i am soon to venturing down the turbo 4k route, we have alredy got a turbo, a gt17, these are roller bearing aren't they??

 

anyway the main question is can i run fuel thru a roller bearing turbo, or will it need to be modified??

 

any help would be great.

I am almost certain you will need to replace the seals to carbon style,i will find out for you.

 

What is the turbo from.

or just go blow through, you can run a cooler then too. I can give you some info on this. :lolcry:

I'm probably sorely mistaken, but aren't GT17's ball bearing? Or am I getting my terminology mixed?

not sure what its off, got it off ebay nearly brand new.

Send me the numbers on the ID tag and i will find out for ya.

what happened to the twin cam project?

acording to sean (roids70) there not bb or carbon seal, i will also be going turbo 4k but with sweet sweet 4ke injection gear.

thats wierd i thought th gt turbos were ball bearing, oh well, might see how much the carbon seal kit is for them.

 

this is my mates car, my ca18 project is still happening, just waiting on someone to weld the mounts in :lolcry: , and then it s full steam ahead :lolcry:

ok got the turbos numbers, not sure which ones the serial number (probably the one with sn next to it) so ill just give you every thing,

 

this is what it has on it there are tree lines as follows.

the dash one is a an iffy one tho appranttly, i don't have the turbo its at my mates so info is a little second hand

Its a GARRETT GT1752S from the 9-3 16v 2.0L SAAB, It does not appear to be ball bearing nor did i find any info on seals, Garrett don't like to publish much info on turbo chargers, If you really wanna know call:
