madrolla68 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 :S any body know if it will fit in a ke10 or if if can be licenced? One word DREAMIN!!!!!!!! Yes you will get it in there,i seriously doubt you will get it licensed and it would be a pig to drive .Too much weight over the front for a little car. Build a tough turbo K motor mate. MAtt Quote
Sam_Q Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 also unless your a miracle worker any fj20 will need a massive rebuild to make it reasonable again Quote
beerhead Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 It's pure class that one of the fastest cars down the 1/4 mile in the club is K powered, heed his words if you want a car that can be driven on the street :bash: One word DREAMIN!!!!!!!! Yes you will get it in there,i seriously doubt you will get it licensed and it would be a pig to drive .Too much weight over the front for a little car. Build a tough turbo K motor mate. MAtt Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Why fj20? do you already have one? It would possibly be legal as a non turbo, a 4a would be a whole lot more practical for the old girl as they are about half the size! Quote
GOODY Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Bit off-topic but what rotory's are able to legally be dropped into a ke10 in Qld? I remember seeing the way to work out the max engine size on here somewhere but can't find it atm.. Quote
godlovesugly Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 at first i thought you asked if an F20C will fit in a KE10, that would be cool. an FJ wouldnt be so cool. Quote
untubbed_20 Posted August 10, 2008 Report Posted August 10, 2008 I know a guy buy the name of shaun had a fj20 in a ke10 with tubs in adelaide Was one of the quickest 4 cyl back in the day, but its JAMMED in there! not the easiest or nicest motor to use. I would go 4AGZE with a turbo if you have cash, or mazda BP motor would make a good conversion and make bulk grunt easy cheers darren Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I know a guy by the name of shaun had a fj20 in a ke10 with tubs in adelaide do you know where this car is now? Seen some old pics of it, looks tuff Quote
curly Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 I think your car is legal with a 1,8l turbo or 2.0l na. so go ca18det or mazda b6t out of familia, i have one of these that i,ve measured and they will fit, make great hp and a bit different, you need a box out of a mx5 with the 1.8l b6 motor. didn,t fj20 stop production 20 years ago Quote
untubbed_20 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) I can tell you that the mazda motor is WAY more power productive than a CA18T They make FANTASTIC power, just weak in the conrods(although 4agze conrods fit and you can get aftermarket spool h-beam 4agze conrods for $450-500, problem solved) I would do that if i was doing a ke10 engine conversion project, and a 4agze-turbo next. I don't know about shaun , he still had it last time i asked and doesn't drive it, think he took it to heathcote last time and ran high 10's@ 124ish mph., which is not bad seeing it has a really oldschool T3/4 and powerglide. Gt30 or bigger and it would go into the 9's cheers darren Edited August 20, 2008 by untubbed_20 Quote
shashora Posted September 15, 2008 Report Posted September 15, 2008 As much as i love the idea of keeping the stock motors and making them go fast, but isnt it alot more practical and cost effective to do a reliable, engine conversion? If i were building another car, it'd be a ke35 with an sr20, and some lienient engineering, or a ca18det. If i had plenty of money, i'd probably still go something in the way of a f20c or a beams 3sge :y: Cheers, Jase Quote
