hilux05 Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 hey yall. done a bit to the old girl albeit very slowly. put in some 86 front struts which ill convert to coilovers soon. p/s arms. tercel front bar ssr formula mesh. look nice but need to be widened. and painted her. as i was sick of the 2 different silvers. almond pressure packs ftw. next up. clutch, jdm disks an calipers an coilovers. put in t18 diff with an proper lsd. then have some fun :) also does anyone know how to undo the big nut on top of the strut that holds the shock in? do i just get a big shifter or is there a proper tool? richie Quote
adam-__- Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Car's looking nice with the meshies up front. What are the widths and offset on them? With the gland nut, use a pipe wrench or a big shifter. And I mean big! I've got this big one (probably the biggest shifter I've seen) and it was slightly too small. Had the tap it on with a hammer. ae174agze Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 nice car man starting to look like a drift pig how i undid mine was get a big spanner and a hammer and wack it, and it cracked the nut then undid it be careful tho those springs can be under a fair bit of tension best too use springs compressors i know a fella that told me a story of a guy working on his car a day before his wedding and he look his front teeth out cheers bud Quote
hilux05 Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) hey peeps. the meshies are only 14x6 +8. not really a great size/offset but they'll do for some skidders till i find something wider. also i got rid of the 86 struts an got me hands on an s13 set up. tein coilies, cusco tops, ca brakes and 9kg springs, way to hard but better than running on bump stops.. and they seen to fit behind the 14's fine. so now she'll stop on a dime. also got a bit more track. the only downside to this is that with the coilovers wound right up the wheel still sits in line with the guard = exhaust sits 80mm off the ground. looks like base adjustables for me. oh well!!! fitment. shall definatly be needing a flare..i also want wider rims than whats on there :bash: got lock!! hilux05 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 ok well a bit has changed since last time. the colour for one. went back to grey as i didnt want to go anywhere near the DOT with the rolla in its current state in fear of them having a "closer" look to change colour over. so another trip to bunnings, 20 bucks an half a carton later it was grey again. also got a silver top flywheel and heavy duty button clutch backin up the bigport. revs and grips like a mofo now. t series drum rear end. meh something to attach wheels to. :P sieras in the rear. daymn loooow. exhaust resting on the diff.. under diff it will be. and lastly my fav.. 15x8 -9 challengers and 15x8 0 sportsmax.... man that was fun trying to get these under the guards. got sick of tryin to be neat and got the BFH out. bog should get any imperfections out.. :jamie: i love the smell of new tyres.. Rola Drifter Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) Hey guys i'm not sure if there's going to be anymore updates on this ride. Richies started his new ke25 project and all the good bits from this 71 are going into it. You'll see a pic of the 71 about half way down the page of how it was not to long ago. Here's a link to the new project http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=26212 Edited February 15, 2009 by Rola Drifter Quote
hilux05 Posted February 16, 2009 Author Report Posted February 16, 2009 haha yeah, she wont be getting driven anytime soon or maybe forever. off to the scrap yard soon unfortunately.. but fear not i will be getting another one someday.. just really sick of all the elevnteens having one.. hopefully they don't find out about ye older corolla's.. this is her two days ago..I'm not ready to let her go yet..been in the same spot for 2 months.. the red shit is rust not paint.. so in conclusion it has been a fun an enjoyable learning curve, so now i know what not to do to the 25.. peace..Richie..
