next wanted to put the front pulley on, but had to figure out a way to lock up the crank from turning, so i made a brace thing out of some 3mm steel plate, this bolts to the crank ,where the flywheel bolts usualy go ,and jams inbetween 2 gearbox bolts, geto creations not sure on this one,put a little bit off grease around the pulley and slide it on, hoping it wont leak, guess we will see.... heres the big ass bolt that holds the pulley on.... had to torque the bolt up to 109 ft ibs ,was frigen tight, heres my pimp new oil cap added some s/s cap screws and bolts better pic of the cas cover managed to get the alt support brakets all back on ,there were a few of them ,and also got the alt sitting on ,looks great!glad i spent the time to polish it up it seems to fit the look well, as she sitts -

all bolted up, fitted a new oil filter, this is tiny!! the 4k filter is like 2.5 times bigger next the engine mounts... knock sensor... this is the crank angle sensor, looks like a hall sensor and a disk that has lots of little slots in it, replaced the cas cover ..... my camera on my phone is definatley craping it self ,i used to be able to get half decent shots ,now be lucky if it gets in focus at all, can't complain realy tho ive taken around 6000-7000 photos since i started this build, may have to look at getting a new one lol on top of the camera this is my tool box,its a aus post ,post box lol its a nightmare having to scrapthru the crap every time i need to find a specific tool ,oh what fun it is to ride on a one horse open sleigh lolol -

couldnt afford to buy a fancy oil block thing, they were like 300 odd dollars for a proper oil block,so decided that i would just use a oil relocation adaptor, apparently there a little restrictive, but if i find problems with it i can change it later,so for the mean time the factory oil block had to go back on, heres the area where it bolts to ..... heres the oil block ,all cleaned out and painted, ready to go back on.... these two things are oil seals that go inbetween the block and the oil block, only thing was i couldnt find a pic of how there came off :bash: for the life of me couldnt remember which way they went, had alook in one of the manuals but that wasnt any help at all as that just showed the seal as a disk ,not a disk thing with a flangey bit coming off them..... finally figured them out, there was a tiny very faint oil stain on the inside of this block that was exactly where the end of the seals would have sat,so i went with puting them that way ,don't think it realy mattered to much, but i just wanted to assemble it the way it came apart.... the seals kept on falling out when i tryed to bolt the thing on, so ended up having to tilt the engine over a bit to help get them seated properly,no problem the engine stand can turn the engine completely upside down ,its pretty sweet :laff: so this was the same as the throttle body, had cap screws, althought i totaly destroyed them taking this off, there were seazed on there pretty good,so new cap screws , -

next the throttle body .... same again with a new gasket... throttle body came out pretty good, tryed my best to mask off the spring and the black box thing, not sure why they used cap screws when everything else on the engine is normal headed bolts, but got some new cap screws, and bolted it down, had to buy a set of allen key type sockets so i could torque the cap screws down properly, quite niffy little tools .. and there she sitts all back together looks pretty good and all clean ready for assembley ,had to put this away tho since the intake manifold isnt done yet, thats a big mission by it self ill look at the part soon tho.... -

just before i went to do that had to shoot off and get some stuff, but as i was driving along in my daily roller ,(that never gets attention, just abuse) i hear this nasty sound coming from the brakes, thought to my self oh dear god hear we go more dramas lol,any way quickly or should i say slowly back to work ,using the hand brake most of the way , got there with out crashing into any one,lol any way jacked up the car and took the wheel off, this is what i found... a nice gouge around the disk edge, most likely the horrible sound i was hearing, funny thing was the brakes seemed fine???? wierd,, any way pulled the caliper off and found the brake pads were practicly non exsistant!!!maybe 0.5 of a mm of pad left :lolcry: with a small stroke of luck i remembered i had a set of brand new pads that i bought for my other rolla about 3 years ago ,and i managed to find them! so was pleased at that, this is what the new pad looks like vs the stuft one,i know this is a little off topic but in the greater scheme of things the daily,is part of my build, with out it i couldnt get around lol any way after a bit of stuffing around got the bits back to gether, bleed the brakes, took it for a quick test run, and they work great ,way better than before ,the pedal is firm as,just want to cain around so i can slam on the brakes hahaha, pitty the engine is stuft :bash: any way that little drama out of the way back to work........ -

leaving those parts, back to the rocker cover ,here started polishing the lettering... well looks alot better than it did.... then changed the spark plugs, the ones that came out wernt to bad,not sure if they were in there from factory, the ones i got were from america, iriduim ngks, the gap was set at 0.30, the site i got them off said that they were pre gapped ready to go, only thing was the old plugs had a gap of 0.36 plus not sure if thats casue they wear out or if thats what they were set at,any way ill leave them at that for the moment, got all the old masking off and cleaned up ,spark plugs done , letters polished ,ready to mask and paint... -

after the rocker cover was sanded then had a look at the lettering, started with 400 on these ones, there were fairly smooth so didnt need to corse to start with, can see the 400 took care of the surface corosion straight away... didnt want any sludgey water geting into the spark plugs and all over the engine so went crazy with the masking lol process i used on these were 400 dry,600 wet,800 wet ,1200 wet,1500 wet here its up to 800 -

next big misson was to clean up and paint the rocker cover, thought about it for a bit ,and was going to take it off to do it,but well i took off the nuts, it wasstuck down pretty good,so decieded to leave it on there and just mask up the engine, took a fair while to do this part, inbetween running around getting bits and pieces was a long day! was pretty dirty ,and the lettering had a bit of corosion on them , used prepsol and a scotchy, got all the old grease and dirt off,and sanded it up, found out it was made of alloy so wanted to have a go at polishing up the lettering .... -

can't believe how many parts are on this thing, spent at least 5-6 hours cleaning and preping a few parts that i wanted to paint up, this is the idle air control valve, no idea how this thing works or what the hell its realy spose to do, but it had a bit of carbon rubbish in it ,so decided to clean it out before i gave it a bit of a spray, i used some carb cleaner ,just sprayed it in there, hope that was ok and it didnt do any damage, heaps of black goop came out and it was left pretty well cleaned up, also done the same to the throttle body thing, again abit of black carbon stuff in there but wasnt terrible, the carb cleaner and a brush got rid of it all... -

well on advice from you guys took my fly wheel into the brake shop and ended up getting it machined, dude there told me i could use it as is ,but most likey the clutch plate would end up being chewed out with uneven wear and id be pulling it back off again , so told him to go ahead and do it, fairly stoked at the price a measly 33.00 dollars ,better to be on the safe side i guess and at that price i can't complain,at least i don't have to buy a new one ;-) -
dude thats sexual,so jelous ,wish i was at that stage, haha congrats shes looking overrated,
