rian Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yeah the track in your 10 is wild. How are you going to fix that? Quote
Jono.C Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Going back to ke10 struts Ke10 struts have an offset knuckle, so the balljoint hole in the knuckle is actually on a tab on the front of the knuckle, not in the centre of the knuckle.. This means the stub axle is straight up and down unlike ke70 etc, which is why you end up with so much track on a ke70 strut etc, you're pushing the bottom of the strut out nearly 2" before you even intentionally add any track.. and you still have positive camber even when you use cambertops (which is why jordain etc bent their struts) So i'll have less track, and more camber adjustment at the top while keeping it all relatively in the guards :) Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 I like wheels to be pretty much flush with the guards which is pretty much how I've got mine. That 70 has s13 front end. Some times I feel like putting all the s13 gear in but apparently it isn't that great. Yeah that is Glenpos' AE71. Quote
Jono.C Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Aye? The Hitandrun drift club KE has s13 gear? The bloke said it's ae86 stuff 'cause he reckons s13's shit.. Which it is Quote
Jono.C Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 http://hitandrundc.com/2012/02/16/crossroads-spicys-sr-ke70-just-around-the-corner/ "spicy says: February 16, 2012 at 6:36 pm oh yea and its all 86 front end cause otherwise it steers shitty!" Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Hmmmm so there just pointlessly huge wheels lol My memory has failed me. Quote
Jono.C Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yeah you'd think it does! I reckon it's got like sigma arms in it and like 9" superlights.. too much poke to be 8's.. they also mlook like 16's to me? Quote
rian Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 I don't think they make Superlites in a 9, they must be 15x10 -12. Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Yeah 15x10 -12 sounds accurate. Way to big for a car that size. Ueo and etc in d1 all run 14x7 ~0. Quote
towe001 Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Went out to the speedway tonight to watch the monster trucks Yay, not. The best part of it was at the end of the night. Scruffy's motor blew up but the driver was determined to put a show in for the kids. And the other ones gearbox blew up, so he only had reverse. I remember someone telling me that fwd cars are useless and a rwd car will walk all over them. The white datsun was the only rwd to keep up to the two charades in the first race. Two laps in and the charades started walking over the rwd cars Near the end of the race if you weren't in a charade, you may as well give up and go home. The four leading cars are fwd.... All in all it was an ok night, but i think the people who now run the show need to pull their fingers out out of their dates and put some intelligence into it. One race only had three cars running, another race had five cars.... And yet a race needs to have a minimum of eight cars, otherwise its called off. Quote
nerfbat Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) glad it was a good night Rob..! was Gravedigger there? my fave... the original guy(there are a few of the cars now) has been doing it for like 25 years since he first got his license or something close to that Edited October 13, 2012 by nerfbat Quote
Trev Posted October 13, 2012 Report Posted October 13, 2012 Near the end of the race if you weren't in a charade, you may as well give up and go home. The four leading cars are fwd.... If the blower I got fitted in the 82 sedan of mine then I would have never got another 71. Quote
Willis Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Yeah 15x10 -12 sounds accurate. Way to big for a car that size. Ueo and etc in d1 all run 14x7 ~0. Ueo's a champ. Look at all the AE86's featured in Hot Version etc, they're all running 15x6's and 7's. They just have amazing rubber on them. You don't need 9" wheels to produce grip or reduce understeer...Your driving makes a difference too... Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Yeah if run stretch grip is realistically not on your agenda. I remember showing my uncle a photo similar to that and he just laughed and said they were running 16x14s on the XJ9R which was 900kg and had 1000hp. That why would someones corolla need 15x10s. But he did say it looked kinda cool haha Quote
