7shades Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Arrived in Osaka a few hours ago... I'm already having a phat car overdose. *relax, remember to breathe* Unfortunately my camera shat itself pretty much as soon as I landed so pics will be forthcoming as soon as I pick up a new one... there's about 300 electronics stores one street up from my hotel so it shouldn't be a problem :P Oh and its cold. Bitterly, bone chillingly cold. Just nipped out to grab some dinner and now I can't feel my face... its cold. Stay tuned kids :) Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 My advice, go find a vending machine....... You can get Sake in a can from vending machines, you flip the can upside down, crimp the bottom, let it sit (upside down) for about 90 seconds, turn it up the right way, crack it and find piping hot Sake in a can!!! :P I love Japanese ingenuity....... P.S. If you find some of the above-mentioned Sake-in-a-can, please bring back 2 for me, I'll reimburse handsomly for your trouble....... :) Quote
SoulSearcher Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 ohhh I'm really looking forward to hearing about your travels and seeing pics, but I'm REALLY jealous...I'll just have to quietly hate you! :P Lesley :) Quote
7shades Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Day 2... Feel like arse. Osaka is very different to Tokyo... far less tourists = less english = less resturant menus I can read... and in a harbour city with a girlfriend who is rather averse to seafood, this can be a problem. As a consequence we've been eating takeaway type stuff for fear of mistakenly ordering the local favourite 'fried octopus balls' which are everywhere. To be honest I'm not enjoying Osaka so much. The people aren't as friendly, its difficult to navigate, and there isn't really much here to see anyway. Its grey, ordinary, and everything seems run-down and worn out. Just another city... Looking forward to getting back to Tokyo tomorrow... I enjoyed my time there last year. Few pics from today, nothing too exciting Quote
78_7kRolla Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Hope you enjoys yourselves more in tokyo. Stay safe and take plenty of pics of car porn. Quote
7shades Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Another quickie. Osaka by night... apologies for the fuzziness, thats condensation on the lens. It is soooo damn cold, I had the camera in my nice warm pocket and when I took it out to snap a pic, it frosted up. Its just above zero goddamn deg here... and there are girls wearing miniskirts and fishnet stockings. Crazy. Quote
Trev Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 and there are girls wearing miniskirts and fishnet stockings. Crazy. You better be getting pics of them for me then. Quote
Trev Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) Actually that last pic looked very familiar, Are you really there or are you sitting at home playing mr traveler cause that is the same pic location as the 1st one here :P Good work if you took it, HA http://blog.tokyograph.com/?m=200701 Edited February 19, 2008 by Trev Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 How In The f@$k Did you pick that? I just compared pics, and if you look at the roadkill *I mean, pedestrians* walking along the right hand side of the pic, it's identical....... Quote
7shades Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) Wow... thats freaky. That was taken from dead centre of a wooden bridge on a pretty busy arcade, I think it might be Ebisu bridge or something like that. There were a few others taking pics there... appears to be quite popular. We must have been standing in pretty much exactly the same spot... coooool :P And yes, I'm here.... don't make me post pics of myself to prove it, I am NOT photogenic. I bought a hat that looks like a big Mr. Whippy style poo today, how about a pic of that instead... ? EDIT: Mine has gigantic big f@$koff beam of light on the background and less roadkill/japanese people/depressed Osakans, amongst other things. Edited February 19, 2008 by 7shades Quote
