ancullen Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 The Skyline/Pintara brakes are for the rear of the car? I've read (in the FAQ) that they're pretty good. And when you find out how much the brackets will cost to get made up, let me know as I'm keen to work out about how much the brake upgrade is going to cost. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Coolio, my set up should be ready to pick up by the end of the week, well it bloody better be, so I'll find out about it for you. If you provide a cardboard template or something it'll make it a lot easier. I'll let you know too ancullen, I'm getting good at hooking you up with brake bits hey!? Quote
ancullen Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Oh yeah, I forgot you lead me to the RX7 calipers. If only I'd got my act together and installed them before now! Quote
Raven Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 So these calipers are supposed to be straight bolt on? Can anyone confirm that they would also be suitable for a KE2x Corolla? Quote
flat out Posted May 2, 2007 Author Report Posted May 2, 2007 check the FAQ ravo, you need to use a rx7? adapter i think and pulsar sss disk Quote
Raven Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Hmm, had a quick read. Just wondering if anyone had actually done it. I have RA60 celica struts and brakes for up front which I think I'll use instead :jamie: Quote
flat out Posted May 2, 2007 Author Report Posted May 2, 2007 yeah i was thinking why have big brakes on the back and small ones on the front:p only after i realised how big my rears are Quote
jamesrolla Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 you need to get the right model volvo for pots as one kind are made for vented discs and the other are made for solids, you can use the solid ones with vented discs but you need to space them out in the middle, they are good calipers for the price they sell at, i ahve them no the front of the datsun 1600 with hilux vented discs and they pull up awsome, i wouldnt bother with rear discs as i see no need for them, BTW these brakes bolted straight onto my 240k struts in the datsun but they needed spacing out and they need the mounts cut down and shortened. ancullen Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 (edited) I think for the AE71 I'll go an automatic ST141 Corona Avante diff assembly. LSD + disc brakes + 4.111:1 ratio + about 40mm more width. Sounds perfect to me, plus there's no dicking around with trying to piece different stuff together, but it'd be easy to upgrade if I wanted to due to it already having discs to start with. cuzzo Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I have some ra60 struts with volvo 244 calipers using standard ra60 discs I'm not using. They have a custom bracket. Quote
