  1. i don't plan on keeping it, rebuild her and sell a fresh 5k to anyone who wants a upgrade from a 3/4k

  3. took most of my parts to work today, left them bake in the parts washer for 4 hours lol from this to this! started painting the timing cover and polished my rocker cover ftw!
  4. according to the other thread, n14 gtir booster fits. might look into this what did the reco'ing set you back dave? ill look into this aswell
  5. if you can't find a oil cap for it find something else the right diameter that fits. i found one of those rubbery bouncy balls as a oil cap in my old ke30 :blinks:
  6. my work area zee head more gunk big box of goodies ill be taking to work and shove em in the parts washer for the day. then on monday block/crank/pistons/cam/lifters go to the machinist for measuring and acid dipping
  7. the amount of GUNK in this motor is amazing! but most of the bearings are still fine? :hmm:
  8. i pick this 5k up cheap. ran it in ke55 for 3 months with a blown hg (pressurizing the coolant system and EPIC blowing smoke) while my warm 4k was being built. pulled like a school boy! i ran some serious thick engine oil/gearbox oil to try keep the smoke down. it kinda worked :lolcry:. its been sitting on the garage floor the past 5 months doing nothing so i was thinking of rebuilding her and selling it. trolling thru ebay, i found 2 5k gasket kits CHEAP!. ordered them in and they arvived today. as soon as i got home (around 6ish) i put the motor on the stand and started ripping her apart inspecting her. i started packing up my tools at 7:45 LOL! i had some troble removing the harmonic balancer without a rattle gun. tried jamming a screwdriver threw it etc etc until i got a brain fart use a headbolt/some random thing and a socket to hold the piston down while i undid it. worked a treat! most of the bearings looked ok. rings looked FORKED but lmao more pics next post

  19. styler - ive fitted another master cylinder bleed it up. under hard braking i can hear a vac leak from the booster from the cabin. when i had a apprentice in the car pressing the brakes while i was bleeding the master, i could clearly hear the booster leakage. also when i hold my foot on the brake hard and turn the key off, the pedal comes straight up after 2secs. i might go do some measurements down the wreckers on saturday and see what i find

  23. shes rego'd/transfered insurance taken care of i got a quote thru racv for agreed value of 3 grand and it was gonna cost me $1479 a year for full comp? third party fire and theft for $50 a month FTW! got my massive repair manual today YEWWW!
  24. hey fellas, i got a square type master cylinder in my 81 ke55 witch seams to leak when depressing the pedal under hard braking. is there any thing else that fits with the same stud pattern/push rod size/diameter as my std corolla booster? i don't wanna get one from another rolla as they all seam to be rusted or forked from a leaking master cyl can anyone point us in the right direction? thanks for your time Evan
