Okay peeps, small update: I didn't end up picking up the AE82 on Saturday but have reorganised to pick it up on Tuesday next week. Which will be in the mid-semester break so I should be able to start work on it straight away, Willis you keen? Also my RWD 4AGE extractors and braided clutch line arrived the other day, thanks to Mr Mills! So I went out and bought some stuff to go with them: 15meters of heat wrap, hose clamps for the heat wrap, and some high temp paint to make the extractors nice and schmick. Oh and intake + exhaust gaskets. And while I was there I bought some stuff to finish off putting my gauge and switch panels in the dash. So in the mid-semester break I'm hopefully going to start the conversion. So syked! Pic related:

So I'm picking up the AE82 this Saturday, it has a fresh rebuilt bigport 4AGE with a TRD headgasket, not even run in yet apparently. And that will be getting towed to Byron. Then in the mail I have these: 4-2-1 extractors, unknown brand, pretty long too. Braided clutch line with a banjo fitting so the clutch line won't foul on the extractors. Shits coming together, I'm dead syked.
  12. ^Though that said "illest", almost vommed.
  13. ^I don't get it?
  14. KE70.com and rollaclub.com are the same thing? Since when!
  15. BatteryWorld wouldn't replace my battery. It was almost dead but wasn't quite dead enough for it to be a warranty claim. So I bought an LED headlight instead, no more flat batteries.

Just put a deposit on an AE82 SX Seca.... 4AGE time!
  18. Wouldn't the volts be much lower if one or more of the cells was stuffed? Somewhere around 10volts or less, 12.8volts to me says that all 6 cell are still working? Edit: just did some reading, apparently the voltage can stay up around 12v when one or more cells are dead. So you may be correct Rob, and it that case I'll be getting a new battery, because warranty.
  19. Okay nerds, help me out here. My motorbike runs a 35w headlight off a 3Ah battery, but the problem is that it takes about 2 minutes to completely flatten a charged* battery. So I did some calculations: a 35w globe at 12volts draws 2.9Amps ( ie. 35watts/12volts = 2.9Amps). The battery is a 3Ah and should therefore be able to run the headlight for about 1.03 hours (3Ah/2.9Amps = 1.03 hours). Does this mean that if I was to take the battery out, sit it on a bench with 2 wires connecting the globe from the headlight, that it would power the globe for ~1 hour? Because I've tried that and it only powers it for a couple of minutes before it goes flat. And yes I've tested the battery and it holds charge at 12.8volts, and when the engine is running the charging system is operating at 12.8-14volts. So everything seems fine, but the battery just dies in the arse when I put the headlight on. Any suggestions? I'm taking the battery to get it tested tomorrow. Is it possible that the battery could hold 12.8volts of charge but have little or no amps? *I'm guessing it's fully charged after leaving it on the battery charger over night.
  20. Neat.
  21. Sick!
  22. WGMG: When people refer to their AUS cars as "JDM", or the misconception that aftermarket parts can make your car "JDM". Or that putting "JDM as ʞ©$ɟ" stickers on your car makes it JDM. No your Volkswagon is not JDM because you lowered it on some rims... Though you are excused if your car was actually imported from Japan. But everyone else needs to google "JDM".
  23. Sorry man, that's a stupid Byron term. I have no idea how it originated but it has no reference to you, in fact I urban dictionary'd it and it actually means: 1. Desmond: The sexist man alive, often worshiped at home as a God of love, happiness, intelligence, and with. Also can be used to describe someone who is crowded by women and has everything in life figured out. I have no idea how Byron people managed to turn it into a derogatory term.. Edit: Is there an autocorrect on here that changes w-i-t to with?
  24. Byron Shire is the shittest place, too many desmonds there.
