date will be melbourne cup weekend, satday 1st thru to tuesday 4th november. 4 day weekend FTW!

 

gives us plenty of time to drive there saturday, spend a good 2 days out and about and catching up, then cruisy drive back home on the tuesday.

 

will be good to see the "kte257" regardless of how sorry it's looking then :sob:

Spent today pulling half the motor down to replace the head gasket.

 

The reason it popped was when the head gasket was replaced by the previous owner of the motor thats in the car, they had decided not to scrape the stuck on gasket off the head and block surfaces and also to not torque the head down properly.

 

All sorted now though. :fuzz:

 

Just have to adjust the tappets a little more with a warm motor and it should be sweet :fuzz:

 

Next on the list is to replace the shock absorbers, lower the car and throw in the weldy :fuzz:

I think Mick knows but so you don't get the wrong idea. I only had the motor in and running for an hour before i decided to sell which i sorta regret now :y: but oh well.

A little update.

 

On the way to my old mans place, I got waved down by some random dude on here wanting to know if I wanted to sell the car. I told him to check back here as it will be up for sale at some point, not just right at the moment.

 

Anyway, I fitted up my old carburettor off the 4K from my other KE25 today. The exhaust is pretty restricted on this car and the intermediate muffler is collapsing, so next weekend I'm throwing the sports exhaust on it from my yellow KE25 and also the rear shocks from it too.

I had to get rid of it as soon as possible, dad was tired of 2 of my cars in the front yard. Id really like to get this back, BUT, ive decided the next rolla will be a E3X series. Good luck with the sale when you put it up for grabs
