth a squiz?
  7. Hey Cameron, I'd be using the long manifold if you have room (doubtful?). Mainly because its a nicer flowing thing without aggresive radius's, which the redline manifolds are reknowned for. Your short one does look quite tasty though. Cheers, and good luck setting it up
  8. Touche. SLW I wasnt having a go, just joking. :blinks: Sorry it came across that way. Guess humour isnt as forthcoming when your exhausted after a long work week?
  9. Woooo! Nice and straight! Looks like an excellent base
  10. Gee you work slow huh :laff: I think I'm down to about 6 hrs including tuned and tested. Still to slow for my liking
  11. If you're using XT130 struts you will need to use the XT130 brakes (they are larger anyway). I'm not sure that a KE30 spring will work... You may need to get custom springs made, or even better just convert to coilover. Use KE30 tops, and XT130 arms will work but they are quite long, meaning you might not get as much lock as you'd like. It is possible to use AE86 ps arms (shorter) but then you will run into minor fouling issues.
  12. Apparently you need a 'commercial' block to bore it out safely to 80.5mm These have thicker walls / less prone to core shift. Crank is the same. This is what I've read so don't take it as gospel :P But a few people on here have done it
  13. Yep I have a linkage setup like that too altezza ^^ Think this is standard alfa? Works quite well and doesnt take up a lot of room like some aftermarket kits
  14. Last friday spotto: matt black KE10 in campbell (not sam and tom's I don't think?) Minty bamboo KE20 And a few dirty stock KE70's :) This morning saw a nice KE35? coupe also
  15. 100% Cereal Trevbot. Why couldnt they calibrate at the '0' position? haha Also slanty is gang
  16. Lol at how the 4K managed minus 1000 RPM
  17. Minimum & maximum recommended sizes for 4K (& 5K in some cases) From my research Choke:28, 32 Main:120, 200 Air:170, 200 Emul:.1,.6 Idle:40,58 Pump:33, 40 Generally the recommended worked 4K starting point is around: 120 main, 180 air, 35 pump, 50 idle And interestingly TRD spec: Main:160-200 Air:180-220 Emul:7772.2 Idle:50 Pump:33 My current spec DHLA G 32 choke 120 main 170 air 7772.1 emuls 55 idle 35 pump
  18. Its quite difficult to find decent tuning info on the web, so that book would be very useful kangaroosa! Will see if I can find it locally. Redwarf: Poor little 4K has had lots more revs since I put them on :P . Tunnels are awesome Philbey: Yes they're balanced, they are G's so yep only the linkage. I've had the same problem sourcing jets, apparently the company that made them went bust. Might get some from the uk, or hopefuuly find someone with a stash local! But anyway, all I want to do is fatten the tune up, and improve the progression from off throttle. Then I am going on the dyno! Will find the current specs and put them up if anyones interested?
  19. Thanks mate, yep thats where I was going to start (mains then air). Cheers Any other advice welcome too :)
  20. Alec: 1. Its running hot and a bit rough 2. Spark plug discolouration Wagon kid: Yeah I'm getting it dyno tuned soon, but I enjoy tuning myself and it will save some time. I have a fair idea what I'm doing.
  21. Hey, So I have twin DHLA 40's on my 4K, and I'm doing the baseline tuning to get it running reasonably well before dyno tuning. Its currently running lean. My question is should I; 1. Go to a larger main jet, then larger air if it still needs more fuel? 2. Go to a larger air jet, then larger main if it still needs more fuel? 3. Larger one of each by a certain increment? Thanks, any tips appreciated
  22. You might have trouble getting pistons that big into a 4K. Apparently you need a commercial block if you want to bore it that big. Might be easier to start with a 5K block.
  23. Ok canberra guys, marques is this sunday! I think we should organise a meet up prior to entering the park like last year. What do people think of meeting at belco bowling (just behind maccas) at 10?
  24. Big breaker bar 17mm socket 17mm spanner Ratchet 14mm socket Think the shock tops are 14mm? Need 2 spanners Brake line spanner Pliers 12mm socket and spanner I think I've got it right :P Its easy, although getting the 4 link arms out can be a pain. Best take a nice lever with you, aka a massive screwdriver Edit: Daves keyboard technique and speed is impressive :laff:
