NoPsi Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 There is an autocross on the 22/08 at the IWMAC course. Who's up for it? I have just been informed I shall be getting the Hornet back in time. Yay!! First run with the suspension setup properly. Craig Quote

Felix Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 possibly, need helmet and extinguisher first. do you enter on the day? Quote
Teddy Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 don't flame me for this one, but i can't remember what an autocross is... i know the motorkhana, (and the dirt versions) i have my cams S2 Junior license, would need a helmet... :D Quote
Felix Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 had a look on the cams website. would you need the following?: Compulsory vehicle and safety requirements include: + A secondary bonnet restraining device + A fire extinguisher + A blue triangle indicating the position of the battery + Headlights covered with a transparent adhesive film (i.e. Contact) Quote
demuire Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Hmm, my fire extinguishers are new, but not tagged, I wonder if this will be a problem. Should look up sup regs or something... Doug: Yes on all I think. Secondary bonnet restraining device, use a belt or rope or something. Blue triangle I think they sell on the day for very little money, just a temporary one. Headlights I think they sell contact on the day too. Quote
Felix Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 thanks fook. very interested, see how i go. Quote
Redwarf Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Its in the Supp regs that you need the extinguisher tagged. It's now in the CAMS manual, too. I've never had to contact lights at the autocross. Which reminds me, I need a new blue triangle... Nick, can you supply? I don't think they demand a blue triangle if your battery hasn't been moved, could be wrong, though... Then it's all systems go... :D Quote
Teddy Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 Id looove to go to this - but transport could be an issue... is there any 1 willing to take me? Quote
demuire Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 (edited) Rob: CAMS manual only mentions 3-yearly and 6-yearly inspections and servicing, nothing about tagging? Also it says road-going cars are exempt, although I do remember the last sup regs saying that all cars must have fire extinguishers. Does anyone have the sup regs for this? I can't find it on their website... *edit* Just looking at the previous sup regs now - nothing in addition to the CAMS manual, nothing about tagging? Edited August 11, 2004 by demuire Quote
