philbey Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Installed Chrome and haven't looked back (although there are a few features of Firefox I prefer over Chrome, like the ability to re-open particular tabs after you closed them rather than just the most recent one, and the lack of menu bar in Chrome means I can't run my slimlime Winamp skin at the top of the screen as it covers up the tabs). Been putting up with IE7 at work (which is painfully slow on media-rich sites like SMH and TOCAU) until recently when I realised that I have local admin rights on my PC, so installed Chrome there as well You can select which recently closed you open when you open a fresh tab there's the "recently closed" button down the bottom and it pops up with the list like Firefox. Took me ages to find it. Chrome will install on my work pc without any admin rights! Hence that's how I first got onto it, we are still on ie5! Quote
irokin Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 we are still on ie5! Are you fken serious?! I'd say its more likely IE6 unless you're still using win2k. Windows XP came with IE6. Quote
irokin Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Yep, IE6 is the bane of web developers. Non standards compliant piece of dog shit. And yet for some reason it still persists. Only way we're going to get rid of it is to just stop supporting it. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Yeah but Chrome is watching that fight in a corporate box surrounded by hot women in bikinis, drinking Moet, and eating oysters. Quote
SLO-030 Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 Found another black hole of a forum yesterday. "JZXproject.com" You thought RC was a bit of a flamage forum at some points? Think again. Join up and spam the shit outta the ʞ©$ɟtards that seem to gravitate there. Quote

clubby2084 Posted April 15, 2012 Report Posted April 15, 2012 I know there's a couple of you here that have back problems, some cronic from what I've read. I feel your pain. I have somehow managed to slip a disc between my C6 & C7 and the pain from my back and down the right side of my body is driving me up the bloody wall. Easter weekend I coudn't see my Dr for days so I went to the ED at Royal Darwin Hospital. All I wanted was pain relief. OK they were busy, I can understand. Three hour wait I got to see a DR. After CT scans Dr agrees I'm in a lot of pain. She returns with Nurofen. I went crook. I've waited 3 hours to get something I can get over the counter at the local servo. Try again!. Dr returns with Nurofen +. If Dr looked at my file she'd see I'm allergic to codine so, try again!. Dr returns with something she assures me has no codine, so I take it. I spend the next 3 hours in a bed on an drip being pumped with antihistamines to fight the allergic reaction and the migrane I now have due to being given Panadine Forte (loaded with codine). The up shot to this was, I was so stoned on antihistimines I could no longer feel my back, or any other part of my body. As I couldn't even walk, let alone drive, they were good enough to call my next of kin (my Dad) at 2am to come get me. Parents tend to panic when they get a call at 2am to say your kid is in hospital (even when your kid is 40!). There's a saying in Darwin. "When in pain, get on a plane". Quote

They're cached locally and the browser is smart enough to realise it's already downloaded that image earlier on the page. Unless of course its on then next page, then it blows chunks. But yea, seriously terrible netiquette none the less. Quote
ke70dave Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) I dunno if this is a grinds my gears, i guess it is. What is going on with the price of ke70s? are people actually paying these absoluately rediculous prices? "for sale: ke70, no engine or gear box, suit project track car, needs new tyres, has a sports steering wheel, few dents, otherwise stock - $900" when did "suit project car" INCREASE the asking price? suit project car = going to need a good amount of time and money spent on it to get it to driving condition, how is that worth twice the price? or then you get the not so bad cars "for sale, ke70, registered for 6months, RWC included, lowered springs, $3800"....... are people buying these?! I have been looking around for another ke70 sort of, got a bit of an engine in the build and looking for something to put it in. but at these prices, i am better off looking at something rarer and alot cooler. get better value than a busted up ke70. mazda 929 (RX4 style) or even an old datsun or something. (nb: not real advertisements, but some are pretty simliar...) so are people generally happy to pay these prices? Edited April 17, 2012 by ke70dave Quote
