Oil coolers are great, they serve a purpose.. I believe you mean externally mounted one's for show?

External oil filters are great in that one rock will take it out and destroy your engine quick smart.

Factory placement on a lot of cars isn't much better though! One speedhump/ pot hole/ rock at the wrong angle can rip it off entirely

I'd sooner oil at operating temp (say around 90 deg give or take) it'll be more free flowing and yadda yadda.

 

But i know where your coming from with the cool oil.

If you don't have a thermostat on your oil cooler setup, you're gonna have a bad time.
