  1. ^ lol, scavenger BTW Reed when is the next cruise?
  2. Thanks man. The centrelink problem is quite complicated, I think you'd definitely have to work there to know the answer. Even the people I've spoken to at centrelink didn't really know how to go about it. Thanks anyway.
  3. WMMH: finally found a house to move into! Bond is going to kill my bank account though. By the way does anyone on here work for centerlink or know anyone that works for centerlink? I really need help with something.
  4. I'm keen for having car hangs, but unfortunately I don't have time for camping.
  5. I don't really remember the rust when AJ had it, though the guys at the local panel beating shop supposedly cut it out and fixed it. Clearly they didn't do a very good job if it has come back already.
  6. KE70s suck, why would you ever want one of those :P
  7. That rust came back pretty bad, bummer man! Loving this car by the way, can't wait to see it do a skid. Videos for sure.
  8. What is this speed sensor that is being spoken of?
  9. Every time I see that your thread has been bumped up on the main page I'm like, "oh dayummm, what's wrong with Reed's car now??". Haha Seriously loving that surge tank. lol so good! :y:
  10. Get one made, they're pretty cheap.
  11. I also need one of these! BTW what does a backing plate actually do?

I like the yellow lights :y:
  13. lawl! Corollas have become popular with bogans apparently. And seriously, what Toyota specialist recommends putting a Commodore engine in a Corolla anyway?? To the OP, I'd do a manual conversion. A secondhand K40 or K50 (4 speed or 5 speed gearboxes to suit a K series engine, though you'll need one from a KE30/55 as I'm fairly sure the KE70 K40 and K50s are different) will probably only cost you around $100 anyway, but you'll need a manual pedal box and all that crap as well. Or just find another auto and chuck it in.

No worries Reed, I'm not sure there was much that could have been done without spare parts anyway. Stupid car, I still have no Idea what's wrong with it. To be honest I haven't even looked at it since I got it home, I'm still angry at it >| Today I purchased some pretty much brand new Otomoto 4kg/mm 200mm coilover springs + helper springs off styler (thanks man!), these will probably go into the blue KE70 as they will be comfier for daily duties. That mean's I'll be able to use the 4.9 Eibachs from the blue KE70 to build some decent coilovers for the brown KE70, win! Also finally found a T50 clutch fork, fork boot, bearing carrier and clips! Thanks to RC member Seventy, they should be on their way here now.
  15. WGMG - People overtaking on the left on the highway. Should be illegal IMO.
  16. I like the grill. :y: BTW what happened to your back man?
  17. ^This is officially what's up!

So I got the car home! I managed to borrow my dad's car to tow it, I thought he was going camping but turns out he is leaving tomorrow and not today. So that worked out well, $103 to hire the trailer and probably $60-$70 in fuel and I got my car home! Getting it off the trailer: What was hiding in the boot: Dave I swapped the entire dizzy over to another one which was working when it came out of my blue KE70, so the condensor would have been swapped when I did that. The only thing that I didn't swap was that little condensor thing that comes off the coil, the leads and the plugs(because I didn't have any to swap in). I honestly couldn't be bothered to get it running anymore as I'm pretty much going to bin that engine when it comes out lol. Jacob that sounds awesome man! First I have to save enough money to get an engine... :sob: Lol Jake that would have sucked. Yeah I checked out the trailer heaps before I hired it, the brake cable for the weird mechanical brake system was very slack and I needed to adjust that. The trailer brakes wouldn't have been working for the person before me if they were towing it with the cable like that. Okay so the car is home now and I can get some shit done on it, so keen! ...but I have no money :( .

Okay so I got the day off work today, time to go heckle all my friends with falcons/commodores/utes to see if anyone will tow my car. Yeah Dave I sussed out trailers, I think the U-Haul car trailers are $85 for 6 hours wich should be enough. And they have winches on the trailers too! I just hope my car isn't too low to get on the trailer, I'll be taking blocks of wood and a trolley jack just incase I need them or something.

So today I was going to move my car down to Byron Bay so I could start the conversion. The day started off with me calling AAMI and getting CTP insurance for the day, then I drove to the TMR where I got an unregistered vehicle permit. Then I packed all my shit into the car and me and my girlfriend started driving home, everything was going sweet until we got to Logan and it randomly broke down, I then spent an hour organising a tow truck to get it off the highway, the guy dropped it off in a quiet street where I tried to figure out why it wouldn't go, I figured it was an electrical issue as I could see fuel being sucked into the carb when the engine was turning over. So I drove back home to get tools, a Gregory's manual, a spare coil, resistor and dizzy. Took it all back to Logan where I spent the next few hours trying to diagnose the problem, I tested to see if it was sparking, but it wasn't. Though there was power getting to the coil, so I put the spare resistor and coil in(which was working when it was removed from my other car), but still no spark. Then I changed the dizzy, making sure I kept the timing correct, but still no spark. I also tried swapping the coil to dizzy lead over from my other KE70 but that didn't work either. By this time I was out of light and we were sick of it. So we left it there and went on back to Byron Bay. I would have got it towed to Byron but the quotes I was getting were like $500+. What should I do people? I have no way of moving it until my dad gets back from his holiday in a few days and I can borrow his ute to tow a trailer up there and get it. Does anyone have a tow car? I will pay you. I really don't want to leave it there as I fear it will either a) get stolen, b) get trashed, c) get towed or d) all of them! Note: we had 2 cars, I was driving the brown KE70 and my girlfriend was driving the blue KE70. I forgot to mention that, that's how I managed to drive home and get tools and stuff.
  21. Good on you and RIP to Jono. I hope the plans work out and that you have some fun with this car!
  22. Reading this kind of shit makes me glad them I'm doing the conversion myself. It really sucks that you're having problems with your car, I swear people never do the conversion properly. Every 4AGE KE70 that I checked out before I decided to do the swap myself was seriously dodgey. But then again I was mainly looking at cars on boostcruising... :lolcry:

  24. So dope! The colour looks really good in this photo against the black MA61s, plus they fit heaps well. Have you got XT130 lower control arms?
